Michigan will survive whether or not cable tv subs continue to crash, but oh my god I hope Delaney is booted because of it. That can't happen soon enough.

This isn't Delaney's fault; my guess is every noon game in the first round of a tournament on a weekday is probably not a hard ticket to find.  I would hazard a guess that getting a ticket to a game 10 years ago in this time slot would have been equally as cheap.

Again, this is the direction sports is going.  Maryland has been a good addition to the conference on both the football and basketball avenues; Rutgers is a tire-fire now but who the hell knows about the future.  I think Delaney has done a lot of bad things, but expansion honestly wasn't one of them.

Maryland resident bringing my 7 year old to his first basketball game - SO glad we have this opportunity.  FWIW - I know several folks from Big Ten schools going to the tournament.  On behalf of the the DC crowd - Thank you Big Ten.

Yeah, I don't know. The conference has expanded its footprint. Gates are not a material concern to overall revenues. Chicago Indy everything gets old.

This is not a very thoughtful post.  The $6 tickets are for nosebleeds for a Thursday, 12:00pm college basketball game at the Verizon center in DC, whose capacity is 18,300 (Crisler is 13,700).  DC is nowhere near Illinois or Michigan and although there are plenty of alumni from both schools in the area, the arena wont be anywhere close to capacity. They could give those tickets away for free and it still wouldn;t sell out.

For comparison sake, the ACC tournament is at the Barclay Center in NYC and similar nosebleed tickets for the VT/Wake Forest and UVA/Pittsburg matchups are also $6...and those games are at 7pm and 9pm!

College basketball, outside of March Madness, is very regional.  Supply and Demand determined those prices, not Jim Delaney.
