I would be shocked if they weren't already doing this. I know football for sure has things like a given official's likelihood of calling pass interference and other judgement call penalties.

Maybe the upside is we will be forced by personnel to run less, at least between the tackles and field more receivers.

02/03/2019 - 10:28pm Edelman deserves it more…

Edelman deserves it more. Brady obviously was clutch when it counted as usual, but otherwise was pretty up and down. Edelman was flat out uncoverable all game.

02/03/2019 - 10:21pm Pretty rich for Verizon to…

Pretty rich for Verizon to use first responders to repair their image considering they throttled firefighters' data in the CA wildfires this summer.

01/20/2019 - 10:16pm Not one but three clutch TD…

Not one but three clutch TD drives to go back to the Super Bowl. Dude is a machine.

Lol, that post game interview...

01/15/2019 - 8:05am Also, calling plays is a…

Also, calling plays is a very small part of determining the offensive identity. The stuff that goes in the playbook in the off-season, the weekly game planning and prep, and just general offensive philosophy have a lot more to do with what am offense lools like than which play gets called when. I'm a little skeptical Harbaugh is ready to relinquish all of that stuff, but I do think he recognizes a change is needed.

01/07/2019 - 11:21am Rivals says he…

Rivals says he underperformed, FWIW.

Devontae Dobbs didn’t live up to his lofty ranking at any time during the week. And while that’s not to say Dobbs was awful all week, he certainly didn’t look like the No. 48 player in the country.

01/02/2019 - 5:26pm Uche is going to be a full…

Uche is going to be a full time DE next year. You also have Villain if he can get healthy and then 2 freshman potentially in Hinton and Ojabo.

01/02/2019 - 3:22pm There are question marks but…

There are question marks but plausible answers. DT is much scarier. We basically need a true freshman to start at this point.

12/27/2018 - 12:22am So they got a pick and it…

So they got a pick and it cost them 15 yards?

12/24/2018 - 4:55pm He also seems like he would…

Agree, it seems to go against what we know about him to enter without even getting an eval.

12/24/2018 - 2:44pm Michigan for Engineering, no…

Michigan for Engineering, no brainer.

12/21/2018 - 3:54pm Conspiring to hide…

Conspiring to hide wrongdoing via email has got to be the epitome of stupid.

Anyone know why Keegan hasn't signed yet?

Edit: NM, he just did

12/10/2018 - 1:40pm It'll never recover to the…

It'll never recover to the 1920's level, but already pockets are, if anything, too gentrified. As property prices rise in those pockets the neighboring areas will get better as people are priced out and move nearby.

12/05/2018 - 9:10pm Lol wut

Lol wut

12/04/2018 - 11:09pm Still a huge drop in…

Still a huge drop in selectivity, though. Over 3/4 is fucking ludicrous for a school of MSU's size. That's higher than Eastern and Central, and only slightly lower than Western.

12/04/2018 - 11:04pm Yikes. I'll take it.

Yikes. I'll take it.

12/04/2018 - 7:29pm They'll do fine going…

They'll do fine going forward, but if I were a commit that was repeatedly told Urban would be around next year, I'd be a little pissed.

12/04/2018 - 3:46pm Why would they do that? You…

Why would they do that? You get rid of someone when the public outcry is the worst, not 4 months later after yet another 12 win, B10 championship when no one cares anymore.

12/03/2018 - 8:15pm Does this include sacks?…

Does this include sacks? Pretty impressive if true, he must hardly ever take sacks.

12/03/2018 - 12:05pm I have no problem with payed…

I have no problem with payed membership, but it should be for special content. Almost all the things you listed are just things that make a functional website.

11/18/2018 - 4:18pm So many games have turned on…

So many games have turned on kickoffs though. Just yesterday, Ohio took a return to the 50 and were able to tie before time expired.

I'm not convinced injuries are that much more prevelant on KOs than any other play, I'd like to see some quantitative data on it.

Didn't play:

Didn't return:

Winovich

Went out but returned:

Metellus

11/17/2018 - 8:11pm What's up with JBB?

What's up with JBB?

11/17/2018 - 7:57pm Seems like all the things…

Seems like all the things Brown fixed in the offseason all of a sudden got unfixed. Hopefully, it's just a brief, momentary relapse that gets fixed soon.

Red zone play calling was... not great. Still, had at least two easy TDs missed by uncharacteristically inaccurate throws by Shea.

11/17/2018 - 7:53pm Tough losses if Winovich and…

Tough losses if Winovich and Solomon are out next week. Our interior line + Gary were a liability today as is.

11/16/2018 - 6:30pm Why not? He wants to coach,…

Why not? He wants to coach, he's probably not going to get a top level job. Expectations at Kansas are literally win more than one game, so he'll have plenty of space and autonomy to rebuild like he wants. If things work out, then he's got a launchpad to a better job  If not, he can probably ride out the rest of his career there and retire before they'd fire him.

11/16/2018 - 12:48pm In hindsight there were red…

In hindsight there were red flags all over with Green. He dropped some insane amount of weight to even be a RB his Jr or Sr year, he was a Dline man before that, IIRC. Then, lo, he shows up on campus 30 lbs overweight and never gets his weight under control.

11/14/2018 - 8:43pm I'll take one revenge please…

I'll take one revenge please.

11/13/2018 - 1:22pm Why the fuck is this so hard…

Why the fuck is this so hard for people?

11/12/2018 - 1:55pm I don't think Mason…

I don't think Mason intentionally tried to do what he did. I think he was knocked off balance and forced back. The right thing was to give up and let the refs blow the whistle and give you the forward progress, but it's also hard for a guy who's mentality is to fight hard with everything he had to not keep churning and giving an extra effort. He also may not have been totally sure if he got the first down on forward progress either. In any case, this is more of a biff by the refs, IMO. The defender was in contact the whole time, by rule he should have been given forward progress regardless of the second effort.

11/12/2018 - 1:26pm Tru Wilson really does look…

Tru Wilson really does look to have great vision. I think he was by far our most effective back at the stretch stuff to the outside. He had patience to set up blocks, but was also decisive and crisp in making his cut and putting defenders on the wrong side of blocks.

11/12/2018 - 10:41am He wants to sign and enroll…

He wants to sign and enroll early though, I could see Louisville and Brohm dragging things out long enough that he has to make the call without knowing for sure. I know recruits say stuff they don't actually mean, but he does seem to genuinely like Purdue as a school. I think we're in good shape, but also there are outcomes that go Purdue (or even Lousiville's) way.

11/12/2018 - 12:00am IIRC on Jim and Jack's…

IIRC on Jim and Jack's podcast they mentioned his daughter was going to ND next year on scholarship to play lacrosse. I could see him taking a year to regroup and spending some time with family in Ann Arbor. An analyst job just to be involved in football in some capacity wouldn't be a stretch from there.

11/11/2018 - 4:44pm Not necessarily. Jourdan…

Not necessarily. Jourdan Lewis got a concussion a few years ago and played the next game.

11/10/2018 - 11:49pm Not really fair to take the…

Not really fair to take the long run out to judge the running game YPC. Short runs are a consequence of blitzball defenses selling out, but the flip side is if their safeties get on the wrong side of a block there's no one left to prevent a big play. Also, good runs on 1st and 2nd got us into short yardage situations a lot, especially in the first half, where we then blocked only the first level to just pick up the first down. I bet that skewed numbers the opposite way. Overall, it felt like the offense could get anything they wanted most of the game.

11/10/2018 - 10:27pm That was Kinnel's bust…

That was Kinnel's bust. Hawkins was expecting Kinnel to funnel back and needed to cover for the cut back. He really didn't have a chance when the back had room to run to the space Kinnel vacated.

11/10/2018 - 8:28pm 80 came on one play and they…

80 came on one play and they probably got another 30 or so against our deep bench. At no point did it feel threatening. Shit happens sometimes.

11/10/2018 - 8:18pm WTF, interior OL was fine.

WTF, interior OL was fine.

11/10/2018 - 8:17pm Higdon staying fresh and…

Higdon staying fresh and healthy is way more important than some meaningless stat. We rushed for nearly 200 yards at 4.8 YPC  so it's not like we weren't mashing them.

11/10/2018 - 8:14pm Wish they would have kept…

Wish they would have kept the zone read reverse in the barn. That was one block away from breaking big.

11/10/2018 - 8:13pm We rushed for nearly 200…

We rushed for nearly 200 yards at 4.8 YPC, and the OL only gave up one sack (the intentional Milton one). I guess Shea threw all passes to himself too.

11/10/2018 - 8:05pm It tells me they don't even…

It tells me they don't even consider him an option in the competitive portion of games. Might as well get him some garbage time reps when the opportunity presents itself.

11/10/2018 - 7:58pm Both returns were called…

Both returns were called back on relevant holds. We didn't attempt any FGs and made all PATs (yes, the first one looked weird, otherwise looked fine)

11/10/2018 - 7:32pm Maybe they don't think he's…

Maybe they don't think he's close to ready and won't be an option in those games if needed in meaningful situations and aren't passing up opportunities to get him some live reps.

11/10/2018 - 7:22pm I actually thought Tru was…

I actually thought Tru was our best back in the outside zone and pin and pull plays. Higdon doesn't have the patience or vision he has, and Evans has too much patience and not as much burst out of his cut.

11/10/2018 - 7:20pm He's huge though and pretty…

He's huge though and pretty shifty for his size. I could see a short yardage and goal line package for him.

11/10/2018 - 7:13pm But he wasn't the backup…

But he wasn't the backup this week? The fact Milton played and still came in after Peters strengthens the case Peters is the backup. This wasn't even a case where Milton was the backup but didn't play too preserve his redshirt.

11/10/2018 - 4:17pm We were fumbling the ball…

We were fumbling the ball tied 0-0 at this point.
