02/17/2019 - 1:23am Played with a guy who tested…

Played with a guy who tested out at top 5 percentile in combine testing but was never seriously looked at by the NFL because he's too small and not productive despite the fact he played for a P5 school.

NFL players are freak athletes. I know a guy who is an OT is 6'5" and 315 lbs but looks like he's 270 lbs and can run. OL can seriously outrun you at 300+ lbs which is crazy. The freak of the freak athletes like Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, etc. are an unique breed because they can dominate against elite athletes on a daily basis.

02/17/2019 - 12:31am I regularly play pick up…

I regularly play pick up ball with some of the people who used to play college ball. The difference between former D1 player and D2/D3 players are significant that you don't appreciate it until you see them up close. Same with former pro players and former D1 players. I always chuckled whenever I see a fan saying they can do better than them and they can't because they're playing in that level for a reason and they aren't.

02/16/2019 - 8:13pm People always like to…

People always like to complain about no defense in NBA but when you see them up close, they're so much faster, quicker and more skilled than you realize. You can see the effort level but the skill level is so much better than in the 80s and 90s with everyone being able to handle, shoot and pass the ball well.

02/10/2019 - 10:38pm JB's first recruits are Stu…

JB's first recruits are Stu Douglass and Zack Novak. Both aren't big time recruits with very few D1 offers coming out of HS yet both are instrumental to the Michigan's turnaround from a laughingstock to respectable program. Without them, Michigan might not have been a national championship contender.

It shows us how far Michigan basketball program has come under JB. We were hoping to make the NCAA tournament and now it's expected that we should be a top 10 program.

I wouldn't be surprised if some big time recruits not sign the NLI on the early signing day because of potential coaching change.

02/09/2019 - 1:35am Just like Jake Rudock who…

Just like Jake Rudock who got beaten out by CJ Beathard or Shea Patterson who got beaten out by Jordan Ta'amu?

02/07/2019 - 1:41pm With the emergence of…

With the emergence of Russell at PG, the Nets get a much needed boost with LeVert returning. They need to bring him along slowly but I hope he can continue his breakout year.

02/06/2019 - 2:57pm He has done it without Brady…

He has done it without Brady. The Pats won 11 games with Matt Cassell as their starting QB. He took the Browns to the playoff. There's plenty of evidence that he is a great HC. It just happen that Brady came along and both were great on their own.

02/06/2019 - 2:48pm I liked the coach. He's…

I liked the coach. He's respectful but coaches his team hard. Rutgers plays hard which is a reflection of his personality. They're not skilled but they'll get better assuming if the coach can unearth under the radar talent.

02/05/2019 - 5:25pm Michigan football scored 19…

Michigan football scored 19 points (one was gift wrapped by OSU's ST miscue) in competitive setting against OSU and scored 10 points against a meh Florida team (5 pts were garbage time). They also scored 17 points (scored 7 points in the 4th quarter but it was too little, too late) against ND.

Defense didn't play well but it's the offense that can't do shit against team with a pulse.

02/04/2019 - 10:28pm NFL don't care about which…

NFL don't care about which team you play for as long as you can play. Carson Wentz played at NDSU and got drafted at 2 overall. Eric Fisher played at CMU and got drafted at 1 overall. Marcus Davenport played at UTSA and got drafted 14 overall which includes the Saints giving up 2 1st round picks to get him.

01/30/2019 - 9:22pm Bridges was a projected top…

Bridges was a projected top 3/5 pick after his freshman year and decided to come back. He got drafted in late lottery. While he still got drafted in the lottery but he lost money by deciding to come back

01/30/2019 - 7:37pm That means we're going to…

That means we're going to see a lot more Livers at the 4/5 to combat this type of lineup. I wished that they had Mo to do some damage on the offensive end. MSU had no answers with him on the court bc Izzo refused to play small for whatever reason. I think Matthews can spell X from time to time on guarding Winston.

At least there's no Jaren Jackson to block shots.

01/30/2019 - 7:03pm Luckily, Michigan has two of…

Luckily, Michigan has two of the best defenders guarding them in X and Teske. Charles Matthews would be guarding Langford but since he's out. I guess McQuaid?

01/30/2019 - 12:06am I find it hilarious to see…

I find it hilarious to see it in retrospect but John Beilein has earned a long leash and leeway because he took his team to the NC appearance as well as first NCAA tournament appearance in over 20 years. It was ridiculous then and still is to call for his head. The two seasons that he had was mostly due to injuries with Walton and LeVert hurt. It forced MAAR to grow up quickly and they reaped the benefit last year when MAAR became instrumental to the team's success.

John Beilein will have the job as long as he wants and Michigan should feel so lucky to have him as a coach

01/28/2019 - 9:46pm Michigan can afford to pay…

Michigan can afford to pay the buyout.

Nm

01/28/2019 - 9:40pm There is one option that…

There is one option that Harbaugh for whatever reason refuse to utilize it. That option is to fire someone.

01/27/2019 - 8:38am The game does not matter…

The game does not matter. The NFL scouts and executives already left before the game yesterday. It's practices that matters the most for their evaluations.

01/27/2019 - 6:18am Bowl game doesn't do much…

Bowl game doesn't do much for the team except for a win/loss record at the end of the year while MSU/OSU game are regular season that counts towards a conference record and playoff push. You need both MSU/OSU games to put on game tape for the scouts and NFL personnel people to make an evaluation and playing against top tier competition gives them a good idea of what they're capable of in the next level. Playing against cupcakes won't do it for them. NFL don't care if they skip the bowl game but they do care if you skip the regular season game.

Higdon would not sit out if Michigan is playing in the playoff.

01/26/2019 - 9:33pm As opposed to Jake Butt who…

As opposed to Jake Butt who lost potential earnings by getting hurt in his final game of his career?

01/26/2019 - 9:32pm The bowl game is almost an…

The bowl game is almost an essentially an exhibition game and he doesn't want to risk getting hurt like Jaylon Smith or Jake Butt which would kill his draft stock and prevented him from prepping for the draft season. I get his decision which is a 100% business decision

01/26/2019 - 3:32pm The point of the senior bowl…

The point of the senior bowl is to showcase in front of scouts and NFL people in practices which are more important than the bowl game. They already know what he is as a RB but he showed things that he wasn't asked to do at Michigan which is beneficial to his draft stock.

01/25/2019 - 10:59pm All Hail John Beilein!

All Hail John Beilein!

01/24/2019 - 2:25pm If they offered him good…

If they offered him good money, he'll take it even if it's a B1G school.

01/24/2019 - 9:34am I hear ya but the fact is…

I hear ya but the fact is stepback jumper is a good arsenal to have because it creates separation for a clean shot. Poole is the only one who does that regularly and makes them. Taking it away removes the threat of it that defenders has to take account for which makes it easier to defend Poole.

01/23/2019 - 3:17pm I don't mind the stepback…

I don't mind the stepback jumpers. It's part of the basketball arsenal and it gives them a way to separate from defenders for a clean shot.

01/23/2019 - 10:04am Higdon is going to be…

Higdon is going to be drafted. He's likely going to get a look at day 3. I'd be surprised if he went undrafted

01/22/2019 - 11:35pm He shot 84% for the season…

He shot 84% for the season. You need him on the court for that purpose. He's not going to go 1/4 and if it does, it's rare.

01/22/2019 - 12:30am Not saying that he's as good…

Not saying that he's as good as Draymond Green but JB was on him early on and almost had him until Izzo swooped in to get him. Draymond Green was undersized PF/C who isn't a good shooter and isn't a fit in JB's system.

01/18/2019 - 6:21pm That sounds like a bunch of…

That sounds like a bunch of bullshit you're spewing. OSU won because they're the more talented team and outcoached Michigan by a wide margin.  Both team were plenty motivated and passionate about the game. Both put forth great effort in this game.

OSU were the better team, period. Not that lack of motivation, passion bullshit ploy that would work in pee-wee football.

01/18/2019 - 6:13pm I wouldn't use…

I wouldn't use WalterFootball. They're a joke and most football people said that they're not a reputable draft source

01/18/2019 - 6:11pm Hockenson's most common…

Hockenson's most common comparison is a former Iowa TE, George Kittle. George Kittle had a combined 737 receiving yards in his career. This season, he led the NFL in receiving yards among TEs in the league with over 1300 yards. He was named 2nd team All-Pro and voted as a Pro Bowler.

Hockenson is a great all around TE who happened to be handicapped by shitty QB play aka Nate Stanley and isn't asked to do things that Noah Fant is being asked to because both are two different type of TEs. Fant is more of a move TE while Hockenson is more of a traditional TE.

01/18/2019 - 6:08pm The rumor is Brady wanted…

The rumor is Brady wanted Jimmy G gone and Kraft went ahead and executed the trade against BB's wishes.

01/18/2019 - 6:07pm Daniel Jeremiah has been…

Daniel Jeremiah has been with the NFL Network for the last few years and has reputable source as well as putting in work on evaluating prospects.

Unknown people, he is not.

01/17/2019 - 10:01pm College Basketball is…

College Basketball is aesthetically less pleasing to watch than the NBA by a wide margin. Who wants to watch a bunch of dude bricking jumpers after jumpers even when they're wide open? Only argument is NCAA Tourney offers more drama but that's it.

01/17/2019 - 10:00pm Harden flirts the rule of…

Harden flirts the rule of traveling but NBA (and just recently FIBA) have zero step rule where steps starts as soon the ball is gathered. That's why his step back jumpers look like a travel.

This is a good breakdown why it's not the case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-MQRcwtWts

01/17/2019 - 9:58pm I'd argue that defense is…

I'd argue that defense is better than in the 80s/90s because there's more diverse scheme and athleticism level of the current players.

Current NBA players would hold the 80s teams to 70s/80s because of their sheer athleticism and ability to switch everything/rotate quickly.

It's just that today's NBA players are so skilled and athletic that they can find ways to win easily.

01/17/2019 - 9:17pm Playing defense is a lot…

Playing defense is a lot harder because players are a lot more skilled than they used to be in the 80s and 90s. There are effort but you can play great defense but they can still put the ball into the hoop.

Saying they don't play defense is just a lazy way of saying they haven't watch the NBA in the last 5-10 years

01/17/2019 - 9:28am and Saban is a defensive…

and Saban is a defensive coach in which they run his system. The DC basically runs his scheme. Nothing has changed.

01/15/2019 - 1:41pm We'll find out once 2019…

We'll find out once 2019 team gets into a tough stretch especially the end of the season. This year B1G is stupid good. I believe they had 11 teams on Bart Torvik top 50 rankings which is ridiculous. That's not counting Minnesota just missing the cut by 1 spot.

2013 B1G had 8 out of 10 teams at the top 50 but 5 of them are at top 15 with Iowa and Minnesota at top 25.

Both B1G conferences are strong

01/14/2019 - 3:24pm I liked the NBA continuation…

I liked the NBA continuation rules a lot better because if you have a natural motion of shooting the ball, why call the foul and call off the shot? Iggy's basket that didn't count is a great example of why there should be an argument for the continuation rule.

01/12/2019 - 6:08am Nope, they scored .92 PPP…

Nope, they scored .92 PPP. They scored 69 points in 75 possessions.

01/11/2019 - 7:17pm Nice post. It's not often…

Nice post. It's not often you see a post dedicated to defense in basketball. Indiana gave Michigan their worst showing on defense and I believe that Indiana is the only team to score over 1.00 PPP this season which is impressive.

01/11/2019 - 6:01pm Mike Davis has a son on the…

Mike Davis has a son on the team who is a true freshman and he is lighting it up on the scoreboard with his shooting. He's arguably just as impressive as Ignas thus far. Antonie Davis should be a name to watch for 2020 NBA draft. He's rail thin but has range for days.

01/10/2019 - 10:20pm BANG ME FOR THE UPVOTE!

BANG ME FOR THE UPVOTE!

01/09/2019 - 11:45pm Because eye test shows that…

Because eye test shows that Jalen Hurts isn't a pure passer that Minshew is. Minshew is being looked at as a QB while Hurts doesn't have a future as a QB in the NFL. Hurts does not fit the Air Raid offense, period.

01/09/2019 - 3:24pm Not about stats. Minshew is…

Not about stats. Minshew is a passing QB while Hurts is a running QB. He would not fit the Air Raid offense.

I've studied Bama with Hurts under the center and Hurts consistently missed reads or open WRs because he didn't look their way.

01/09/2019 - 11:13am 5* CB doesn't mean shit if…

5* CB doesn't mean shit if you can't flip hips. If he can flip hips, NFL would've tried him at CB, not S.
