Rafa and Djoker will have to play (at least in part) tomorrow most likely so they will have one day of extra rest - assuming they finish today!

Whoa - a set that did not end in a tie break! Maybe there is hope these guys can finish today so we can see Rafa and Novak.

Of course I forgot there is no fifth set tie-breaker at Wimbledon. Who knows, Nadal and Djokovic may have to wait until tomorrow to play.

07/13/2018 - 10:33am I think Anderson and Isner…

I think Anderson and Isner could save us all a lot of time by just playing 5 tie breakers. That's where this is headed any way.

Is Sheffield any good? He's only 5-10 so he's probably a slot. Our WR board looks a little thin for 2019 unless we can somehow pull Ford out of CA.

If his decision were at a later date I would feel like there is a legit chance. It would be pretty ballsy of him to pick U-M right before his senior season and have to live with all the crap he would get from the local OSU fans all the way up to signing day.

07/01/2018 - 4:34pm It looks like Nik Stauskas…

It looks like Nik Stauskas will sign with Portland. Per 24/7....

"it appears that Stauskas is headed to the West Coast after signing a one-year deal with the Portland Trailblazers. The contract is for the league-minimum salary, which, according to NBCSN analyst Peter Socotch, is expected to be worth $1.6 million next season."

"The Nets opted against tendering Stauskas a qualifying offer, which would've made him a restricted free agent for the Nets. Instead, he became an unrestricted free agent."

Good to see he is still in the league but his career hasn't gone as well as hoped considering he was a top 10 pick.

Was this a camp offer?

Sam just put out an article on 247 discussing how U-M is stepping up recruiting efforts in Ohio. He interviewed Greene as part of this story and Greene made it a point that camp offers are very significant in his mind because a) it is the most recent data available on a kid as opposed to tape from a game 8-9 months ago and b) the staff can run him through any drill they want and talk to him as long as they want to get a real assessment of his ability.

No idea if this kid is any good but he must have showed something at camp that the staff liked.

It seems like the numbers of posts as well as the number of comments are down since the roll out of the new site. I have no idea if that is a fact, and it could simply be because we are in mid-June, but it just feels that way.

06/13/2018 - 3:12pm Here was their justification…

Here was their justification.....

"Air quality in Kalamazoo is nearly the worst of any U.S. city. The city's air is considered hazardous for about 15% of days in a given year, a far larger share than the 6% average nationwide. The city is also among the most dangerous nationwide. There were 1,217 violent crimes in 2016 for every 100,000 residents, more than triple the U.S. violent crime rate of 386 per 100,000.

As is often the case among cities on this list, Kalamazoo is poor. Over 30% of the population lives in poverty, more than double the U.S. poverty rate of 14%."

06/10/2018 - 2:38pm Federer has actually won…

Federer has actually won their last 5 meetings dating back to 2015. The fact that Fed no longer plays on clay balances the H2H rivalry in his favor. If he could have beaten Nadal when he was just coming onto tour, he would have fared much better.

06/10/2018 - 2:31pm Edit - Fed has won 8 on…

Edit - Fed has won 8 on grass (Wimbledon)

06/10/2018 - 2:27pm You can make a similar…

You can make a similar argument for RF - he's won 9 of his 20 on grass and only 1 on clay.

Nadal leads in virtually all the head-to-head statistics:

Overall: 23-15 Nadal

Slams: 9-3 Nadal

Clay: 13-2 Nadal

Hard: 11-9 Federer

Grass: 2-1 Federer

French: 5-0 Nadal

Wimbledon: 2-1 Federer

Australian: 3-1 Nadal

(They have never played at the U.S. Open)

20 and 17 slams for the two of them is pretty sick.

06/10/2018 - 2:20pm He would have made it a lot…

He would have made it a lot easier for himself if he could have closed out the 5th set in the Australian earlier this year (he was up a break but RF came back to beat him). Then it would be Federer - 19 and Nadal - 18 as opposed to RF- 20 and RN - 17 where it currently stands.

I think Federer will be the favorite again at Wimbledon. Of the 4 slams, grass is Nadal's weakest surface right now. Djokovic, while playing better than he was in 2017, still is not in top form. Wawrinka is just coming back. I don't know when we will see Murray again. Cilic, DelPo, Dimitrov or Anderson could make some noise but they can't seem to get over the hump. Of the next generation, I think Zverev is the only one who could win multiple slams but it feels like he needs to lose a few first.

I like Rafa again in the U.S. Open and he will continue to win the French as long as he stays healthy. Maybe some day somebody will figure out how to play to his backhand because his forehand is just devastating on clay. But if Fed wins one more, it will be pretty hard for Rafa to catch him.

06/09/2018 - 3:18pm Is Barnett even a DB? I had…

Is Barnett even a DB? I had watched his HUDL video at least two times and there are a grand total of three plays on his highlights where he is even playing DB. Most of the defensive plays, it looks like he has his hand on the ground.

I just watched it again and it looks like he has taken virtually all of the defensive highlights out of the video. He does look like an excellent WR prospect - which we certainly do need as well. Point being that we should definitely pursue but he may not be the answer at CB.

06/01/2018 - 2:38pm Understand the sentiment

and I used to feel that way myself having grown up in Detroit. But after very bad and expendive experiences owning a Ford Thunderbird and Jeep Grand Cherokee, I became agnostic as to where my cars are made. Cars are so expensive and such a big investment that I need to buy the vehicle that is the best value for me (and my family) in terms of ownership cost, resale value, etc. I will not even consider a car that gets less than a 3 (out of 5) in reliability from Consumer Reports and have not actually bought a car that has gotten lower than a 4. This approach has saved me lots of money over the years. If there are two vehicles I like that both meet that criteria and one is American, I will pick that one.

Another question is what is an American made car any more. Is a Ford manufactured in Mexico more American than a Toyota or BMW manufactured in the U.S.?

06/01/2018 - 2:22pm Consumer Reports

According to Consumer Reports:

The Toyota 4-Runner gets for reliability ratings from 2008-2017 (5/5 is the best score).

2017 - 5/5

2016 - 5/5

2015 - 5/5

2014 - 5/5

2013 - 5/5

2012 - 5/5

2011 - 5/5

2010 - 5/5

2009 - 5/5

2008 - 5/5

The Jeep Grand Cherokee gets the following reliability scores:

2017 - 3/5

2016 - 2/5

2015 - 1/5

2014 - 1/5

2013 - 1/5

2012 - 1/5

2011 - 1/5

2010 - 3/5

2009 - 4/5

2008 - 3/5

To be fair, the Grand Cherokee gets an overall score of 59 with a road test score of 80 compared to a road test score of 55 and overall of 62 for the 4-Runner (CR doesn't like the 4R much, "good for offroading and not much else"). Neither vehicle is recommended by CR.

Compare that to the Toyota Highlander which is CR's top-rated mid-sized SUV and gets an overall score of 85 and has reliability ratings of 5/5 in 8 of the last 10 years (the other two years were 4/5).
