Men's Lacrosse @#2 Maryland 1PM **on the U**

Men's lacrosse takes on the defending national champion Maryland Terrapins today at 1PM. The game will air on ESPNU. This is the toughest game remaining on Michigan's schedule (but it doesn't get that much easier) and Michigan has never beaten the Terps. A win today would be absolutely huge for their tournament chances.

Here's the thing though: Maryland is down from their recent peak in which they were literally unbeatable and one of the all-time great dynasties but...they are still insanely good.  Last year they went undefeated and won the title and that was after a 2021 campaign in which they lost just one game- an insane down-to-the-wire thriller vs Virginia in the NCAA final. So far this season, they're ranked #2 in the country, got upset by Loyola in the opener, lost to a great ND team in triple overtime but then took down #1 Virginia two weeks ago.

Michigan has had an up-and-down season so far and is coming off a disappointing 15-11 loss to Hopkins in which they seemed like the better team for three quarters. It seems to be like they have to clean up mental mistakes and turnovers and make a lot of adjustments on defense to help their goalie.  They'll have to play close to a perfect game today to knock off the Terps.  GO BLUE!!

7-6 U-M at the half. We had killed off two pushes; MD appeared to get away with one just after.

We've scored twice to start the 3rd. 9-6 U-M.

And again! 10-6. After going scoreless for 12 min and change after our 7th goal.

Tough goal to give up in the last 10 seconds, but an incredible 3rd quarter has the good guys going into the 4th with a 3 goal lead, 11-8.

Michigan is playing out of its mind. And the decision to change goalies is looking good so far.

Being up 11-8 going into the 4th is almost nothing against a program like Maryland, but it's better than being down.

They will have to get a couple more lucky bounces to pull this one out.

Great team effort so far against the defending National champs, and the current #2 team in the country.  15-10 with just over 3 minutes to play.  Keep it going - would be biggest win in program history.  At College Park!!  Let's Go Blue
