It's not often a Super Bowl-winning coach gets cashiered so soon after said triumph, but then throwing your team under the bus mid-game is a special kind of stupid.

Slight possibility he'll reunite with Joe Douglas in NY, although it's more likely he'll have to rehabilitate his image for a season or two away from the game.

Did Pederson tank on his own volition, or was it under pressure from upper management?  If it's the latter, that's brutal to then fire the head coach after following orders to tank.

Wentz kind of fell off a cliff this year. Statistically he looked pretty good in 2017, when the Eagles won the Super Bowl after he was hurt, but he's been getting worse every year since then.

He's only 28 so he may be able to turn things around, but I'm not convinced I'd keep him around.

I’m going to guess that most OSU fans won’t care that much now if he goes off to the league or to some other college. OSU somehow managed, two times in a row, to lose an all-time great coach and replace him with somebody better. Day has figured out how to balance OSU’s offense in a way that Meyer never could, and he is on the brink of winning a national title in only his second year. It took Meyer three to get to that point.

If Day had turned out to be a bust, or had lost to Michigan, yeah, I bet they’d be pissed. But as of right now, I don’t think they care too much what Meyer does. Especially if OSU wins tonight.

Pederson just shot to the top tier of available coaching candidates. He's the only dude other than Coughlin to beat Belichick and Brady in a Super Bowl and he did it with a backup QB.

High and mighty folks can complain about what Pederson did, but that loss will let them improve their sad WR corp with either Devonta Smith or Ja'Marr Chase. Win that meaningless game and they probably lose out on both of those guys.

Tough to believe he got fired in a year in which he literally had 4/5 starting OL out for every game. There isn’t a coach in the league that wins under those circumstances. I was willing to give Wentz a do-over too given this stat, but then Hurts showed that was a moot point. Pederson can clearly coach some offense. I would love it if the Lions paired him with Saleh.

Pederson could end up somewhere as a quality control assistant while living off his buyout. Then look for another team - someone will take a chance on a guy who won a SB more than they will care about tanking his last game to get a better pick.

This was clearly either keep Wentz or Doug - the owner obviously made his choice.
