Yeah, what's apparent is that in both of these cases, and likely with most of the other dads, is that Harbaugh really wins the trust of the boys' fathers. Most of them are roughly the same age as JH and he seems to develop a genuine friendship with them. Not sure how this approach helps recruiting overall but with certain individuals--and especially with the types of kids we want in the program--it must really help.
Paramount to winning is that Harbaugh represents the university and the program and his players with tremendous character and perspective. He gets it. There is nobody else out there who I would want running the program.
That Dwight Hicks story is so Detroit Lions. I don't know what happened, but the Lions drafted him and likely tried to lowball him so bad on his rookie offer that he decided to hop to the CFL for a year. Then he goes on to a Pro Bowl career with multiple Super Bowl rings. Pretty sure that was back when Russ Thomas was running things for old man Ford whom the story goes was given ownership of the Lions by his family because they didn't want him fucking up their auto company. Forty years later and they are still totally incompetent.
As my '85 B.A. from Michigan will attest, I am a highly intelligent person, but I stared at that 5th Factor chart for 5 minutes and have no fucking idea what it is supposed to be telling me. Just use words please.
I have no problem with Happ. He plays hard but clean and the dude is an absolute magician around the basket. Those first five or six baskets were beautiful. I think he gets worn down because they use him so much and Teske's size got to him in the second half. Even then his footwork was beautiful but the ball just wouldn't go in. That team will be a tough out for anybody.
"Well hell ya know we test for that stuff and sometimes just about anything can happen and who's to say if a sample got contaminated basically anywhere and I really only been over there to talk to them once or twice praise Jesus."
Absolutely boggles the mind that Patterson's case was tightly adjudicated over the course of months and the Red Sea parts for Fields as soon as he arrives on campus.
I would say the NCAA is setting themselves up for chaos next year because a hundred guys who are upset at their place on the depth chart are going to start hearing bad things said about them. But then I realize that it's the NCAA, an absolutely corrupt whore of an organization, and they have no qualms about ruling inconsistently across the board. The difference between the Michigan and OSU approaches to the waiver rule is that Michigan didn't pay anyone.
He'll get another and better TV gig doing the NFL. Even acknowledging our bias, Charles is good-looking, smooth, a slick dresser, and now a Hall of Famer. Somebody will pick him up.
What makes it worse is this guy has a choir boy reputation off the court, which means he's 100% full of shit on a TV preacher level. Anyone who does this and also goes full speed bag on a guy's nutsack in the run of play is just a little prick.
Almost all of the players on the worst NFL team are better than the best players on the best college team. Also they are 5 to 10 years older. And they have better coaches.
I agree with others that he should only go back to school if he has a clear plan toward a professional degree (i.e. accounting, law, engineering). In non-professional careers employers may ask about education, but on day 1 at the job nobody cares where you went to school or what your grades were--they just want you to do the job well.
Think about this. Those hype tactics used by sports media machines used to work on you too, back when you were about 11 years old. While you have moved on from said mindset, most of America is still stuck in that. The bar is low.
Sure didn't seem like Michigan really pursued Dobbs all that hard. There has to be more to that story. And it sounds like Brown just really liked Wisconsin. Can't win 'em all.
Also I have a feeling that Michigan is very upfront with kids on what their values are and what expectations they place on guys in the program. Some kids just want to play football, have fun, and meet girls. Nothing terribly wrong with that but those type kids could be real turned off by what Michigan is selling and ultimately we would not want them anyway because they are probably not going to make it here.
Goodell is so obviously a tool and a lackey of the NFL owners and he just gives off the appearance of a guy who would ascend to the chairmanship of the Good Old Boys Club. Plus he gets $40 million a year to be incompetent at an easy job.
So is this upcoming recruiting cycle considered the 2020 class? And does it include the two 5-star linemen at Clarkston (one of them Mark Spindler's son). We've got to lock those guys up before they do something stupid like go to MSU or that shithole dumbbell factory down in central Ohio.
First time driving in California I rented a car at the San Jose airport and started down toward Monterey. By the time I was halfway there I was experiencing a sense of bafflement and rage at the horrible drivers. It was like the stereotype of Californians--completely stuck in their own heads and not giving a shit about what anyone else does or thinks.
On the subject of generators, sort of, I recommend you have a gas range/oven. First, it's just better cooking with gas because it gives you much more control. And second it works when there is no electricity. Of course you should also have a propane grill but on a night like this you don't want to be out there flipping burgers.
What an idiot. Aside from going against the spirit of this thread, it is just plain unintelligible.
Anywho, Gerald Ford remained deeply proud of his Michigan Football background his whole life and he was good friends with Bo. Apparently after his death his body was laid in state in Washington D.C. before being flown back to Grand Rapids for burial. As Air Force 1 flew across Michigan the pilot diverted the path directly over Michigan Stadium and did a wing waggle salute.

Hindsight history is more satisfying, apparently.

You have a terrible night on the road in the B1G you are almost always going to lose. Next.
Maybe there is a real-life Dexter out there killing all the serial killers!

Well whoever the hell they are, as long as a couple of them do nothing but analyze Ohio State from now until next November.
Then again it is Cleveland.
Oh. So you are John Galt.

Two best buddies giving the fans one last thrill at the end of the game. If they're not having fun what is anyone doing this for?
Sounds like the perfect Beilein player. Let's get him. He'll be here for the home game against MSU so the atmosphere should be electric.

Fuck the NCAA. It would be a relatively easy investigation that could catch these fucks red-handed but they just let it continue unabated.
I wouldn't do it.
M.C. Burton would like to weigh in...

Sounds like this one.
Rutgers has the potential to be really good in basketball. There is a whole lot of talent in the northeast.
My first thought on seeing that photo was "why is Greg Oden's Dad playing basketball for Rutgers?"

Lots of pretty little lies being shoved down their throats for basically their whole lives, so it's almost understandable.
Best one in a long time.
Ask Chris Webber.
Okay I'll admit I enjoyed "Downton Abbey," but it seemed like everything this guy touched turned to shit:
No. They're just Canadian.

Didn't Vilhelm Vagner and Karl Kerska win gold for Deutschland in two-man bobsled at the last Olympics?

I for one will immediately begin calling him William Vagner.
