College football’s biggest flaw is by far its obsession with morality. This is why the announcers never talk about the actual game. Other teams don’t have players who grew up in extreme poverty? I’ve found the NFL refreshing in this regard. 

They’ve always been a dirty team. Their LB destroyed Newsome’s leg on a dirty hit and he almost lost his leg.

Back to back years with short term setbacks equals a real setback. 

Defense wasn’t prepared for their offense. Maybe lack of depth at DT hurt. I think Winovich and Gary were hurt. Either that or they just played poorly. 

Offensively, they weren’t prepared for a shootout. Patterson and Gentry played poorly. Still, the coaches must be prepared for a shootout. Little offensive mostions, no reverses, no confusion for the OSU safeties, etc. 

All the recruiting writers have him pegged for Michigan, but you’re not expecting it.

He has an "arachnoid cyst," a condition with no observable symptoms. Further, he just starts banging on his head this season, amidst a national scandal, but has had this condition for "years."

Either it's an unlikely coincidence or he's planning his escape/greasing the escape chute. He'd be more discriminant if he was staying for next season. He has to convince recruits otherwise and he's slamming on his head like he's possessed on national TV. 

Also, it's not like this year is actually more stressful for him. He's shown he's indignant about the scandal and cares much more about winning.

Further, Tom Allen looked like an idiot pumping up his team. Screw him, screw number 72, screw number 42, and screw number 43. The kicking the ball from the refs' hand should've been an unsportsmanlike at the very least. The BIG won't do anything, but the refs letting Indiana get away with dirty hits and cheap play led to the head-hunting.

Six years of oline problems, then the ND game should lead most rational fans into the BPONE. 

SIX YEARS. 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Calling for Harbaugh after ND was ridiculous, but the disappointment and BPONE about the oline was RATIONAL man.

I think you’re wrong about the SD schools and right about Santa Barbara. USD’s campus is much better than UCSD’s.

UCSD is a concrete jungle and USD has a beautiful campus. Both have the same time to get to the beach (UCSD is on a cliff). La Jolla is a tourist trap, La Jolla shores is the real beach town (mainly a beach and nice restaurants), and UTC, where UCSD is, is a plastic strip mall/mall. There’s no place for students to hangout and the campus is pretty isolated. No one lives on/near campus too. UCSD is known as (UC socially dead) for a reason. 

Paying players isn’t unethical.

18-24 (or 30 for BYU) year old men should be able to make money from playing football. They’re entertainers. This is entertainment. 

Get ready for an annoying, possibly anxiety ridden MSU game. 

Their game plan might be similar to ND’s, lob it deep on 50/50 balls and use their mobile QB. 

And that game is between Wisconsin and PSU, two good teams at home. This is still a hard schedule.

I was at the game and this play happened right in front of us. The WR was the only one aware that the ball was in the air. 

It would’ve been a completion without the dirty play. It was also the dirtiest targeting I’ve seen. The SDSU player launched directly at number 84’s head. 

But does this play not symbolize the current state of college football? 

The evolution of Michigan’s offense based on recruiting (Giles Jackson) and what we’ve seen on the field so far. 

The board is a tire fire.

There is no other coach we could want and the program needs stability. 

The offense was bad mostly because of tackle the play and then play calling. The defense had some odd calls, made stupid mistakes and just got unlucky. 

Big (lucky) plays and a weak offensive showing by UM was the only way ND was going to win. That’s exactly what happened. Suck it up. Good teams lose games to other good teams all the time. 

Runyan seemed to blow a lot of run blocks too.

Can someone explain the difference between this and Izzy/Dantonio/MSU? 

Is it that there here is more evidence that Urban knew? Is it that OSU is higher profile? 

Meyer instantly hired Kevin Wilson amidst player abuse allegations. He showed his hand by doing so. 

I know no OSU coach has retired without scandal or being fired, but this won’t do it. The only chance is that there’s a huge scandal lurking and this forces outsiders to look critically at the program leading to a reveal. (This is nothing more than a fantasy.)

The Najee Harris recruitment is an analogy of Michigan football the last three years. Michigan is so close in nearly every aspect but something comes up at the last second to pull it away. (Think of every game we lost last year minus PSU, OSU’16 game, MSU’15 game, etc...) 

Culture and stability take time to build. Meanwhile, fans and analysts think Michigan will always be 8th or our division or some shit because they don’t understand the wreck of a program this was three years ago (plus they don’t watch the games). We shouldn’t expect the college football landscape to remain static (remember “Clemsoning”?). We shouldn’t expect Michigan to remain so close to being a great team but never following through. Things will eventually bounce our way.

I’d go with something shorter, like Dasgupta’s book (I have it but haven’t read it yet). Being good with your eecs 203 (discrete math) should help too.
