The only correct response to…

The only correct response to the ncaa is f**k off. The U, State Penn, AL, FSU, MS ST, LSU, USC all told them that and they said - great! OK!

SMU, OSU, Boston College, ASU, etc. all cooperated and the ncaa used what the schools gave them to hang them.

ncaa is a joke and we should tell them to f**k off.

The flip side to the…

The flip side to the comments about not wanting to put a lot on film for opponents is to put a lot on film so that opponents have to practice for all of it.

"The only school in the conference that has done less than PSU, (despite an NC) with their record of talent acquisition - is located in Columbus."

Please take off the maize colored glasses.

OSU has appeared in like 4 or 5 of the playoffs, they have only lost a total of like 4 or 5 B1G games in 10 or 11 years, and have finished every season since 2011 ranked within the top 5 or so.

They are far and away the best team in the B1G, 2021 not withstanding.

Nice work. I've always liked the idea of fluid conference membership and have never thought of a tier type program!

Great point Raleigh. I can't imagine the B1G standing pat with only 2 West Coast teams.

You are exactly correct ak! Kelly was an a$$hole. Also, I think the nil deals that players have already received confirms for players that the promise of an nil deal after you get here is justified.

Worked in education and…

Worked in education and fared ok. When the pandemic hit we went remote in March 2020 but returned to a blend in the fall of 2020 by student choice of on campus or remote - about 95% chose on-campus which surprised us on the high end. In order to have fewer people on campus, administrative positions were kept remote.

At first, since I have been able to work remotely for years, it was great. But gradually realized that the new on campus structure was requiring me to be available many more hours and administering the covid protocols and communication became more of a 7 day a week, 15-16 hour day.

Being near retirement age, I elected to retire early. After posting my position and having few qualified applicants, I was asked to stay on for an additional year while they found a qualified candidate.

To do so, they allowed me to continue to work from home but with a restricted hours/day schedule and terminated my ongoing contract paying out all accrued benefits which were substantial for a 26 year employee. They also restarted a new contract and when I left at the end of the year also paid out all of those accrued benefits which were again pretty substantial for a one year contract.

In the end, they did find a very good replacement but I am pretty certain they had to pay him quite well for the position. In general, the school overall has had issues with replacing teachers but has managed to do a pretty good job covering all bases.

Can't believe he is still employed? Very bad look for the Michigan.

Exactly KC. It is all about…

Exactly KC. It is all about money. Michigan would have beaten Ohio State in a dome, or at the Orange or Fiesta Bowl. They still threw for around 400 yards but got totally manhandled at the line of scrimmage. It had little to do with weather.

I also think these ratings…

I also think these ratings gave them a hit for losing potentially two first round draft picks at wide receiver - but they will more than likely not miss a beat with the guys replacing them.

Wouldn't put too much stock…

Wouldn't put too much stock in any stats from Vandy. How would he have done had it been say Kansas, or UConn or Duke instead of Vandy? Probably not going to make a huge impact on a bottom feeder - especially in year one. We will just have to wait and see - he might be great - and then again...but I think at worst we will still be very solid.

I think he had offers from WVa, Pitt, Louisville, Purdue, Cincinnati, and a handful of MAC schools.

Ringer - I agree with your…

Ringer - I agree with your take - - from what I've seen reported - and I have no idea if it is accurate - the sentiment was that Jim went to the interview and took it as a formality that he had the job and a contract was coming. The Vikings took him through their normal interview process and did not make an offer. I think it is a bad look for the program -especially in the short term. If we follow-up last year with another great season - no one will remember it. If we fail to perform next year - everyone will remember it.

Agree Go Blue - that would make no sense at all. Almost as bad as asking your coach to tank games for the top draft pick!

While I give him credit for…

While I give him credit for making improvements, the overall record is underwhelming. I think he knows that last year was probably going to be the high point in his time here - at least in the near term. I also know that the NFL hiring schedule is out of his control, it seems to me that the way he has gone about this is indifferent at best toward Michigan, I would have expected more from him. If he was that set upon going to the NFL, he should have said that right after the playoffs and not allowed this to drag on.

The GOAT - no one else even…

The GOAT - no one else even close. At 44 to even have this decision is mind blowing. No doubt he can continue to perform at a high level and move the bar even higher - but even as it stands today, it will be decades - if ever - that someone matches what he has done.

Fickell IS NOT COMING here…

Fickell IS NOT COMING here. He will stay at UC. I don't believe money is a huge motivating factor for him at this time. From some of the stuff I've read his wife and 6 kids love the Cincinnati area, they have rolled out the red carpet for him, and they are getting ready to join the Big 12.

Aranda is not leaving Baylor…

Aranda is not leaving Baylor after the work he put in to change the culture - at least not in year three. Fickell is not coming here - UC is going to the Big 12, and they have rolled out the red carpet to get him to stay. I think he has his eye on OSU when Day leaves. Hafley from Boston College would be interesting, or Jim Leonhard from WI.

Fickell is not coming here and after what Aranda has gone through his first two years, I'd be very surprised if he left. Hafley might be a good option,

Fickell is not coming here…

Fickell is not coming here. Period.

I think he is doing what he…

I think he is doing what he thinks best for he and his family. He is a smart guy and knows he just finished a year where he regained a great deal of leverage. Given his age and the realities of college football in 2022 (NIL, transfer portal, recruiting), he may never have another opportunity like he does this year. I don't believe it will impact the team at all.

JH may have some issues…

JH may have some issues working against him but I still think he has a few years left to go to the NFL if he wishes. Corporations/NFL teams at times need a turnaround CEO and that is what Harbaugh is. You may not want him long-term, but to right the ship, he could still be very valuable. So playing it out like this, I think, is really just him doing his due diligence. He is also in a position that his stock may never be higher than it is right now so I think this is a wise move on his part.

Isn't signing day on…

Isn't signing day on Wednesday? Two days from now?

Agree M. JH is no dummy…

Agree M. JH is no dummy. While last year probably pushed his stock as high as it has been for a while, he will have some major obstacles to overcome to be able to repeat that in the next few years. A loss of key players and coaches, uncertainty with the transfer portal and NIL are contributing factors. I'm not saying he can't do it, but he will have an even larger target on his back going forward and may feel like his stock may never be higher.

Fickell is not coming here.

Condensing into just numbers…

Condensing into just numbers from 247:
National Rank: OSU 4, PSU 6, Michigan 8
Avg Recruit:
Michigan 23 recruits for an average of 90.10
OSU 21 recruits for an average of 93.95
PSU 24 recruits for an average of 90.93

Top 100 recruits:
PSU 4, MI 3, OSU 10

Recruits ranked 101-200:

So not adding anything new - we are very close to PSU but OSU is another story.
