Maybe some reference I don't get, but this reminds me of the posts we got a few years ago where someone put some key words into a program and it spit out some sentences.
I'm not getting the "sour grape" vibes from this. I understood MGrowOld's point to be that a call, by itself is not sufficient evidence that this was done right. Making a call, would seem to make it much more likely that this was done right, but it is theoretically possible to make a call and still not have done it correctly. It depends on what was said on the call.
"Just cause he made a phone call doesnt make it right."
A player like Higdon who has pro football aspirations has a lot more risk of having something negative happen that impacts his career as opposed to a player who is going into a line a work that is less physically demanding. For example, blowing out a knee has a much greater impact on someone who wants to play pro football than it does on someone who is going to work as an Aerospace Engineer.
I am beyond an excellent cook, but I'm having trouble heating water. When it starts to get hot, it tends to bubble up and soon I have none left. Should I just buy hot water in a can?
Wonder what the implications are for Devin Bush Sr. I expected he might be in line for a spot, but looks like that is no longer available. With Jr going to the NFL, will Sr stick around?
This totally misses the point. It is not that these guys are ultra attractive to any individual recruit. It is that they have connections in Ohio and OSU wanted to take those connections away from M.
Nick Baumgardner posited that OSU wanted both Mattision and Washington for recruiting purposes. M was making inroads into opening Ohio as a recruiting ground and they were the two primary Ohio connections. So OSU is trying to fence Ohio by taking these guys away from M.
Suppose it depends on what you mean by "average", but the football team is clearly better than the average B1G team, the average P5 conference team, the average D1 team...
It is not better than the average fan's expectations and might be about average compared to historical Michigan team's performances.
The poster identifies himself as an OSU fan and gives information that is directly relevant to Michigan. Not a troll, not an internet tough guy. No reason to tell him to get lost.
Well it was announced to the public a while ago that Urban was leaving (I suspect Day has known much longer). So, he knew he'd have an opening on his staff and he has obviously been working on filling that opening.
If Michigan wants to make a change, they have to move a guy out first.
I'd imagine the argument for selecting the four "best" conference champions is; what if someone like NW 2018 wins the conference championship game?
That being said, I like the idea of using as objective criteria as possible, so why not take all five conference champs? If someone like NW 2018 gets in, then so be it.
By the way, what if both Pitt and NW had won, taking the four "best" still lets one in.
First, not sure schools find joining conferences is "necessary". "Beneficial", maybe?
Second, the schools themselves find the conferences beneficial under the conditions that existed/exist. Perhaps the poster is suggesting the changes the conditions, such that conference membership is no longer beneficial.
I think it should be 20. Play everyone in your division in round robin. Winners of the division play in the championship. Suppose you had a Big Ten division and a Pac 10 division, the winners could meet every year somewhere, like maybe the Rose Bowl.
UNC is 643 miles from Ann Arbor by car. Austin is 1333. So obviously UNC is closer, but UNC is far enough that is a plane ride anyway. When you consider the time of the total trip, time to gather, get to the airport, board, fly, deboard, get to destination, how much of a difference does another 1.5 hours in the air make?

BGSU needs more Ron English.
"Rutger ... is always one of the top teams in the conference."
Rutgers? Don't talk about—Rutgers?! You kidding me? Rutgers?

Come on. It wasn't perfect, but it also wasn't hard to figure out the intent.
I'm confused. OP says 5 over limit of 85, so 90. This says 95.
good choice. I thought you were going for the band, but it could have easily been taken to be pretty dicey.
1) If the top 2 teams of a conference play each other to get in, isn't that sort of like a 13 team playoff?
2) Where do you get the other 3 teams to fill out the 8 team bracket? Can the loser of a conference championship game still make the playoff?
3) Shouldn't it be up to the conferences to decide how they want to crown a champ?

No. LITD.
Maybe injuries took a toll, but the interior DL was pretty shaky all year and by the end the entire DL was shaky.
So, is this just an excuse to smell your own balls?
Does he know what Raul, "Hane" (Jane) and thw whole crew are up to?
Wait, George makes gravy?
Needs to be a big pipe.
Yes. And he's talkin' with Davy who's still in the Navy and probably will be for life.
Close, but not quite right. It is OSU doing the investigation. They will be done in two weeks.
I give this post two hidden thumbs! (Doesn't quite have the same ring)

Why many word? Few work.
If he stays in college 5 years, he'll be done in 2029!
Thought he was looking for a home run hire not the "tried to bunt with two strikes and missed strike out" hire.
I learned an important lesson. Gotta read carefully when "very connected" and "NJ" are in the same sentence.

Technically, it sounds like maybe Maryland raided Alabama's staff and we raided Maryland.

This…
Last four bowl games:
This year #7 M played #10 Florida.
Last year an 8-4 M team played an 8-4 not that USC team.
Orange Bowl #6 M v.s #10 FSU
Citrus Bowl #14 M v. #19 Florida
About 5 in the picture + 20 years since the appeared on the internet = 25.
It Was Better Than Cats!
Lots of great names mentioned. I'd add Devin Gardner. I've always felt if he had better coaching, he could've been ann all-timer.
Does this create an opening on the staff so they can bring Al Washington on board albeit in a different role?

Think this refers to NFL HOF not college.

After enough Cheez-Its, America will also need a first responder.
Because that is too high.
The "cough" is not fully warranted. This is actually true if the kid is not producing on the field.
You can't mean Mike Hart, he was only a 3 star.

Example of a trade that would help a team and isn't ridiculously lopsided.
Matt Patricia for a used football.

Is it really a good idea if everyone knows it is not implementable?
Get your 11 biggest/strongest guys on the field. Bunch them up. Hike the ball and slowly push forward.

Doesn't same apply to Nebraska and they obviously are in.
The conference championship game effectively becomes the first round of the playoffs of 8 teams from 4 conferences each with 2 divisions.
