Just the basketball fanbase?

01/08/2019 - 11:48am Absolutely correct!  I'm…

Absolutely correct!  I'm certain we can get a good LB coach and a good recruiter - we may even have someone on the staff who can be promoted.  We heard a lot about Al Washington's recruiting (mostly from Sam Webb), but if the 24/7 "recruited by" column is correct, the assistants we better keep are Sheronne Moore, Chris Partridge, Ed Warinner, and...(gasp) Jay Harbaugh!

01/08/2019 - 11:37am Billy Donlon left the…

Billy Donlon left the University of Michigan and John Beilein to work for the Northwestern University basketball program with Chris Collins.  Sometimes there is more to these decisions.  Presumably, you would go with the experienced coach with a track record, but things happen.

With the defensive performances at OSU and the Peach bowl, is it really the wrong side? Perhaps there were necessary changes on both sides.

Well...at least Michigan has beaten Franks before.  Can't say that about Haskins.

I don't think it offended him...I think he's just disagreeing with you. There is far more evidence that Shea throws thet better deep pass. He has his flaws, but that isn't one of them.

12/30/2018 - 11:27am Agree with most of what you…

Agree with most of what you said, but Wimbush was 12/22 (54.5%) for 170, 1 TD & 1 int. He had some big passes, but those aren't Brady numbers. It's bad enough without embellishment.

Don't think Enos was around long enough to realize anything. Did he even make it to Ann Arbor?

I'm certain that non- scholarship students have given far more to the University of Michigan than scholarship athletes...see Stephen Ross...jusy  saying...

You're dad needs to find a new team....sorry, just salty.

12/23/2018 - 11:16am I wouldn't take much from…

I wouldn't take much from thier game in Norman. Oklahoma finished the season with the 108th ranked defense behind powerhouses such as Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Rice, and pretty much everyone else. It will be a tough game, as service academies always are, but OU couldn't stop anyone this year ( and still made it to the playoffs).

12/21/2018 - 4:34pm I don’t think it’s sour…

I don’t think it’s sour grapes.  Michigan has a great class, and it seems like everyone is pretty pleased with signing day.  As a previous poster said, come with a reason for your opinion and people (probably) won’t neg.  A take of “he’s a vol, man” will likely get negged.  It gets negged further when the poster being negged publicly complains.

Now, I’m not surprised they’ve been down so long; there are several reasons, including Alabama, Georgia, etc.  I think Mullen will bring Florida back as well, so I don’t see a significant positive trajectory for UT in the SEC.

12/12/2018 - 3:56pm The NFL benefits from NCAA…

The NFL benefits from NCAA football nearly as much as the NCAA.  They get a free development league - schools (through ticket, mdse sales) pay for the coaches, workout facilities, etc. - NFL doesn't have to pay for anything and gets to audition the best players for at least 3 years.  The players should be compensated for their work, but I'm not sure an NFL feeder league is necessary.

12/12/2018 - 3:44pm Unfortunately, what you are…

Unfortunately, what you are describing is not unique to SEC schools.

12/11/2018 - 5:21pm Huge assumption that an OSU…

Huge assumption that an OSU fanboy could make it to the 8th grade.  Maybe in Ohio, but if this person lives in Michigan, no way could he advance to that level.

12/11/2018 - 2:06pm All same has ever said is…

All same has ever said is that he's a great player..excellent talent...game changer.  I'm sure he was very excited that Dax originally chose Michigan, but why would he have to save face?  He didn't lose the recruit.  Was it his job to keep Dax committed to Michigan?

12/11/2018 - 12:06pm So you're saying there's a…

So you're saying there's a chance?!

12/09/2018 - 2:40pm Yes - because there is more…

Yes - because there is more to life than football. If you're as good as he is supposed to be, he will get to the NFL playing anywhere. Why wouldn't you want the better combination of big time football and education?  Frankly, if I were a parent with a child with that level of talent, I would advise looking at a limited pool of schools - Michigan, Stanford, ND, Texas, USC, and a few others.

12/09/2018 - 10:34am This is the perfect post for…

This is the perfect post for myopic Michigan fans. Great job!  Were you posting it for the 11 point basketball win yesterday, the 10-2 football season, during which Michigan beat PSU, MSU, and Wisconsin (I know, they are all terrible and we should have beaten them by more points), or the OSU loss?

12/05/2018 - 9:42am And the three wins for day…

And the three wins for day were Oregon State, Rutgers, and TCU.  TCU looked like a great win, but a tough game.  I didn't realize TCU ended the year 6-6 with losses to Kansas and Texas Tech...ouch.

Hell, they'd even tear up Ohio State!  Look what Purdue did!

10/25/2018 - 11:02am This does not seem like an…

This does not seem like an accurate representation.  Perhaps there was some of this, but person 1 seems like a highly reasonable critic.  When challenged on this blog, I don't think many just respond with "settle down man."

There has been an awful lot of, "..better beat state and OSU...or....else" from many posters on this board.  Particularly at the end of last season and following the ND game this year.

10/17/2018 - 9:47am That's a huge IF.  When MSU…

That's a huge IF.  When MSU attempted the 2 pt conversion, there was 1 second on the clock.  The conversion was untimed, however the clock would start when any player touched the ball on the kickoff. It's likely that the 1 second would have run off (Spartan Bob no longer runs the clock).  It seems that this was MSU trying to get one point closer so that they could be defeated with dignity.

10/03/2018 - 10:29am If by "riot to listen to"…

If by "riot to listen to" you mean "makes me want to immediately turn off the radio" then I agree.  Even if he his valid points, his delivery is terrible and he comes off as bitter.

If I recall, Marcus played in the consecutive games in 1998 where the Michigan D was torched by Notre Dame's running QB and then Syrcuase's McNabb.  I remember that as the start of Michigan's inability to defend running quarterbacks.  I would like to here him discuss that sometime.  I remember watching those games coming off a national championship year.  What changed....oh, there was no Woodson covering the defensive backfield.

09/09/2018 - 9:51am Did you ever listen to…

Did you ever listen to Marcus when he was on WTKA?  This may actually be him.

A key point in your post is "...and this includes his 2016 nightmare season."  The nightmare season was 3-9!!  Of course there were probably not many one score games in that season, because they were so bad they went 3-9!

Nobody?!? had this game as a loss?  Not sure that's accurate.

Honestly, I saw Jim do that last year to his kicker.  However, he needs to get in the face of the Oline.

C'mon!  Don't tell people to put down the pitch forks!  I put all my money into "torch and pitchfork, Inc" after that Patterson fumble. Now I'm waiting for my 401K to really take off!

09/02/2018 - 12:09am Scheduling ND for the first…

Scheduling ND for the first game was a huge problem, especially given the circumstances .Game 1 for a new starter....on the road against a top 15 team is not the place to break him in.  Reminded me of the Utah game in 2015. Hopefully Patterson grows into the system like Jake did. Wish we would have been playing Arkansas at home today.

Those are board members who are prohibited from receiving funds to manage; they would likely have influence over selecting fund managers, so that makes sense.  Do the universities mentioned have the same rule for alumni or donors?  I suspect that they do not.

Yes, Michigan's performance under Beilein is light years apart from OSU's, including Holtmann's first year.  2 NCAA Tournament Championship game appearances is the best evidence one could point toward.  I think that's all that really needs to be said.

07/03/2018 - 10:29pm ...and Bill Clinton, Harvey…

...and Bill Clinton, Harvey Weinstein (big Obama and Hillary backer), Kevin Spacey, NY AG, Congressman Conyers, etc, etc.  Why do some act like only one political party has deviants.  Perhaps an agenda.

Did you hear the one about the sitting president who assaulted several women...then his wife, who was aware of everything, also ran for president?  You really can't make this stuff up!

07/02/2018 - 5:01pm Also, I don't think a city…

Also, I don't think a city in MI could charge a 4% income tax - legislative limits?  The highest is Detroit at 2.4% for residents and 1.2% for non-residents - you have to charge it to everyone and non-resident can only by 50% of the resident rate.  Residents pay if they work within or outside the city limits.

07/02/2018 - 4:54pm Ann Arbor considered an…

Ann Arbor considered an income tax several years ago, which would have to be approved in a local election.  The City conducted polling and the response was an overwhelming "NO" even with the provision that property tax would be drastically reduced (I believe that is in the City Charter).  People just don't trust any form of government to follow through on such items.  Although, an income tax would generate millions of dollars for the city given the number of non-resident commuters.
