pass protection isn't great and the WRs don't get separation very often. John missed some throws and there is a reason Wilton was the starter, but the WRs need to help him out some more (Tarik's injury turned out to be quite devastating, hopefully he'll be back soon).
but they didn't win a national championship. PSU didn't make it to the playoff and Ohio got shutout against Clemson in the playoff, by a score of 31-0. If the ultimate goal is a national championship, you need a good offensive line.
Not one of those guys has turned into a succesful NFL QB. Saban has won with great defense and a great offensive line that can pound the ball. Michigan has the defense, it just needs to improve offensive line play.

Look at the difference in completion percentage between 09 to 10. Not saying Peters is the next Luck, but even a player as good as Luck took time to develop.
Also, it's rare for a freshman offensive lineman to play, let alone be good. So I don't think it's as concerning that a freshman hasn't taken over the starting job at RT. Honestly, I'm more worried about LT (hopefully Grant is fully recovered by next year, otherwise sh*t's probably going to hit the fan).

Not saying current coaches bear no responsibility, but Hoke, Funk & Borgers are more responsible for the current offensive quagmire than most people realize. Magnus is obviously more qualified to talk about this but I imagine he would have similar thoughts.
Also, Dantonio is in his 11th year, he had 1 really bad year, that's not the same as trying to recover from Rodriguez (spread offense, horrible defense) & Hoke (terrible offense, good defense).
MSU won the 2015 game on a miracle. They won this game by 4 points and Michigan had a chance to win, despite 5!!!!! turnovers, incredibly shitty weather, and playing the backup QB. That's not on the head coach. Dantonio is currently in his 11th season, Harbaugh is in his 3rd and when you look at the offensive line & QB situation he inherited, he's actually done pretty well.
The offense is terrible, no denying it. And the offensive play calls haven't been very good either. But at the end of the day, Michigan isn't going to a playoff and won't win a national championship until there is a very good offensive line and a pretty good QB.
Plus, the WR corp has been a pretty big weakness. If McDoom catches that ball, this game might end differently. And if McKeon doesn't fumble at the end of the 2nd half, the game could've been won on a field goal.

plus people should be happy Michigan has a coach good enough to go to the NFL after what we experienced with the previous two coaches. Coach Harbaugh has a special connection to UM that he didn't have at his other coaching stops. Plus his dad is around and he still has young kids, probably don't want to keep moving them around.
While Ohio has a very good defensive line, their linebackers are okay and their DBs don't seem good at all. With Coach Brown's aggressive defense/multiple looks and Michigan's better LBs, opposing QBs should have more trouble scoring than they would against Ohio.

unless you have a player like Vince Young or Johhny Manziel, it's very important to have a great offensive line.
