No MGoPreview tour this year?
I was surprised to see in the latest NYC Alumni Association email that this years in person football preview event will be held by Cody Stavenhagen and Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic, instead of Brian who has been making the rounds to Chicago, NYC, and DC for this event for a number of years. No offense to The Athletic - I subscribe and enjoy the writing there - but it's way less appealing to have this event with an Oklahoman who just started on the Michigan beat last month and a national writer for USA Today over someone who has lived and died with the ins and outs of this team for decades.
What's the story there Brian/staff? The Athletic buy out the event or did you just decide to take a year off?
I've heard Brian is too busy working out a deal with Chatsports to combine forces. Pretty soon it will be mgoblog.chatsports.com apparently.
A move that would probably be well-received if people liked the chatsports site format better.
Revealed: the real reason up/down voting isn't working.
You know Nicole Auerbach was the football beat reporter for the Daily, right?
Yes but is now a national writer for USA Today and The Athletic, not as plugged into the day to day of Michigan at the moment. Stavenhagen is the new beat writer from Oklahoma.
You really think she no longer follows Michigan football? You've got a prominent alum who works as a national sportswriter. She's absolutely a great pick for an AAUM event.
Sounds like there is little reason to attend for anyone who reads this blog then.
My wife is pregnant and her due date is the 12th. I expect to resume duties next year.
Congratulations. Best wishes for a healthy little one.
Glad there is a NSFW reason for missing the duties.
So if you've got a Braylon, obviously you're going to need a Devin, right?
No, this baby is gonna be a Junior not just because he/she will be the younger sib, but who better to catch jump balls from his/her big brother Denard Robinson Cook?
Great job with procreation Brian. All the best.
Good luck with #2.
I'm doing the Chicago event (Aug 22).
So what's the deal on this? I would like to attend. Is it open to the public?
