Takes a lot of balls to make Takes a lot of balls to make a racist comment like this in the same exact post you are calling out racism. Bravo.

Not sure where you got that Not sure where you got that idea since tackle numbers isnt "everything" he cited, let alone referenced
Cite your best example of Cite your best example of "ridiculous bullheaded" "bias". Be specific.
Mike Martin committed to Mike Martin committed to Lloyd Carr
So he is upset that his So he is upset that his readers are "fickle". Interesting.
Here is the crux:"This Here is the crux: "This entire season Space Coyote has been gamely explaining what should have happened on failed play after failed play without any thought to how difficult what should have happened is. " This is simply not true. SC addresses how difficult or easy these things are All. The. Time. And he does it with much more of a basis than "hand waving"
After a lifetime in coaching After a lifetime in coaching Borges didn't suddenly learn how to coach in the offseason or forget how to coach the week before osu. The most likely explanation for why it seems that way to casual fans is that there are other factors that casual fans don't understand
My point is that it is at My point is that it is at best dishonest to say that the author is relying on a wizard to explain why football is dangerous for NFL players but not youth football players im not commenting on whether the size difference is sufficient to prove the author's point, just that there is no need to resort to straw men when an actual argument exists
You do know there is a slight You do know there is a slight size difference between NFL players and pop warner players, right?
where does the WSJ article where does the WSJ article say "there's no evidence of a link between violent head collisions and CTE"?
Can you cite the text in the Can you cite the text in the WSJ article that you think your link disproves? I dont see anything in the WSJ saying there is no evidence of a link between head trauma and CTE, as you claim

Man its a good thing the guys

Man its a good thing the guys who "know how to run a spread offense" never struggle against good defenses. Like how you rmember Denard making all those great throws, that trend certainly held against the better Ds we played that year

ETA: that includes not just RR, but holgerson and others, to some extent even chip kelly

That is a statement, that is That is a statement, that is not evidence. And in fact, it is a statement that makes absolutely no distinction between smokers and nonsmokers, which is critical here. There is SOME evidence that smokeless tobacco causes cancer in nonsmokers, but it is not conclusive, as you can see in section 5.2 of that reference. This is why the EU removed the cancer warning from snus (which is different than chew of course) Of course I can understand why a public health organization would not want to condone the use of smokeless as an alternative to smoking, that certainly does not mean they are justified.
Where exactly are the Where exactly are the elevated cancer rates for NONSMOKERS who chew on that page?
Cancer that that person Cancer that that person probably got from smoking. AFAIK there is not much evidence for increased cancer risk among nonsmokers who chew
Flag was for a surprise Flag was for a surprise colonoscopy or something, I don't know what the ref saw but he was PISSED. Gave him the business.

Too bad they dont play the Too bad they dont play the next 3 years. Gotta protect that Indiana rivalry game for MSU
I don't think Mizzou, A&M, or I don't think Mizzou, A&M, or especially Colorado are above average in football for the leagues they entered. Utah maybe. If there are no moves in the next ten year I'll eat my shoes
I blame RR. And Lloyd. And I blame RR. And Lloyd. And Canada
Right! We only have room for Right! We only have room for the Hate On Borges brigade, and will not tolerate any dissention from that position comrade!
Of course coaches are Of course coaches are sometimes wrong. But when someone looks at the deficiencies we had last year, and how we were able to go 11-2, with wins over ND and OSU, and a BCS bowl win, and their conclusion is "man, look at how our OC held us back," then that person has an agenda, and an annoying one at that. Bollman has made mistakes too. SOME of the complaints have validity. But when OSU fans claim that every loss is entirely his responsibility, and that the players would win NCs every year if they just werent being held back, those people have an agenda. Albeit a much less annoying one than pining for a coach and a scheme that just got done losing 22 games in 3 years
Not sure how you can say that Not sure how you can say that with such certainty, considering RR used it less and less with him when he was here
Especially since it has taken Especially since it has taken him 4 years to START to get the zone read. For as freaking awesome as he is, he has some pretty major limitations that Borges has mostly done a great job compensating for.
There isnt much worse than There isnt much worse than the casual sports fan who always has to be That Guy who is smarter than his teams coaches, by comparing them to the coach who runs the amazing Hindsight scheme, where every play ever imagined can be run perfectly, without sacrificing anything else, because the closest the casual fan has come to coaching an actual football game is in a video game. At least in the case of OSU fans, they do this to Bollman, etc because they are being homers for their teams players, its even worse when That Guy does it because he is homering for some coach who really, really sucked.
What does Borges' pride have What does Borges' pride have to do with bubble or laser screens? Thats a stupid implication
Who are you referring to Who are you referring to exactly?
I feel the same way about I feel the same way about criticisms of our OC from people who have never coached a day in their life, or played a down of college football

No, they were not renewed. No, they were not renewed. Thats why it was news then, and the only reason it was news again was that kiffin confirmed it and it was reported as them being "pulled," when in fact nothing had changed. And looking a little further into this, it appears that these kids knew this was the situation last year when they were put on scholarship, and all of them will end up getting renewed
Once again, that is not a Once again, that is not a fact. For the second time, he did not pull anything. For the second time, they simply have not been renewed yet. Considering their scholarship situation, and since this is pretty common practice, it is likely that they were told that the scholarships might not be renewed when they were given to them last year. But to be clear, thats just speculation on my part, I would have to be a real douche to come on here and make definitive claims that werent true
He didnt pull anything. Two He didnt pull anything. Two of them will certainly be renewed. The last one will only not be renewed if THREE currently academically ineligble players ALL become eligible. And even if that happens, its still not 100% that it wouldn't still get renewed. http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/usc/post/_/id/13871/tuesday-practic…

i dont know how much Hoke is i dont know how much Hoke is involved in evaluation relative to other HCs, but no matter what its way less than Belein just because 85>>>12(or however many they get in hoops) But its a lot easier to get ahead of the game scouting when you wrap up your classes in May, and he's definitely a big part of the reason we've been able to do that
Yeah this thread, and people Yeah this thread, and people not remembering texas being bad, makes me feel old. Meanwhile Michigan is the best example of "it can happen to anybody". While we were running a bowl streak up over 30 years, texas was having losing seasons and not winning their conference
You do realize they lost 12 You do realize they lost 12 games the last two years, right?
