Man this would really suck… Man this would really suck if true as he was probably a frontrunner to start next year. Timing is kind of unfortunate too. Big time win on the road against a rival and then this comes out the next day?!?
Love JB

Most underrated coach in college basketball. Glad he's leading our team and university.

Matt Canada Canada and LSU have reached a mutual agreement to part ways, per LSU beat reporter Ross Dellenger.
Welp...

I definitely chose the wrong career path...

Also would have never guessed

Also would have never guessed that the leading WR would only have 307 yards...

Reallocated

I would assume Jay would be moving back to coaching TE's. It seemed like he was more successful at that position

Yikes

Aranda better have that "Remember the Titans" defense next season then...

Greg Roman

Per Ian Rapoport on Twitter:

"One coach who is no longer under contract and will be a free agent: #Ravens Senior Offensive Assistant Greg Roman. Possible OC choice."

Offensive Philosophy

There's no doubt that Shea has raw talent, but I think his success depends on the offense that we'll be running in the future. If we continue with this current offense, I'm hesitant to annoit Shea as the savior as I'm not sure if he's ever taken a snap under center. However, if the rumors are true and Michigan is planning on adding more pistol-offense plays, then his athleticism will really come in handy, especially during those broken-down plays (which we saw way too many of this season).

Banned

So I guess I got banned from posting new content. Sorry guys, didn't think it'd get this out of hand.

Again I apologize. I did not Again I apologize. I did not see any posts regarding ChatSports while I was browsing this past year, likely due to my inconsistent activity. Will be more careful in the future with postings.
You got most of them. Only information missing is the potential hiring of current Cinci D-Line coach Al Washington (who has experience as a RB coach). The millennial in me checked who he’s following on Twitter and it’s the UM staff plus Urban Meyer for whatever reason. And lastly, what perhaps worries me most, is the info that Alabama is trying to hire Chris Partridge (likely due to his great recruiting skills).
Well that I did not know. I

Well that I did not know. I apologize. I just recently became active on MGoBlog at the start of this year. I'll take it down.

You're right, it is.

You're right, it is. And I understand that they aren't the most reliable source. But the information contained within this specific video matches up well with what is being discussed on Rivals/Scout. Sorry for trying to help those who may not have access to those other sites.

Agreed

I read that as well. I was honestly shocked that we did not have a WR coach for this year. Now it is not a huge surprise why our receivers struggled getting open this year. Yes experience plays a role, but so does technique. As for RB coach, we'll see who Harbaugh has in mind. Most likely, Jay is moving back to TE coach.

Staff Chemistry

I heard this as well. Needless to say, the loss of Fisch and Wheatley were larger than what Harbaugh probably anticipated.

Info Source

I got my information from the "pay to play" UM forums, as Berkly@MainMan put it (247/Scout and Rivals). However, I'm flattered that whoever that Reddit user is copied and pasted exactly what I wrote above.

Banner + Parade

Apparently this is more than just a playful jab: http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/21951014/ucf-knights-ra…

No Idea

That I do not know, but honestly good riddance. However, it makes me question whether either coach really gave 100% effort with the team during Bowl Prep. That game had the same feeling as DJ Durkin preparing for OSU after already accepting the Maryland job.

Livers

Absolutely fantastic performance by Isaiah Livers! Hit so many clutch shots as Iowa was making runs. Hopefully Jordan Poole follows suit as B1G play continues! Also great to see Simpson and MAAR play well together. Very impressive to do it with Wagner having arguably his worst game in 2 years. Go Blue!

Philosophy Shift

Regardless of who he hires/fires at the OC position, Harbaugh is going to need to sit down and really think about the type of offense he wants to run moving forward because that is how you base your recruiting. Clearly, his current offense is archaic and only works with NFL-caliber players who can execute at exceptional levels. You have mobile QB's in Patterson and McCaffrey, pretty athletic WR's in DPJ, Black, and Collins so the pieces are there if he wants to permanently change to a more hybrid offense. I'm hesitant on anointing Shea as the savior if Harbaugh stays with this offense because I'm not sure if Shea has ever taken a snap under center. Ole Miss was a strictly shotgun-based, run-and-gun type offense.

Regardless, something needs to be done about this offense. It's Year 3 and we only had 9 passing touchdowns this season. That, no matter how you want to spin it, is completely unacceptable. We'll see what happens.

Virginia

A toaster to counter the turnover chain? Really? Smh...

Barry Alvarez

I know he's a Badger through and through, but that line "What, do you think I'm a Michigan grad?" after not having a quick answer to the playoff expansion question, was pretty funny.

Gotcha

Thanks! I just read it also doesn't matter if the # of games are uneven. So Iowa's 1-2 record still trumps ours unfortunately. Man that game was a long time ago and we are about to bear its ugly consequence.

4 Way Tie At 10-8?

If Purdue beats NW, Maryland beats MSU, UM beats Nebraska, and Iowa beats PSU (all probably the favored outcomes), there would be a 4-way tie at 10-8 in the conference. I'm not doubting your knowledge, but am interested as to how that tiebreaker would work and why we'd be the 8 seed?

Xavier Simpson

Aside from the wins, the thing I've enjoyed most is seeing X's increased confidence on the ball. Had a nice layup and a great drop off to Mark Donnal today. He's getting much better at running the high pick-and-roll which is great to see!

HAIL YEAH

Any night we beat those floor-slapping bums is a good night. The intensity tonight from Derrick Walton was something I've never seen before from him. He wanted this win bad and he deserved it.

There was a thread last night

There was a thread last night in which all candidates were listed. Check it out! Should be near the top of MGoBoard.

Red Flag

It's very alarming when a basketball team cannot get motivated for a must-win home game against its struggling archrival.

Winning Cures All

Yeah I know, I tend to watch a lot of UVA games. I just love the way his team plays defense. Gives them a chance in every game.

Love Tony Bennett

UVA just gave him a 7 year deal with a buyout of 3 million. Don't think he'd want to "start over" but maybe the competitiveness of ACC basketball is getting on his nerves :)

This^^^^

Absolutely nailed it. I highly doubt the athletic department will be willing to pay potentially 10-15 million dollars just for buyouts.

To make matters worse...

Thad Matta: I mean, 35 of 51 shots were 3's... my gosh"

Gregg Marshall or Archie Miller

If this university wants to get serious about the trajectory of this program, I think Archie Miller would be a great candidate, along with Gregg Marshall as you mentioned. Main problem standing in the way of either a Marshall or Miller hiring is Beilein's buyout cost AND Archie or Gregg's buyout from their recent extensions. Those would be the two "homerun" coaches in my opinion.
