Marlon Davidson 5* DE potential visit

Submitted by Losher on

Accoding to the 247  board Marlon Davidson is supposed to be visiting michigan soon, but there has been no talk of the visit on here. He was one of the surprise visitors to the Summer Swarm camp held in prattville and expressed a decent amount of interest in michigan, visiting the campus, and spending more time talking to the coaches and getting to know them better.

So if anyone has an idea what is going on here feel free to share the information with the rest of the board.

Now we see the real reason Malzahn, Saban, and the rest of the SEC cabal were terrified.  Put a human ball of energy that is JMFH into a public forum like the sateliite camps and let him run around shirtless and be so different and charismatic, and you have the makings of 10 super solid commits in like 15 days, several of them from SEC country.

I had thought it was in July but I could be wrong. I haven't seen anything on Scout about it so if he is coming 247sports must know something we don't.

Think about the impact of all of these "2 star/3star" players getting scholarships.  Everyone, myself included, thought it was just a chance to steal the 4/5 stars in SEC land.  Nope.  If I am a father of a kid from a school in the south and I was told not to go and my kids ends up at Troy State or Middle Tn State am I wondering what if?

How do they tell their kids that they can't attend, when kids are going who probably cannot afford to take a visit to M are getting scholarships.

It is brilliant.  I am sure M had some idea about these kids prior to the camp, but no question the camp sealed the deal for both parties.

I know the SEC and NCAA will probably put an end to it, but they look like even bigger pieces of shit.  Small town, rural kids from the South, West and East are getting a free look at M and vice versa.

This is not just Davidson specifically, but it is pretty amazing how the Summer Swarm continues to pay now with visits from recruits, and as someone said above, I also believe that this perhaps one of the things that really worried the SEC at least a little bit - the competition for more highly touted talent in their typical reach that might otherwise end up in their conference. I think you can see Roll Tide Roll's server smoking from here...

Kids down here in the south have no idea there is a big wide world out there. You can't possibly understand how insulated this place is even in this day and age of Internet and globalization. They grow up knowing nothing about anything outside the region and Bama/Auburn are the only two things that exist. We've planted a flag and we've created interest. It's only going to mean good things. A full day with a staff like ours is more than enough to ignite legitimate interest in a lot of these kids. They just never knew it existed before, now that's over and done with--regardless of whether these camps are allowed to go on in future years. You can't undo this. Just wait until some kids from this region have success and the people here know about it. The pipeline is officially open.

It was mentioned, only you know... on the front page.

Great to get these guys on campus, just think he is a big Bama/Auburn lean. Would be nice to have Gary and Davidson on the same line/class though.
