02/18/2019 - 11:35am I feel like Kenny Goins is…

I feel like Kenny Goins is Gavin Schilling Reincarnated. I keep thinking that Goins has been there forever, this is probably why.

01/24/2019 - 10:30am Why is this? Not arguing,…

Why is this? Not arguing, just curious. I remember when Virginia lost, I was bummed that it was them that lost. Largely, they are a team with a good coach who built up a middling program into a relative powerhouse without recruiting exceptionally well. To me that seems like a team to root for. I would have much rather seen a team like Duke or Kentucky lose even though they have like 4 future NBA all stars.

01/23/2019 - 2:01pm If you reference scoring as…

If you reference scoring as your clear point of determining offensive value, it is probably not worth arguing with you because you don't understand the in's and out's of the game, but I'll bite. The team has drastically improved by getting Henry and Gabe Brown more minutes since Langford's injury. And yes, he is their worst offensive player in their generous 10 man rotation according to Kenpom's Offensive Rating (Which I'm sure you don't have because all the information you could ever need is in the box score). He has a 106 offensive rating, most good offensive players are at least around 115.

In fact, if you consider the top teams in the B1G: Michigan, MSU, Maryland, Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska, Langford is only a better offensive player than Matthews and Charles Thomas of Wisconsin when considering significant contributors (20% or higher usage). And that is with him missing a large portion of the B1G season. He is simply not a good offensive player.

It would obviously be worth having him back for depth purposes, but that is largely it.

01/22/2019 - 1:51pm Are you suggesting that…

Are you suggesting that Langford may be their best player? Get out of here with that nonsense. Just a shooter and even that is generous given that his True shooting % is worse than everyone except for Goins out of their contributors. He doesn't rebound, he has more TO's than assists and he is literally the worst offensive player on the team. Even if you give him the lofty praise of being their "best defender", the team defense has went from 29th the day he got injured to 9th now so he can't be too important on that end.

MSU is likely better without Langford unless you consider depth purposes, but if the only reason you would rather have a guy back is for depth, he is no where near your best player.

01/11/2019 - 12:27pm I'm with you. I don't quite…

I'm with you. I don't quite understand the thought of Illinois playing small lineups all night. My thought was that they had a traditional big on the court for almost the entirety of the game.

12/18/2018 - 11:49pm It was something like 8 of…

It was something like 8 of the top 15 teams in the country struggled for at least a significant portion of their games against inferior opponents on Saturday. Not all games are going to look pretty, and not all will seem super encouraging, but the best teams simply win and Michigan has done that while simultaneously looking very impressive for the most part. The critics of this team at this point are simply searching for something to complain about.

12/03/2018 - 3:15pm I think UNC eventually works…

I think UNC eventually works themselves back up near or in the top 10. That will be a really good win at season end. Hell, with how bad the Big East is, maybe even Villanova gets back in that range.

11/01/2018 - 11:56am I don't know about this. If…

I don't know about this. If they lost this week, and LSU won out and went to the SEC championship game, I see it as likely that Bama is left out if all else goes somewhat to plan. Last year's circumstances were different. It was either Bama, who didn't play in their championship game or a 2-loss conference champ. With the current situation of Undefeated Clemson, Undefeated ND, 1 Loss SEC champ, 1-loss B1G champ, and 1-loss Big 12 champ, there is just too much to overcome for 4 spots in the case of Bama, even if a couple of those teams lost once the rest of the way.

If we won out, Clemson lost once but still won the ACC, and ND won out, is Bama overtaking any of them with their whopping 0 elite wins? I think not.

10/30/2018 - 12:24pm Think you are…

Think you are misinterpreting what he is saying. I believe he is saying that LSU could also be in front of Notre Dame, not that Notre Dame would be ahead of us which is a near certainty and not at all a bold claim.

10/21/2018 - 2:35pm So Florida jumped UCF…

So Florida jumped UCF because they looked so impressive during their bye?

09/16/2018 - 11:02am Thompson is a no brainer…

Thompson is a no brainer. Lindsay if you are expected to lose and need the upside. Otherwise, I'm going with Alf and McCoy as they should get solid production

09/01/2018 - 11:41pm You are wrong on this one…

Duplicate. sorry

09/01/2018 - 11:41pm You are wrong on this one…

You are wrong on this one. You aren't wrong that the tackles were bad, because they certainly are. But this loss is certainly on the coaching staff. Honestly, now that I look back on it, most of the losses over the last two years have been. Everyone knows that the tackles are bad, yet we don't adjust for that fact until the damn backup is in. How long are we going to force Shea to sit in a pocket that can't stand up? Mccaffrey comes in and we start to roll him out and give him easy routes to throw. It's like Harbaugh thinks that the first team O, no matter who it is, should be able to run a pro-style offense, but when a backup QB comes in, he recognizes that we have to make things easier with the shitty O-line play. Same thing happened with O'Korn against Purdue and Peters against Rutgers.

UMBig11 said that if we want to blame the offensive system, we need to blame Harbaugh, and it's about damn time that he starts taking criticism. His stubbornness with his system is what lost us this game. Get Shea outside the pocket, throw more to allow the art of surprise to spring Higdon, and for the love of god: Stop thinking that our tackles can protect a QB in the pocket, because they clearly can't. An entire fanbase sees the flaw with this team, it's about time that our supposed quarterback whisperer recognizes the realities as well.

08/14/2018 - 9:12am Let's not do this. You can't…

Let's not do this. You can't judge the impact of an injury based on what you see from your couch. It isn't always the biggest hits that cause injuries, and even the most commonplace tackles can lead to injury. In addition, the reaction of the player cannot always indicate the severity either. I remember a few years back when Jay Cutler got hurt in the NFC championship game and came out. He was simply standing on the sideline watching the rest of the game and the entire Bears fanbase and media crucified him for it, only to find out that he had a torn MCL.

My point is, neither you or I know how serious an injury is, so to accuse BP of faking an injury to sit for the rest of the game, especially seeing as how he ended up missing OSU because of the same concussion, is in bad form. Michigan has already had one bad instance of having a guy play with a concussion, we don't need another.

08/01/2018 - 10:43am To be fair, I think the…

To be fair, I think the large percentage of Alabama predictions are simply based on Oklahoma being out of it, meaning that the 79% CB share they had as of June had to go somewhere and Bama is always the safe bet. Most insiders believe that it is a Michigan-Bama battle, without really anyone knowing which way the kid is leaning.

07/26/2018 - 4:17pm When it comes to Bell, can…

When it comes to Bell, can you blame him? The man has no mandate to go to camp because of his franchise tag, and is willing to wait it out and not risk injury in order to hopefully prolong his very short career. Personally, I don't see the similarities between the two situations at all.

07/26/2018 - 12:15pm Which would even go more…

Which would even go more towards my point that he is a top ten pick. He has similar stats to a guy who went in the top 10 and was pretty much all potential.

07/26/2018 - 12:13pm Najee Harris was enrolled in…

Najee Harris was enrolled in school and had his dorm room. It is a reasonable mistake to make to assume he would be attending Michigan, and even then Sam came short of issuing his "gut feeling" which is his way of saying "It's happening". This is a bad take man.

07/25/2018 - 3:38pm I don't know if your take on…

I don't know if your take on Gary is entirely accurate. Teams still draft on potential a lot of the time, especially when it comes to positions of pure athleticism such as pass rushers. Leonard Floyd was drafted #9 as an early entry by the bears and his Sophomore season (second to last) equated to 55 total tackles, 8.5 TFL, and 6 sacks. Gary's same season equated to 58 tackles, 11.5 TFL, and 5.5 sacks.

Floyd didn't blow the doors off in terms of production his final year either, and given Gary's absolutely ridiculous measurables, I would be shocked if he wasn't a top 10 pick barring injury.

Ballsy, picking the favorite with only two teams left. Don't get too crazy.

It seems like England's only offense for the last 60 minutes or so has been boot it long and hope Sterling outruns Vida. Croatia has absolutely dominated this second half.

Came here to comment the same thing. David Long is talked about way less than a top 5 corner in the country should be.

I traveled to Geneva once, very nice City. Far too expensive for my liking but the close proximity to Chamonix makes it completely worth it.

I tend to avoid watching highlights of top recruits unless I think there is a legitimate chance. I caved and watched him, he is like a missile out there. Would be a massive get.

Thanks! Any idea on when the third transfer will be announced  (Assuming Crawford and Walker)?

07/05/2018 - 10:31am Please stop trying to…

Please stop trying to pretend that there are two different people supporting each other's comments with these two accounts. It is very clear that you are both accounts. Please just stop it and continue to post from one account.

06/26/2018 - 9:38am This is not a loyalty…

This is not a loyalty comment, but as one of the bigger NFL fans on this board, I can tell you that Gholston's contract last year was very heavily criticized. Those opinions were backed up when he had 0 sacks in 14 games. Many people were utterly shocked that he was not cut in March when they had the chance to avoid paying him.

In terms of it being very rare to have a player make it five years in the NFL, it actually isn't for players drafted in the 4th round or higher. In Gholston's 2013 draft class, 87 of the 132 drafted players in those 4 rounds are currently still in the league, or roughly 2/3rds of them. Not saying that he doesn't have anything to be proud of, but acting as though him still being around and getting a second contract is such a rare achievment is a stretch.

06/26/2018 - 8:40am There are a couple of nice…

There are a couple of nice plays in there, and sample size considered, but yikes. I felt embarrassed for him based on some of these reps. Obviously it is one 2 minute video in a camp setting, but if this is what we are missing out on, I'm okay with that.

06/25/2018 - 2:50pm I hate them as much as the…

I hate them as much as the next guy, but I don't see how you don't consider OSU on the top tier of recruiting based on their last few years. They seemingly get whoever they want. Maybe it's only because they've been hot for like a decade, maybe it's something more than that. But they have recruited on Alabama's level over the last 5 years.

06/25/2018 - 12:46pm Oh, I misunderstood. I…

Oh, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying that the scene wasn't real when you said it was "Wrong". I need to read better clearly.

06/25/2018 - 9:25am Nah, I'm pretty sure that…

Nah, I'm pretty sure that the post-credit scene took place WAY in the future, with both of them being host versions of themselves, simply running a fidelity test.

06/22/2018 - 4:54pm You are the one that says…

You are the one that says you always want to have a discussion about things. If you don't want to continue to discuss because of boredom, or because you have no valid argument, then fine. But don't do the classic " You can win", like I am a child that you are giving validation, it comes across as petty.

06/22/2018 - 4:06pm What do you mean? Every talk…

What do you mean? Every talk show host wants guests. Dan Patrick, Mike and Mike (or whatever they are now), Dan LeBatard, Skip Bayless, Stephen A., every talk show host no matter how good or bad wants to bring guests onto their show. I don't understand why you think credit should be given to Colin for bringing on a guest and berating him about nonsensical issues.

What exactly is the mob mentality that you speak of? Simply because a vast majority of people see the flaws of something doesn't mean it is a mob mentality. If you believe that he is fine most of the time, okay. Don't however act like the rest of us have no reason to base our criticisms on. For me, his John Wall rampage was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen, he didn't like that he danced before his first game and carried out like a 6 year vendetta against him that often times was borderline racist.

But even if you can find a way to look past everything he has said in the past, how can you defend him with this clip staring you in the face. Your only responses to this video is giving him credit for bringing a guest onto the show. But what is your actual opinion on what he was saying?

06/22/2018 - 3:03pm It clearly wasn't his intent…

It clearly wasn't his intent to have Baker defend himself. He was utterly shocked and unprepared when the response started. His intent was to bring a guy on, sit up on his pedestal, find something pointless and stupid to criticize him for, and have Mayfield fall in line and give the politically correct response. Why in the world would you give someone credit for that? And the argument of "That's what talk show hosts do" is stupid. The few good talk show hosts out there don't nitpick minor and irrelevant stuff and then change the topic just to maintain their superiority complex. Cowherd occasionally has a take that makes him seem better than the Stephen A's or Skips of the world, but this was a showing of journalistic amateurism.

06/22/2018 - 1:25pm Oh come on. You can't…

Oh come on. You can't possibly defend Colin on this. He took aim at Baker for something stupid and Mayfield didn't put up with it. And then, clearly flustered, Cowherd starts talking about how this is a sign that he won't be able to hit small windows in the NFL because he didn't run a celebrate with his teammates in this one clip. This was a clear situation where Cowherd had an agenda that Baker absolutely shit on, and he wasn't prepared for any other material. He got called out for amateur journalism.

06/21/2018 - 9:45am These two afternoon matches…

These two afternoon matches are super intriguing to me. I decided to hop on the Croatian bandwagon before the tourney, hoping they can get a win and seal up their fate in the round of 16. Also would like to see Peru snag a point and keep their hopes alive.

06/21/2018 - 8:40am I like this take. You hate…

I like this take. You hate him because he caused troubles for your team. Similarly to Urban Meyer (among other reasons to hate him) or Jim Tressel. If good players or coaches hurt your teams chances of winning, then that is reason enough to hate them. I get it, and agree.

06/20/2018 - 4:53pm I understand all that, and…

I understand all that, and appreciate the responses. I just have never heard one reason why people who say that hate Lebron or can't stand him actually feel that way that makes any sense, including the two people above who said that. I guess it just supports your pedestal argument, or just the common thought of wanting to have a contrarian viewpoint on something great.

06/20/2018 - 3:07pm Okay, I am not sure I…

Okay, I am not sure I understand your response. Are you saying that you don't think that is an issue? That you believe there is no problem of misinformation in the modern day conversation? If that is the case, you clearly have not seen my Facebook feed then, as it is full of people spouting off about random articles or memes they find on the internet that are factually incorrect.

06/20/2018 - 2:39pm Speaking of discussions, why…

Speaking of discussions, why do people so strongly dislike LeBron? I have never really understood it. I look at it as a guy who was a superstar at 16, and has had zero problems off the court, which is surprising in our modern culture. He seems to be a great husband and father, and no matter where you place him on your rankings, is certainly one of the top 5 basketball players of all time.

So why the dislike? Is it because he whines on the court? He certainly does, but so do most players in the league because they get away with it and get rewarded for it. Is it because of his "shenanigans" with the decision? If the worst thing the guy did was make a cocky television spectacle of a free agent decision that raised a shit ton of money for charity, I think there are far worse things. Is it because the media hypes him up the way they do? I understand that, but it isn't exactly his fault.

I truly want to hear reasoning behind why LeBron has earned his spot on so many people's "I can't stand him" list.

06/20/2018 - 2:31pm Agreed completely. When…

Agreed completely. When people change their opinions based on new information being added, many consider that to be a negative thing, I personally think it is a wonderful trait. Topics that are heard on sports radio are meant to drum up discussions because both sides have valid points. Instead of having meaningful discussion of the facts before deciding what side you fall on, people just choose and fight till the death about it.

06/20/2018 - 2:22pm The thing that tends to…

The thing that tends to bother me (and this refers to all types of conversations, not just sports, politics, etc.) is the rising willingness to use simply misinformed or non-researched opinions. Disagreement will never bother me, but persuasion tactics with invalid information gets to me.

06/19/2018 - 8:45am Are we attempting to win…

Are we attempting to win this game as an alliance (Based on the limited amount of turns left)? Or is there a set date where it is every man for themselves?

06/14/2018 - 12:05pm This prediction is looking…

This prediction is looking good! ;)

06/14/2018 - 12:03pm It also seems like his…

It also seems like his troubles seemed to humble him a bit. The guys on tour say he has become far friendlier and more fun to be around. I hope the same transition occurred when it comes to the fans.

06/14/2018 - 12:00pm Our friend group has grown…

Our friend group has grown to hate Spieth. There are so many likable guys on tour, why choose to like the whiner? I think I would also despise playing with him. He talks the entire time. Give me Rickie, Rose, Kuch, Day, or Phil any day of the week over Jordan.

06/04/2018 - 9:22am Why would Hoston do this?

Why would Hoston do this? They already have essentially the same thing in Capela, who is younger and more mobile, and even though they would have to match the big offer he gets this off season, it's not like Drummond is a cheap guy to have on the books.
