BBall managers to play in manager elite 8 tournament in San Antonio - Gofundme link
Pretty sure this or something similar was a scam, no? According to comments on here.
Yuhhhh new song soon know I had to do it to em eskeditttt
has to be legit, one of my favorite ESPN pieces:

Former and current UM basketball players are promoting it. Could they really all be wrong? Maybe I'm naive.
I believe the reason the last thread did not go well was because it was presented as helping the managers travel with the team to the Final Four because the school can't cover that. Which is not what this is fundraising for at all, so people objected.
makes sense to me. students don't have a ton of money and this is a fun event they can't afford without help from sponsors. i get the objections/ill will if the previous post was deliberately or even accidentally worded to confuse the issue, but if it was just sloppy writing and the link at the gofundme was clearer, it seems like a fairly unobjectionable use of gofundme and the kind of thing michigan fans generally are supportive of.
Fundraising that is not approved by the moms should be sent to Bolivia.

Fuck GoFundMe on MGoBlog. Its very annoying, we all have some issues going on for sure........But I would never ask strangers for money....what a freaking joke. Forgive me for my shitty punctuation. (I've been drinking heavily)
When the fuck did "gee, I can't afford this so I guess I'll either not fucking do it or I'll work my fucking ass off to afford it" become "beg the internet for money"? For fuck's sake.

Good luck to them, but
The night before NCAA basketball games, another game takes place. A game between the managers of the two teams.

This year, thanks to our fans voting and support, we have made it back to the Elite Eight and have been invited to play in the games in San Antonio! To be able to attend this year would be incredibly special considering the team will also be there competing in the NCAA Final Four!
has made this more confusing than how it's been relayed by players and related parties. It's a fundraiser to get guys to be able to play against other managers. Which is cool, but all I saw about this was that the NCAA wasn't letting them go and the University wouldn't pay for it and the insinuation was that the basketball managers couldn't go to the FF, which isn't the case.
I'd give money, perhaps, if it was made clear where the $5k number comes from and why they can't play there already since the team will actually be there and the managers, I assume, are allowed to come as well. If this could somehow be better communicated, you might find a more receptive audience.
