Steve Lorenz Crystal Ball for 4* LB Jordan Anthony today
http://247sports.com/Player/Jordan-Anthony-36686
4*
#116 Overall
#6 OLB
Currently at IMG Academy
For how highly touted he is... he seems to have generated less buzz than Singleton or Gay. I figured it was worth the update given that things still appear to be trending positive for us (Lorenz seems to do pretty well with CB's at 90% accurate). I think I read that he was going to make a December decision as well.

IMG pipeline!

Ballz across the nose... ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

With the December we could potentially have on the recruiting trail, I HIGHLY suggest taking advantage of 247 Sports free membership until the end of December.
These names are just a snapshot of who we could potentially land in December alone:
DPJ
Najee Harris
Alex Leatherwood
Ambry Thomas
Cesar Ruiz
JKP
Jordan Anthony

if I take advantage of this fantastic offer, will it increase our chances of landing top recruits?

Thought I would take you up on the 247 offer. BUT... They still charge you 149.95 nonrefundable that starts your actual membership Jan. 1 2017 So you actually get about 13 months for a 12 month memberhaip. But PAY you must!
Edit: Well tried the blockquote thing but fail. Just the first block is the quote. Old man issues I guess.

I get all my 'crootin' stuff here on MGoBlog and get paid to be here with MGoPoints.

This development is in line with some other insider chatter about Jordan Anthony. Huzzah for agreement
November 8th, 2016 at 2:17 PM ^
One reason for the lack of buzz is probably that the majority of his junior highlights are at running back, a position that he probably won't play in college - and those highlights aren't particularly impressive. He's also about 5'11", 220 lbs., so he's somewhat small-ish. I think he's overrated at #116, but we'll see.

Devin Bush Jr? They're about the same size right?
November 8th, 2016 at 5:57 PM ^
I'm somewhat unsure on Anthony. Personally, I think Bush is/was a better linebacker prospect, but a chunk of that is based on the fact that I saw a lot of him playing LB in high school. Anthony as a LB is somewhat unknown.

I'm not sure what CA linebacker you're referencing. I'll probably be doing some "If I had my druthers..." posts in the next few weeks, but out of the guys discussed here:
1. Baron Browning
2. Willie Gay
3. Drew Singleton
4. Jordan Anthony

I mean...we have a ton of offers out. Do we slow play a lot of them? Is there some sort of unwritten/ verbal agreement between coaches and the lesser rated kids that want to be here but we can't commit to them because we are waiting for the higher profile recruits to decide?
Do tell....

You're right that it's a juggling act. I can't really give you a good answer, because especially with Harbaugh, it changes from week to week or month to month. They seem to be constantly reviewing how their offer board looks. I mean, we saw last year that Victor Viramontes, Karan Higdon, Rashan Gary, etc. came right down to the wire. Gary almost picked Clemson. Higdon almost picked Iowa. Viramontes was quite possibly going to re-commit to Michigan except Michigan didn't send him an NLI to fax in, so he signed with Cal.

With Hammerin' Panda leaving after this year, anyone else think Harbaugh might try Asiasi out at FB? We seem pretty stacked at TE, and I love that dude's combo of size and speed.

I think it might be my first ever! Popped my cherry!
November 8th, 2016 at 4:00 PM ^
That's a great carry to TD ratio but that doesn't make an NFL fullback. He's still got plenty of development to do before he's an asset to an NFL team worthy of a high draft pick--which rarely get spent on FBs in the first place.
November 8th, 2016 at 3:20 PM ^
When was the last time we saw someone high on the depth chart move to FB? I can't remember any, ever.
November 8th, 2016 at 4:05 PM ^
November 8th, 2016 at 5:13 PM ^
Aaron Shea wasn't seeing the field at TE when he moved to FB.
November 8th, 2016 at 6:08 PM ^
Both are very good prospects, but I love the way Willie Gay plays. I think Browning is probably the better player, but Gay is the type of kid who flies around the field and makes plays that I think will get you up out of your seat. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

He has a pretty good offer list based on what I saw including Michigan, Clemson, Auburn, Oklahoma, UGA, PSU, Louisville, LSU, OSU, and Florida.

Huh? I wasn't referring to Browning at all (didn't even know he was brought up in this thread). I was responding to Magnus post about him being overrated. Just wanted to point out that at least Anthony's offer list is pretty solid too.
November 8th, 2016 at 6:10 PM ^
I agree that he has a very good offer list, but his highlights are practically devoid of linebacker highlights. I don't really know how he's rated so highly when he doesn't even play much linebacker.
November 8th, 2016 at 2:59 PM ^
Overrated due to size? Athleticism? Football instincts?
November 8th, 2016 at 3:21 PM ^
But given the level of competition his highlights at running back are fairly impressive. I do wish there was more out there on his defensive snaps.
November 8th, 2016 at 6:12 PM ^
I'm not saying he looks bad at RB, but he doesn't look like the #116 player in the country.

You give me one game...
...I give you his full junior highlights:

Feel free to watch him play offense almost the entire time (plus a couple plays on kickoff coverage).
November 9th, 2016 at 12:35 PM ^
You are correct; he doesn't look all that great at LB. Maybe that's why he leaves defense out of his highlight tapes.
Could be he's really coachable, though.

All these stud LBs. Loving the defense for years to come!!

Can't wait for the Gay balls to start coming our way.
(I mean, I can't, but mostly I just wanted to say that.)

It's unfortunate that his first name isn't Hard.
