01/09/2019 - 12:05pm Why would he take a step…

Why would he take a step back?

01/08/2019 - 1:21pm Prepare yourself now.

We…

Prepare yourself now.

We are weak on the DL and LB play will take a step next year.

Army brings back 20 starters from their best team in 70 years.

Plus they play a style that will seduce Harbaugh into trying to out muscle them instead of using our better skill players on the outside to rack up quick scores.

01/08/2019 - 1:16pm Beating OSU, even at 8-4,…

Beating OSU, even at 8-4, would satisfy me.

Getting 10 wins and losing bowl games and to OSU just rings hollow.

01/08/2019 - 11:49am Everyone will celebrate when…

Everyone will celebrate when we go 10-2 with losses to OSU and take your pick of PSU, ND, MSU, or even Army.

The "Muh 10 wins" crows will be fellating themselves.

01/08/2019 - 8:35am Ok.  Point taken.

But if…

Ok.  Point taken.

But if why is he paying Pep top level coordinator money when he won't let Pep have the freedom to call his own plays?

Then Harbaugh needs to get out of the way....

01/08/2019 - 7:42am Hard pass.

Hard pass.

01/08/2019 - 12:31am But the AD can certainly…

But the AD can certainly point out that the offensive staff isnt performing to expectations in his annual appraisal.

Harbaugh needs to hear that message.

01/08/2019 - 12:29am In his annual appraisal it…

In his annual appraisal it should be brought up that his top paid OC performed like garbage.  That is totally within the realm for your boss to bring up.

01/08/2019 - 12:26am Yep, that is our ceiling. …

Yep, that is our ceiling.  Good to know coach can get us there regularly.

01/08/2019 - 12:25am He hasn't fired Pep Hamilton…

He hasn't fired Pep Hamilton, the highest paid offensive assistant coach in America.

[Insert puke emoji]

01/08/2019 - 12:22am Not firing overpaid…

Not firing overpaid underperforming offensive staff.

01/08/2019 - 12:13am I don't want Harbaugh fired…

I don't want Harbaugh fired.

I want him to fire his overpaid underperforming offensive staff.  Pep Hamilton is literally the highest paid Offensive assistant or OC in the country.

Look it up on usa today assistant salaries.

Screw waiting for his buddies to get a golden parachute.  Fire incompetent staffers.

01/08/2019 - 12:07am When OSU loses to Purdue it…

When OSU loses to Purdue it is newsworthy.

When Michigan loses to OSU it is the norm for the past 20 years.

01/07/2019 - 11:58pm We didnt do shit when it…

We didnt do shit when it counted.

Take a look at the drive charts.  Michigan had 9 drives when we were tied or down by one score against OSU.  In those 9 drives we had 2 fieldgoals and a 7 yard td drive after the muffed a kickoff.

Don't let our 3 TDs in garbage time trick you into thinking the offense isnt a problem.

01/07/2019 - 8:12pm Well....

We havent even…

Well....

We havent even been to Indy so you tell me if OSU gives you a better chance of winning a title.  Since the late Clinton era this has been true...

01/07/2019 - 6:12pm Brady Hoke....

He checks…

Brady Hoke....

He checks all the Harbaugh boxes.

-recently fired nfl guy who is a michigan man too...

01/06/2019 - 3:40pm Not to mention most of us…

Not to mention most of us can see that 1.45 million a year for Pep Hamilton is outrageous given our offensive production.

01/06/2019 - 3:34pm Shea broke 300 passing yards…

Shea broke 300 passing yards 7 out 10 games at ole miss.  He averaged 42 passes a game with a low of 35 in those 7 games.

In 2018 he averaged 25 passes and only broke 35 one time, in the bowl game.

It certainly looks like Shea could be the qb to go for 400 a game.  But we will never know unless the OC game plans for it.

01/06/2019 - 3:06pm In 2015 we had 5 NFL OL on…

In 2015 we had 5 NFL OL on the field, Cole, Braden, Glasgow, Kalis, Magnusson.

In 2016 we had 4 NFL OL plus Bredeson who was a top 40 national recruit.  Braden, Bredeson, Cole, Kalis, Magnusson

In 2017 we took a step back.  We had 1 NFL OL in Cole, but Bredeson entered his 2nd year starting and Ceasar Ruiz was good enough to displace Cole (literally an NFL starter at C) back to LT.  Onwenu is a 4 star guy we will see if he gets NFL buzz and RT was a disaster between Ulizio, JBB, and Runyan.

In 2018 Bredeson was a captain and entered his 3rd year starting.  Ruiz and onwenu entered 2nd years.  Runyan got LT and ended up getting 2nd team all big ten and JBB was the RT.

We have had NFL talent on the OL.  So to me it is entirely a coaching issue.

01/06/2019 - 2:41pm It takes so long because we…

It takes so long because we huddle.

So we are un prepared for up tempo no huddle because it isnt practiced.

Huddles are obsolete imo.  Defenses don't use them, all 11 look to the sideline to get the play so offenses should be able to do that as well.

01/06/2019 - 2:34pm Good coaches adjust.

We…

Good coaches adjust.

We will see if Don Brown can adjust his system now that the key to beating it on film

As for Harbaugh, yeah we need make alot of adjustments on offense.

01/06/2019 - 2:18pm Don Brown has only been…

Don Brown has only been outlcassed 3 times in his 3 years, yeah it sucks that two of them were the last two games of the year.

How many times a year has pep's offense been outclassed?

01/06/2019 - 2:15pm Exactly, Pep will need to be…

Exactly, Pep will need to be fired beacause he is way overpaid.  He is the 9th highest paid assistant in the country and makes more than Don Brown.

Shoot, Jay Harbaugh makes 300K.  Where is he gonna go and get paid like that?  Nowhere, because nobody but daddy would pay him like that.

Jim McElwain made 300K last year for comparison.

01/06/2019 - 2:05pm 20 pts against Northeestern…

20 pts against Northeestern was not a good performance by the offense.

Purdue, Duke, Akron, Nebraska, ND, OSU, and Utah all scored more than that.  And MSU's electric offense scored 19 pts against them.

MSU finished 7-6 and Wisconsin finished 8-5.  They werent good teams this year.

We scored the most points against PSU all season with 42.  That was a nice win.

01/06/2019 - 1:53pm Which is crazy considering…

Which is crazy considering how many OL we've put in the nfl over the last 4 years.

Glasgow, Kalis, Magnuson, Braden, and Cole are all on NFL rosters.

And Bredeson, Ruiz, and probably Onyewu will get drafted.

So clearly we have NFL talent at the OL so why are we perpetually "not there yet with the OL"?

And as for Shea, he is good but clearly a tier below Tua, Haskins, Murray, Lawrence.  Better than Speight and Peters for sure.

01/06/2019 - 1:15pm Michigan hasnt thrown for…

Michigan hasnt thrown for 400 yards since the 2015 Indiana game. And has only done it 3 times in program history.

Michigan hasn't thrown for 300 yards since the 2016 Maryland game.

I agree we need to open up the offense but I dont think we have the qb to for 400 yards regularly

01/04/2019 - 10:03pm Eh one game suspension.  Not…

Eh one game suspension.  Not much to make of it.  I dont think its a big deal but a neither is a one game suspension.  I dont know if if this guy is a known hot head but im sure everyone can move on amicably.

01/04/2019 - 1:37pm Come on...

Deep in your…

Come on...

Deep in your heart of hearts you know he will get the waiver.

01/02/2019 - 2:19pm Yep.

Returning 20…

Yep.

Returning 20 starters from the program's best team in roughly 70 years.  I think us losing to them is when the wheels come off the wagon.

01/02/2019 - 12:25pm So daddy is taking care of…

So daddy is taking care of him.  Got it.

01/02/2019 - 10:42am I hate to say it, but moving…

I hate to say it, but moving from LB coach at Michigan to LB coach at OSU is probably a step up.  A small step, but a step nonetheless.

01/01/2019 - 11:23am Lol.

I can't believe…

Lol.

I can't believe people think the comment section on mgoblog can have any impact on the team.

Talk about feeling self important...

01/01/2019 - 11:20am To be fair we've been 2…

To be fair we've been 2 games away from the playoffs in 2016 and 2018.  If we had beat OSU both those years we would still have to beat Wisconsin in 2016 and Northwestern in 2018 in the championship game.

12/31/2018 - 7:22pm There are probably half a…

There are probably half a dozen high school coaches in Texas that could be OC and score 40+ a game with our offensive talent.  With Harbaugh here we dont need a recruiter for OC, we need a true innovative Xs and Os guy.

12/31/2018 - 12:28pm The concerning thing to me…

The concerning thing to me is that we blocked 2 punts and still got blown out.

Harbaugh has a lot of work to do this offseason.

12/31/2018 - 10:48am We have to play in Indy in…

We have to play in Indy in year 5.

We dont have to beat OSU, although one would think to get to you you would have to.  And we dont have to win the big ten championship game.  I just want to play in Indy.  I have low expectations going forward.

12/31/2018 - 10:43am Wisconsin and MSU were 7-5. …

Wisconsin and MSU were 7-5.  I'm glad we beat them but those arent great records.

Northwestern was 8-4, lost to Duke and Akron.  Dont let the fact that they won a terrible division cloud your judgement.

PSU at 9-3 is a nice win, especially given how we blew them out.

12/31/2018 - 10:37am Akron and Duke also beat…

Akron and Duke also beat Northwestern this year.  Dont let the fact that Northwestern won a garbage division make you think they were a noteworthy win.

12/30/2018 - 10:46pm Jake Butt got 500K in…

Jake Butt got 500K in insurance money.

I think of the university buys a nice loss of value insurance policy for the players then they should play

12/30/2018 - 10:39am Wisconsin and MSU were both…

Wisconsin and MSU were both 7-5, and PSU was 9-3.

Michigan should beat 7-5 teams consistently and the blowout of 9-3 PSU is a nice win no doubt about it.

12/29/2018 - 4:47pm Harbaugh is Bump Elliot.  A…

Harbaugh is Bump Elliot.  A program legend as a player but stale as a coach.

Bo was a total outsider who came in and took this program to another level when OSU was dominant.  We need new blood.  Rrod was the right idea but so poorly executed (we couldnt give him 250k for him to bring his d coordinator, but we gave Hoke 1M for Mattison) and had no institutional support.

Modern football favors passing based spread offenses.  We need an innovative coach who will embrace this

12/12/2018 - 1:05pm I dont like the 2 year cycle…

I dont like the 2 year cycle.  Any team in the lower division has virtually no chance to make the playoffs that year.

Not to mention Michigan probably gets relegated in 2017 and so for 2018 we have a "wasted" year trying to earn promotion.  We wouldnt have gotten Shea in that scenario.  Can you imagine the disaster that would be for recruiting in general?

2017 upper division record for Michigan

Losses: OSU, MSU, PSU, Wisconsin

Likely Losses: Oklahoma

Tossups: Iowa, Texas

If we dont get the right bounces we'd be down

12/09/2018 - 10:51pm Dont even try to equate RRod…

Dont even try to equate RRod with Bo.

When Bo's assistants told him that they had better facilities at Miami he responded by saying that Yost and Crisler hung their coats on these nails.

People can appreciate Michigan's history but have 0 connection.

RROD was an unmitigated disaster from his first press conference.

12/09/2018 - 7:19pm Bo was an outsider.  No ties…

Bo was an outsider.  No ties to UM yet he revitalized the program after 2 decades of insiders who couldnt hack it.

Bump was an all american athlete at UM and the quintessential "Michigan Man"

I think Harbaugh more resembles Bump than Bo at this point.  But you are right about the records...

12/09/2018 - 4:33pm Is it really cheating if the…

Is it really cheating if the NCAA has no interest in enforcing the rules?

Shit OSU is only the 3rd worse offender in our division.  MSU and PSU protected serial rapsists/sexual abusers for decades and what was the punishment?  A slap on the wrist for PSU and nothing for MSU.

OSU did get one season vacated, but they let knowlingly ineligible players play in a bowl game if they promised to serve a suspension the next year.  What a joke.

I say do what ever it takes to win on the field and let the lawyers deal with the feckless NCAA

12/09/2018 - 4:26pm How many of the 45 academic…

How many of the 45 academic all big ten are scholarship athletes?

I'm willing to bet 28 or more are walk ons

12/09/2018 - 4:24pm My honest opinion is that…

My honest opinion is that Harbaugh is more like Bump Elliot than Bo Schembechler at this point.

12/09/2018 - 4:21pm My legit opinion is that the…

My legit opinion is that the pre ww2 games shouldnt really count.  They happened of course, but college football significantly changed in the postwar period.

11/28/2018 - 8:27pm Sure, maybe you can get the…

Sure, maybe you can get the SEC and ACC to agree to 9 conferences games one day.  I doubt it though.

Until then I'd rather see the B1G go to 8 games.

The CFP comittee is lying through their teeth when they say they care about SoS.  We dont need a top 10 SoS, just a top 50 and minimize losses.

11/28/2018 - 3:45pm The bigger problem than a P5…

The bigger problem than a P5 non conference opponent is 9 conference games.

Two conferences have never missed a CFP, ACC and SEC.  Those two are the conferences that only play 8 games.  B1G, PAC12, and Big XII all play 9 conference games. And what do you know they have all missed the CFP at times.

So we really should lobby the B1G to go back to 8 conference games, but until that time I'd say yeah we need to stop scheduling P5 non conference.  Our SOS will be just fine with OSU, PSU, and MSU every year in the east and rotating through Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, and Nebraska from the west.

That said, just win the damn division and don't give me this BS about a co-championship.  The division winner plays in Indy.
