Seriously what do you expect Hinton to say?

08/13/2018 - 4:42pm I'm willing to bet he won't.

I'm willing to bet he won't.

08/13/2018 - 3:54pm LOL. Zero power 5 offers.

LOL. Zero power 5 offers.

08/13/2018 - 3:53pm Another huge reach by this…

Another huge reach by this staff. Taking Ronnie Bell at the end of a cycle is one thing, taking guys like Kent , Woods, and Velazquez before the season even starts is another. Feels like laziness. Also expect the "look at his offer list" folks to move on to the next argument. Probably like trust the coaches or some bullshit.

What's tiresome is the board police who feel the need to chastise anyone and everyone who don't shit maize and blue colored rainbows.

Oh get out of here. Stars matter just ask Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. What a joke this is.

Yeah, love the fact we took the kid with no power fives offers instead of the two top 100 recruits.

Weird because that describes our football program perfectly over the last 15 years.

Right, which means that year is an outlier.

2015: Brian Cole, Grant Perry

2016: Ahmir Mitchell, Eddie McDoom, Nate Johnson, Kekoa Crawford

2018: Ronnie Bell

2019: Quintel Kent, George Johnson

That's pitiful.

Guys who have left from the 2016 recruiting class:

Kekoa Crawford

Elysee Mbem Bossee

Kingston Davis

Ahmir Mitchell

08/07/2018 - 5:47pm You didn't watch film, you…

You didn't watch film, you watched a highlight tape. Everyone's highlight tape looks good. Click on any Rutgers commit and his highlight tape will look just as good.

08/07/2018 - 5:45pm Kevin Grady was a 5 star…

Kevin Grady was a 5 star recruit who was well on his way towards contributing before injuries and the coaching change. His high school tape was good as was his freshman year at Michigan.

08/07/2018 - 1:16pm I have to laugh at the "i…

I have to laugh at the "i love his tape" people. This isn't tape, this is a highlight film. Click on any prospect with a 247 profile and watch their highlight film and it will look good to most people. Tape is every play from several games.

I personally hope this kid blows my expectations for him out of the water, but the more likely scenario is that he's an average at best player at UM.

08/05/2018 - 3:55pm Kent’s high school St…

Kent’s high school St Edwards is probably the most heavily scouted high school in Ohio. Bill Greene said his ranking is accurate. No other power 5 coach offered, so the “look at his offer” list crowd has moved onto their next argument...trust the coaches. God forbid anyone has an original thought of their own.

08/05/2018 - 10:01am If that's the best part they…

If that's the best part they should have never accepted his commitment.

08/05/2018 - 9:57am No it's not. Look at the…

No it's not. Look at the 2016 WR class, the 2018 WR class, and the 2019 WR class. The 2017 class is the outlier at this point.

08/05/2018 - 9:54am Beilien recruiting >…

Beilien recruiting > Harbaugh recruiting.

08/04/2018 - 11:20pm No shit Harbaugh liked him,…

No shit Harbaugh liked him, they offered the kid a scholarship and accepted his commitment. That doesn't change anything Greene said about him though.

08/04/2018 - 11:18pm Those stats may be true or…

He played in more than three games last year and Bill Greene never posted such a thing. Good try.

08/04/2018 - 11:15pm Good physical traits? He's 6…

Good physical traits? He's 6 feet tall with a 27 inch vertical jump and runs a 4.6 40.

08/04/2018 - 11:12pm He won MVP at Michigan's…

He won MVP at Michigan's camp against who? Who were the other WR's he was competing against? And I didn't misquote anyone. He did say he was "solid and dependable" so yeah, glowing endorsement right there. Next time you want to accuse me of misquoting someone make sure I actually do it. Clown.

08/04/2018 - 8:01pm This class was supposed to…

This class was supposed to be top 10. It's looking like another class that barely finished in the top 20. Are we really paying Harbaugh 7 million to recruit like this and finish 3rd in the division every year?

08/04/2018 - 7:40pm Gee I don't know, ask OSU,…

Gee I don't know, ask OSU, Clemson, Bama, OU, and Georgia.

08/04/2018 - 4:59pm Bill Greene saw him last…

Bill Greene saw him last year and said that he thinks he's rated properly and he can understand why people would question the offer. That's pretty much word for word what he wrote FWIW.

08/04/2018 - 4:56pm That great, but literally…

That great, but literally all those guys you listed were 4 and 5 star recruits. So I'm not sure how this is supposed to alleviate the concerns about the WR we're recruiting over this year's class and last years.

08/04/2018 - 4:55pm Why did the QB's get injured…

Why did the QB's get injured? Because the OL sucked. Why did the OL suck? Because the scheme was too complicated and they recruited zero tackles in the 2016 recruiting class. Why did we have to rely on a bunch of freshman WR's? Because the WR's they signed in 2016 weren't any good.

I'm kind of over all the excuses for this coaching staff to be honest.

08/04/2018 - 4:43pm So Wisconsin WR recruiting…

So Wisconsin WR recruiting is now the bar in Ann Arbor? Great.

08/04/2018 - 4:41pm Still have room for Jaden…

Still have room for Jaden McDaniels?

08/04/2018 - 4:32pm Are these the same coaches…

Are these the same coaches that schemed up a whopping two touchdown passes for WR's last year? Just checking.

08/04/2018 - 4:32pm I'd rather have Manningham,…

I'd rather have Manningham, Avant, Terrell, Walker, Funchess, Breaston, etc clones.

08/04/2018 - 4:31pm I LOVE the 2017 WR class,…

I LOVE the 2017 WR class, but you do realize that those guys aren't going to be here forever right? We've gotten four WR commits over the last 3 classes -two whom didn't have any power 5 offers, one whom is a high school quarterback, and the last of which isn't getting here for another two years. All of them are 3 star recruits. None of them are taller than 6 feet. You have to restock the cupboards every year. If you think this is an acceptable level of recruiting at Michigan then let's just agree to disagree.

08/04/2018 - 3:46pm Kent is rated outside the…

Kent is rated outside the top 1000 by 24/7 and doesn't have a composite ranking or another Power 5 offer.

So he's this year's Ronnie Bell? Shouldn't Jim Harbaugh, who I think we all agree is a top 5 coach in the country, be able to recruit better at the WR position than this?

Very happy for this kid, but WR recruiting is borderline atrocious right now.

08/04/2018 - 3:24pm COMMITS. None.

FURTHER…

COMMITS. None.

FURTHER NEEDS. Michigan needs two or three WRs. Outside preferably.

RECRUITS. This is grim. I don't think there's a single crystal ball out for Michigan at WR. There certainly hasn't been one since November started. And there are few targets out there Michigan is even mentioned with. Michigan likely to be just a hat on the table for a USC-boundKyle Ford; ditto except for Florida State for FL WR John Dunmore. Dunmore was scheduled to be up this weekend, but with the spring game canceled that trip probably is as well. Michigandidn't even draw mention in a Wiltfong article about IN WR David Bell three days ago. MD WRJohn Metchie is supposed to be on campus this weekend—again, maybe—and is one of those guys who's been to a particular school a ton (PSU in this case) and will be an uphill climb for anyone else.

There are two guys who have recently been on campus. 3* CT WR Cornelius Johnson took an unofficial, but the shape of his recruitment doesn't look particularly promising:

Next up for Johnson is an April 25 visit to California. He also is scheduling a return trip to Notre Dame, and with Penn State offering Monday, a return visit to Happy Valley could take place. He is also looking at trips to West Virginia, Northwestern and Duke.

ND has three crystal ball predictions, FWIW. TX WR Dylan Wright took a swing through Michigan and Notre Dame, and did say Michigan was certainly in line for an officialafterwards. That's all you can hope for as an out of region prospect, but Michigan would need 4-5 guys in Wright's position to expect to land one.

That is the entire WR board until Michigan starts firing out offers to three stars.

In all likelihood Michigan's entire skill position class is going to consist of fliers, late bloomers, sleepers, guys who recently emerged from a coma, and the like. These are the wages of having the worst passing offense imaginable and not having a WR coach who can go on the road to recruit until you hire… uh… Jim McElwain.

08/04/2018 - 2:49pm I don't see how moving a kid…

I don't see how moving a kid they recruited to play DB to WR solves anything. The fact is two of the last three WR commits they have taken didn't have any power 5 offers, the other is a high school quarterback. They are recruiting the position exactly how Brian predicted they would when McElwain was hired. They better pray they land Kyle Ford because if they don't they are in deep trouble IMO.

08/04/2018 - 2:35pm Not panicking just being…

Not panicking just being realistic. I don't know how anyone can look at WR recruiting this class and last and not be concerned.

08/04/2018 - 2:22pm His offer list is Bowling…

His offer list is Bowling Green, Kent State, Eastern Kentucky, and Ball State.

I'm scared shitless what the WR room is going to look like when the 2017 class is gone.

08/01/2018 - 5:45pm uh huh, sure.

uh huh, sure.

Why were their commitments accepted in the first place.

08/01/2018 - 12:46pm He might have known but not …

He might have known but not "known" if you catch up my drift. Regardless, he couldn't fire the guy and didn't lie about it to the media.

Good catch. He's replying to himself now. How sad.
