SIAP: Is Jim Harbaugh Able to Donate to Champions Circle?

I’ve seen that former players are allowed to donate to NIL collectives but what about former coaches? Jim does seem like the kind of guy to donate if he’s allowed to do so. He donated over a million to athletic department employees a couple of years ago.

This is why Jim jumped to the NFL.  He can finally pay to help his players out without the NCAA, Warde or anyone else getting in his way.  Well done Coach Harbaugh!  You got the last laugh on these clowns.

I am forever thankful for the Natty, but he gutted the program.   I don't really think of him as a Michigan man anymore.   When has any coach ever went back to their roots....  then after success left and raided the cupboards like he has.    Even if things work out with the new staff, it just breaks my heart how he didn't just leave for himself...  he gutted the staff, and made it tough on the programs future.

A few years ago - perhaps after the 2021 season - Harbaugh requested that his eaned bonuses be allocated to members of the Athletic Department staff - specifically those who took reductions in pay associated with the broader Covid period.   This could be interpreted in a couple of different ways - but, I always respected the gesture.

As for donating to a collective - I don't see why there would be any limitation or restiction on his ability to do so.   And, if I were advising Jim - my suggestion would be - if a collective is a 501 (c) (3), there might be additional benefits around tax time.
