GameDay Parking
We're going to the game tomorrow, but have to get home quickly afterwards. As someone who has spent waaaay too much time parked on Main St, does anyone have tips on lots to park in that aren't egregously far away, but have quick-ish access to the highway to get home?
Thanks

Park on the south end of Main St. south side of Scio Church Rd. There is a little plaza, a church down there. A few other parking options. Close to I-94. It is a 15-20 minute walk, but I always park down there when I need out ASAP

I've parked there before, but couldn't remember exactly where. Usually I don't have to drive and therefore don't really have to think about it.
This is exactly what I'm going to do.
Follow-up: How much hell will it be getting down Main at around 10am? Can I avoid that by coming in via 94?

I live in Lansing and always take the slightly longer way by coming in from 94. I have zero interest in dealing with Main St. You would be pushing it at 10 AM though to answer your question. Expecially with the excitement of the new season.

I used to live in Lansing near Holt and commuted to Ypsilanti for 2 years. The extra 10 minutes taking I94 was worth the scenery.

This is what I was going to say. There is a grassy lot there which I believe is $15 and it's definitely <10 minutes walk from the stadium. I tailgated there a few times and it was really a nice area. You don't even see it from the road.

Get there early. Park low and toward the exit.
If you leave right at the end of the game (it's a half a mile walk there) you will not spend much time at all in traffic coming north up Main.
Seems like it shouldn't work but it does.

What I tend to do is park near 7th st and Scio Church road. I then take Scio Church road out to Zeeb, and then North on Zeeb to 94. I am heading West though, not sure where you are trying to get back to.

I always post the same general idea in these threads:
Ann Arbor is a small city of 100K. It's not very big. You should *never* wait in a line of cars. It almost always makes sense to go around the congestion. deejaydan's route is a good example if you're headed west.
If it's near game time, I'd avoid I-94 between Jackson road and US-23, South Main, and South State Street.

i apologize for posting here, as I dont have enough points to start a new thread. in town with the littles ones (3 and 5), my parents and inlaws. we are staying at the bell tower. the plan is to head to the jug aroud 8 (kids are up anyways) for some beer and eggs, maybe swing by dominicks, and then the walk to the stadium. does anyone know if there are any tailgates on the golf course that we could possibly join? i remember seeing an alumni tailgate a few years back, but that might have been a homecoming game. any other suggestions for early morning pre game fun? we could buy a case for the adults and some snacks for the kids and just hang out on the golf course. just not sure how i feel about that. i do think that a green grass field migh be a bit better suited for the young ones than the jug. but i want my fun as well.
