Man, thats so weak. Because he's not a blogger, he can't have an opinion? The consumers of the info can have idea's as well. If the bloggers are going to make money of of ads and donations, then yes, the people that help that happen can have a voice.

By your own logic, no one should care about any opinion you have about the UM football team until you start running for first downs or running back Pick-Six's.

07/12/2018 - 3:59pm Man...just because people…

Man...just because people either dont have the same opinion or thought process doesnt mean they are easily triggered or need to be poo-poo'd. A lot of people pretty carefully explained what their issue was regarding that and its apparent continuing after effects.

Hmm, whatever could've opened Pandora's Box....?

I mean...the kid is a 4-star and top-250 player. He's going to land on his feet and he's going to have good chances. Its not going to be an instance of someone "taking a shot" with the kid.

I dont say that to say the situation doesnt suck for Sheffield, but your comments about it are...odd.

...or is a Sith.

07/08/2018 - 4:25pm Well, that might help 2020…

Well, that might help 2020 kids, but not Harrison and Karlaftis, since they would've signed somewhere long before the draft

07/05/2018 - 10:37pm Wait, what?

He came up…

Wait, what?

He came up short? He averaged 6 yards per carry on the year with three TD and was big in the title game.

In garbage time against FCS teams?

1. Bama played 1 FCS team
2. 10-70 vs VAndy, 7-43, TD vs Ole Miss, 5-33, TD vs Arkansas, 7-50 against Tennessee, and 6-64 against Georgia in the National Championship.

Don't be salty man. Its a bummer he didn't come to UM and we want to make it seem like he made a bad decision, but he was a freshman who was behind some really good talent and he still came in and did a good job

07/05/2018 - 10:31pm Yeah,

Two would play and…

Yeah,

Two would play and the other would be sitting out bc he wasn't eligible to play.

07/02/2018 - 6:32pm Where in his post did he say…

Where in his post did he say at all if he agreed or disagreed with the politics themself? He didnt. So why are you assuming that?

Look, people are taken aback by this sudden change in content and the antagonistic attitude that has come with it. It can be as simple as that and not mean that its someone "with a differing opinion trying to silence something." Brian said he wasnt posting about Politics, now he is and is doing so both without explanation and in a way thats a touch off-putting. He can do what he wants, for sure, but there are perhaps better ways to do that.

PS- If we are going down the Politics route, "He can do what he wants and say what he wants even if it breaks the rules" is a dangerous slope.

This is copy-pasted from the "Official Ethics of MGoBlog" under the about section, from Brian:

I will maintain focus. Appropriate topic areas for mgoblog in descending order of relevance:

  • Michigan sports.
  • Sports media; print, broadcast, and blog.
  • Opponent news.
  • General NCAA news.
  • Other sports of interest (Pistons, USMNT soccer mostly)

Things I wont post on:

come on man. He's trying to talk up his dude. "You cant teach speed" is just a cliche' way of saying "dude is a super athlete". Thats it, dont read into it.

This is from the "Ethics" section of the About on the site. And yes I realize parts of it are said in jest:

06/29/2018 - 4:31pm Honest question....where…

Honest question....where does it say "No politics" only applies to the commentators. I looked in the FAQ, and it just says No Politics.

Look, like I said in a different post, people can say you dont have to read it, and they are right. But to some, even those who don't have differing political opinions...its a bit strange and off-putting.

06/29/2018 - 2:48pm Since politics are fair game…

Since politics are fair game now, the whole "you can't say or do this, but I can do what I want bc I'm in charge" thing is how a lot of problems start.

06/29/2018 - 12:05pm There is perhaps some irony…

There is perhaps some irony in your post  about someone not liking being told what to write about concluding with that there are only two responses to this we can write.....

Everyone who has written that you can "just not read it" is correct. I've said that to posters on here myself in regards to Draftageddon.

Where I think a lot of people have a problem with this is the blatant disregard of a site rule that posters have always been asked to follow, and have lost points or been banned for. If the site rule is "No politics", then its hard to rectify a Political post on the front page in the eyes of many.

06/29/2018 - 11:54am So why is there a "No…

So why is there a "No Politics" rule on the site then?

06/27/2018 - 11:24am Most accounts seem to…

Most accounts seem to indicate that the UM staff has cooled on Harrod, as he maybe hasnt had a good spring/summer. Sounds like Trevor Keegan is the main target now at OT

I merely ask out of interest and mean no disrespect to the Risk players here. I'm not a redditor, but love the original game.

But if the powers that be know  its a mass opportunity for negative comments and locked-down right away....couldn't that be a sign that its not really a great Front Page post?

Its alien expert Giorgia A. Tsoukalos.

05/23/2018 - 3:04pm Well, 1: I think his point

Well, 1: I think his point was that he was a big who shot the three in an era where that did not happen much. There weren't a lot of Dirks and guys like that playing the perimeter with Bill was around. He probably understands that part of the modern game.

2: Here are the league averages for 3p% from 87-94, when Bill really started to shoot from out there:
.301
.316
.323
.331
.320
.331
.336
.333

He was above league average in 6 of those years. Different time, different era, but Bill could hit 3's for a big back then.

You do realize that its a good idea to have your facts straight before getting snarky, bc otherwise it makes you look like a fool, right?

Players suspended for PED's were declared ineligible for that season's postseason in a change to the drug policy in 2014.

Im struggling, very much so, to figure out what and who you were possibly thinking of.

Who is THE Duncan Robinson?

Besides, its obvious our Duncan Robinson is the love child of the two greatest Spurs in history, Tim and David

05/02/2018 - 7:18pm 5 Gold gloves. If you think

5 Gold gloves. If you think he deserved all those, you are an idiot.

There is no argument.

05/02/2018 - 7:15pm Counterpoint: He made the

Counterpoint: He made the All-Star  game in both sports. And was All-Star MVP in one.

He had four 20 hr years and a 30 hr year. He has the record for most rush yards on Monday Night Football. The reason why people rave about his isnt because he hit "800 homeruns." Its because he was the best at being a dual sport athlete, and his athletic prowess is well regarded by everyone who played against him.

And its fair to say his stats and legend would have grown if not for that pesky terrible hip injury in his prime....

05/02/2018 - 7:09pm Counter-points: Pippen is

Counter-points: Pippen is perhaps the greatest perimeter defender of all time. Was second player ever to lead his team in Points, Rebounds , Blocks ,Steas and Assists in the same season, and still only one of five ever. Jordan hadnt done anything in the playoffs until Pippen (also, spell it correctly) came around. And most player effeciency and plus/minus models rate Pip as one of the top players of the 90's

05/02/2018 - 6:54pm Yeah,he compiled the most

Yeah,he compiled the most no-hitters (7) and the most one-hitters (12) as well.

Oh, and he led the NL in ERA when he was 40, and K's every year from age 40-43. He compiled stats because he was really good.

05/02/2018 - 6:49pm He completed 56% of passes in

He completed 56% of passes in both of  his two years starting at Wyoming.

Im not saying your wrong about him being overrated, but don't just say stuff that isnt true, it takes away from the arguement.

No, he was over-measured

05/02/2018 - 6:44pm Pippen? For one, I dont think

Pippen? For one, I dont think hes highly rated enough to be overrated, but for two, he's one of the best defensive players in history and one of the first players to thrive in the modern point forward position.

05/02/2018 - 6:37pm Your points are at odds, it

Your points are at odds, it seems. So hes not that good, but no one except bron has been able to put a team on his back like he did?

05/02/2018 - 6:10pm Once in 6 full seasons has he

Once in 6 full seasons has he had lower than a .270 average, he hit .330 one year and .319 last year. And thats before you get to his power or plate discipline. And oh, hes just 25. Get outta here.

04/27/2018 - 9:47am Or they are just concerned

Or they are just concerned and think if there is a similar player without that issue, thats a better pick for them.

Orrrr....they just are uncomfortable with the situation, no matter what the docs say.. Its a tough position for a team to be in, like the Chris Bosh situation with the Heat, and one many teams may like to avoid.

04/16/2018 - 8:41pm It is looking like

It is looking like complaining about 2019 recruiting is going the way of 2018; just earlier in the cycle. Most dont think we have a top 100 recruit. We got a couple of good arguements early, and will probaby have another one, but after that there were not too many bright posts. Filling Hello posts with comments in the 500-1000 range doesnt make me optomistic about our chances with having an enjoyable summer eiether. Its disappointing that we make up our minds on guys' entire careers 10 months before signing day. Worse, its is at probably our biggest area of need, and biggest weaness, but we still complain about getting commits from OT . These are the type of posts I have come to expect whenever I come here.

04/15/2018 - 12:13am Surprise. Every mgoblog user

Surprise. Every mgoblog user who is a pistons fan says they should draft the UM player, regardless if it makes sense or not. You really think Moe is a "building block" for the Pistons? When he's not a projected lottery pick. Most mocks have him  as a 2nd rounder or late first. Not many "building blocks" come from that range. He'll be a nice player, but that might be a bit overzealous.
