The reasoning for the quick start after the SB is exactly what people mentioned in previous posts. They still want the XFL players to be able to make training camps.
The timing isn't dumb its really smart. The XFL wants to be the minor leagues for the NFL. There's a ton of money to made there. If the product is good and players start making the jump then the NFL would probably back them and tap into a new markets.
I hope it works as Michigan could end up with an expansion team and we could all discuss how much better the XFL team is than the Lions.

That's very true but the Red Wings mining talent and hitting on those mid and late round players also changed the landscape in the NHL scouting. Other teams started going to the corners of the earth finding players that they might not normally know about.
Not for watching the game but Cliff Bells is one of the best bars in Detroit. That place is straight up awesome to grab a drink at and listen to live music.
We need to get back to rolling out NFL quality OL that can dominate lesser opponents and hold their own against the big boys.

You must have missed the hold our WR and TE's each had on the huge 3rd down pickup that Ronnie Bell had. We've had a few ourselves, lets not blame the refs.
The refs have been bad but Michigan has been consistently putting the offense in 3rd and long all game. I'm not sure what you expect from the refs when the offense keeps shooting themselves in the foot.
I hated the 58 yard FG attempt but I liked it far better than lining Shea under the OG and direct snapping it to the RB. That was one of the dumbest plays all year and believe me, there's been plenty of those
I hate Dantonio but it was a pretty stupid question to ask. What is he supposed to do bag on his coaching staff to the media. The guy that asked the question got exactly what he wanted in a pissy emotional response.
I don't think Patterson is horrible a QB. I don't think this team is horrible.
What I think is that its a mediocre team and Patterson isn't a great QB that can elevate the team to beat more talented squads. Maybe if Shea believed in the OL or we had a good running game it might be different.
