02/12/2019 - 11:26pm God I wish he would've said…

God I wish he would've said the following

"I dont want to get fined so im not going to criticize the officials, instead im just going to state a few facts:

1. My team is 22-0 when this crew doesnt officiate the game.  0-3 when they do.

2. I havent been tossed from a game since Jimmy Carter was President.  Tonight I was.

3. Three first half fouls is Penn State's lowest first half foul total in three years.

4. If that crew is assaigned to another one of our games i will pull my team off the court and will forfeit.  I will leave it up to our commissioner who assaigned the officials to explain why."

02/12/2019 - 10:24pm Or their overt bias.  They…

Or their overt bias.  They REALLY dont like it when their obvious desire for a particular team to win.

Just ask Harbaugh

02/12/2019 - 10:11pm Michigan is 22-0 when we…

Michigan is 22-0 when we dont have this crew officiating

0-2 when they do and down big in this one.  And they just tossed the mildest HC in college basketball

But I'm sure you think that's just a wacky coincidence.

02/12/2019 - 9:56pm Like I said in the Wisconsin…

Like I said in the Wisconsin recap thread-once Michigan is free of the utter and total bias and incompetence of the B1G officiating crews we thrive.

Funny how that works Delaney.  No officials for you to "request" Michigan losses from and we do nothing but win

Fuck the B1G. FUCK Delaney

Your alternative ending is WAY better than mine.  Nice job.

Danka.   It seemed so clear to me but I was reading what I was thinking and not what I actually wrote.

I've fixed it.  And when they make film adaptation of my play and I win an Oscar for the screenwriting you can rest assured I'll give a big shout out to Bo Glue for his editing of my magnum opus.

02/12/2019 - 9:08am Starring in my one act play…

Starring in my one act play are the following......

Ted = Ryan Day

Charlie = Jim Harbaugh

Wife = Greg Mattison

Daughter = Al Washington

02/12/2019 - 8:58am Just cause he made a phone…

Just cause he made a phone call doesnt make it right.

"Hey Charlie this is Ted."

"What's up Ted?"

Well.....I'm sure you've heard I kicked my wife out of the house.  Wasn't real happy with how things were going so I told her to leave."

"Well I need a new wife and I've always admired yours so do you mind if I ask her to leave you and move in with me?   Oh.....and your daughter is pretty hot too so I'm planning on asking both of them to leave you and move in with me.  That's not a problem is it?"

02/11/2019 - 8:30pm You beat me to that response…

You beat me to that response.  Once I read that it was VERY obvious that he never actually saw him play and probably gets his team info from somebody like Stephen A Smith.

02/11/2019 - 3:51pm Common now.  My "usual…

Common now.  My "usual stance" with Michigan is simply being accurate in predicting the future which is also what I'm doing with the Browns.

Go back (if you're really, really bored) and look at my game predictions this year.  The ONLY game I got wrong was OSU and that's because I thought we'd win, not lose.

Predicted losses: ND, Florida

Predicted wins: All other games

And the only other thing I got really wrong this past year was predicting Shea wouldnt be granted immediate eligibility and even on that one now I'm feeling somewhat vindicated given it took the NCAA over three months to decide in our favor and it took them less than 10 days to decide in favor of Ohio State.

02/11/2019 - 3:40pm Respectfully disagree.  I…

Respectfully disagree.  I watched every Browns game this year (I'm a season ticket holder) and can tell you he's way, way better than any of the guys you listed.

1. Much, much stronger arm than Watson or Trubisky.  Neither of them throw the ball even close to how hard Baker does.

2. Much better decision-maker than Goff.  Goff isnt even allowed to audible because he struggles in pre-snap reads.  Baker can not only audible he gets the ball out insanely fast and always to the right receiver.

3. Is more durable than Wentz.  Baker, despite being compared to Johnny Football HATES to run and will slide around in the pocket looking for guys to get open.  He only runs as a last resort and he always either runs out of bounds or slides, unlike Wentz.

4. Dak isnt even close to Baker in anything.  I mean not even in the same discussion.

I honestly dont think the Browns would trade him for anyone - INCLUDING Mahomes - because when you couple his skill-set with his "major chip on his shoulder" persona the guy is perfect for leading a franchise out of the dirt.

And he is.

02/11/2019 - 3:05pm The Browns are going to be…

The Browns are going to be fucking LETHAL in 2019.  Not only are they going to win the AFC North they are going to win at least one playoff game.  Sleep on them if you want but the "ha, ha the browns are so browns...ha, ha, ha they suck." jokes are pretty much done.

1. We have Baker Mayfield.  Best young QB outside of Mahomes by FAR and he's only going to get better.

2. We have a defense with a lot of excellent players now led by a more than competent DC with something to prove to the NFL.

3. We have the deepest RB position squad in the league

4. We have a very favorable 2019 schedule.  We play the NFC west with both difficult games (Rams, Seahawks) at home and the easy games (Cardinals, 49ers) on the road.

5. We have the most cap room of any team

6. We have 11 draft picks (most of any team in the league)

7. We have John motherfucking Dorsey.  You want the pimp hand?  This dude is the OG.  Evidence this Hunt signing.

8. We have the same, very effective offense, coming back for the first time in forever.  Yet to be seen how Freddie Kitchens will fare as an HC but he did fantastic as an OC

Super Bowl.....SUPER BROWNS!!!!   Yeah.

02/11/2019 - 12:48pm I have maintained for a…

I have maintained for a while that one of the big reasons Michigan teams under Beilein have generally done so well in the NCAA tournament is because we are free from the B1G official pool where his style of basketball is punished.   Look at the prototypical B1G teams like Wisconsin, Michigan State & Purdue.  Once they are placed in games with officials that dont reward flopping and actually call fouls on hacks from guys like Harp they get into BIG trouble.

Look at Michigan's foul differential in OOC games versus conference games.  For some odd reason we seem to foul a LOT more frequently under the watchful eye of B1G officials than those from other conferences.

Glad to have that game behind us.

02/11/2019 - 12:24pm Gonna be quite a game…

Gonna be quite a game tonight at the Q as the Cavs, losers of 4 in a row and currently sitting at the bottom (or top depending on your perspective) of the standings host the Knicks.  They having lost 14 in a row and only 1/2 games behind (ahead?) of the Cavs in the race to the bottom.

02/08/2019 - 12:16pm Back in 2016 i ran into Phil…

Back in 2016 i ran into Phil heading into one the Cavs finals games against the Warriors.  I am the same age as him so we were at Mich the same years.  I yelled out "Phil-Go Blue" and he yelled Go Blue right back.

So he and i sang the Victors in the concourse of Quicken Loans arena and my wife filmed the whole thing!

Great, great guy.

What if they put the Brady statue in front of the Big House January through April.  Then the Henson statue for May-August and then put the Brady statue September till December?

For all the NBA haters who claim nobody plays defense i present the career of Nik as proof otherwise.

Dude can shoot like hell and is out of the league after a short and dissapointing career.  There's a reason everbody is looking for guys who "three and D".

Ya gotta play some to stick.

4:37 AM is a possible start time.

Unlikely, but it is possible.

I'm sure others will have different possible start times given the wide range of possibilities a 24 hour day presents.

02/06/2019 - 1:25pm I think you're right.   I…

I think you're right.   I had always said it incorrectly it seems.

Now, if this "new and improved" website had an edit feature for original board posts like our old, crappy, outdated piece of shit one did beforehand I could fix my error.  But alas - due to this really great new site that has no edit feature I am forced to bask in the shame of my error until it falls off the front page of the board.

02/06/2019 - 12:46pm True.   But how do you go…

True.   But how do you go from not being good enough to be Ryan Day's DC to being the preferred DC choice of Bill Belichick?

Given that the only Patriots Defensive Coordinator to NOT get a HC job in the NFL in the past 20 years was Dean Peas I think it's safe to say Greg will be back soon as well.

02/06/2019 - 12:08pm Well one thing I know for…

Well one thing I know for sure is the car you turned down wasnt a Dodge Stratus.  Put one of the those babies on the table as a benefit and no man can be expected to say no.

Speaking as a poster who has also taken unpopular opinions and defended them against the board from time to time I have to say I respect your resolve on this issue.

I dont agree with your conclusion but I'm tipping my MGoHat at your efforts in defending it.

02/06/2019 - 10:39am You left off the best one…

You left off the best one IMO.  Absolutely clean lines and perfectly done (and quite similar to the Fab 5 unis).   The mid-60's Cazzie Russell era unis.

02/06/2019 - 9:54am Respectfully disagree.  Hoke…

Respectfully disagree.  Hoke, by all appearances, seems like a genuinely good dude who loves Michigan and was promoted miles over his head by Brandon.

Look I am as unqualified to be a head football coach at a power 5 college as my cat Murphy but if Warde Manual called me tomorrow and offered me a 5 year contract for 4MM a year to be the HC I wouldnt say no because I love Michigan.  I would take the dream job and hope like hell I could figure it out on the fly.  As would most people I think and Hoke was way more qualified for the job than me or most people.

Blame Brandon, not Hoke, for his hiring and subsequent failure at the job.  Not his fault he was chosen so yes, I can feel bad for the public humiliation he's faced as Peter Principle levels his career arc off at DLine coach.

02/06/2019 - 9:47am Why do I envision the OP…

Why do I envision the OP being one of those guys who posts "Upset alert" threads when a team we dont like is behind late in a game thereby assuring said team will mount an amazing comeback and win the game?

FWIW Nate Lewis had this first and got ripped for sharing it.

Sad for Evans

02/05/2019 - 4:40pm "Hamilton reverted to the…

"Hamilton reverted to the Stanford sludge-ball that is his lizard brain default. How much of that is real and how much of it is finding a scapegoat is unknowable"

It may be unknowable on February 5th but I can assure it will be VERY "knowable" about 1pm on August 31st.  Pep is the variable but Jim is the constant.

02/05/2019 - 1:04pm Well he walked from San…

Well he walked from San Diego State to take the Michigan job so he definitely knows the route.

Talk about the coaching "walk of shame".  Leave SDS as HC to take Michigan job in 2010.  Return to SDS as D Line coach in 2019.

02/04/2019 - 1:59pm The new and improved format…

The new and improved format makes it confusing as hell to follow but I wasnt responding to you - i was responding to the poster directly underneath you.  And I have no way of knowing the extent of yours or anyone else's experience in doing a 360 - I was referencing my own viewpoint on them.

And where on earth do you get a "the sky is falling" take from me?  I pointed out it the uniformity of the negative responses concerning Michigan would be concerning to me if I was in a position of authority.   Which I am not obviously.

Candidly for someone with 20 years plus experience in this area I'm a bit surprised you're not concerned.

02/04/2019 - 1:36pm Which one?  There are a LOT…

Which one?  There are a LOT to choose from don't forget.

02/04/2019 - 1:21pm How DARE they offer a…

How DARE they offer a congratulatory tweet to own of their alumni!!!!!!

IMO there is a ton of shit you can rightly rip MSU for but sending out a twitter high-five to one of their own after the Super Bowl isn't one of them.

02/04/2019 - 12:57pm Anybody that's spent any…

Anybody that's spent any time in executive management knows what a 360 evaluation is and these comments, to me anyways, are the "prospective employee" input field. The uniformity in their responses regarding Michigan tell a pretty clear story (IMO) on how people perceive the coaching staff and the school experience in general.

If I got these comments from the direct reports of one of my managers I can assure you we'd be having a very heart-to-heart meeting in my office that day.   I would be very concerned.

02/04/2019 - 12:17pm Take it FWIW but you've got…

Take it FWIW but you've got 15 different people from different schools and different backgrounds and they all are uniform in their negativity about Michigan.  I know nobody here on the board wants to hear it but guys that isn't what you want to see.

Take a look at the comments made by the players not going to either MSU or Michigan.  They are either benign or positive about the MSU experience (even though they're not going there) and negative about Michigan.  Maybe it's just dumb luck that they picked the only 15 kids not positive about the Michigan recruiting process but I kinda doubt it.

That's not great Bob.  Not great at all.

02/03/2019 - 4:33pm Well now all our troubles…

Well now all our troubles are over.  Playoffs HERE WE COME!!!!

02/02/2019 - 10:58am 1. This team is scary thin…

1. This team is scary thin in depth and is vulnerable to additional losses and an early tourny knockout if games are officiated tightly or if they get an untimely injury to a starter.

2. This team plays elite defensive and if they get even average shooting will be difficult to beat and has enough talent to deliver Beilein his first NCAA championship.

Both can be true.

02/01/2019 - 3:42pm When I was at Mich it was…

When I was at Mich it was exactly the opposite of what you imagine.  I was in a fraternity (see post below) and our parties were closed to ANY male who wasn't a brother.  We didnt single out athletes for exclusion-we didnt let any guy in who wasnt "one of us".

Athletes, especially certain members if the football team, didnt like that and thought they should be allowed to attend just because they were football players.  That's when conflict arose.

So is that considered "challenging athletes" because we didnt open the party up to someone we didnt invite?

02/01/2019 - 1:41pm My senior year (1981) Steve…

My senior year (1981) Steve Smith, our starting QB, tried to crash one of my fraternity's party.  I was a Sigma Chi and we are right next to the Union and sit between South & West Quad so if you're in any of those places, and the party is loud, you know it's happening.

He got stopped at the door by one of my fraternity brothers who called for me and couple other guys who were pretty big (one of which was the Big 10 heavyweight wrestling champion) to stop him from getting in because Smith was both drunk and determined to get inside.

Believe it or not Smith pulled the "do you know who I am" card with me and I said "yes, we all know exactly who you are and you're still not welcome here."  It was tense for a minute or two but I think he and his buddies (didnt recognize either of them) realized a 3 against 40ish fight would go badly  for them so they left.

Wow it took longer than normal for the obligatory i dont watch the NBA inside a NBA thread

Im 59 so closer in age to the OP than most here and i too cringe when i hear cursing in public and especially when small kids are within earshot.

That being said it's always ok to say fuck Ohio because reasons.

And i live here.

01/31/2019 - 12:22pm Jesus thats just terrible.

Jesus thats just terrible.

Hundreds of family members of players.... i mean fans.... are going to have to rearrange their plans to see the game.

01/30/2019 - 11:13am Well FWIW i just went and…

Well FWIW i just went and checked all the schools you listed to see how many seniors are in their respective starting line-ups.

MSU - 2

Gonzaga - 1

Villanova - 1

Xavier - 1

Tennessee - 1

So think we're both a little wrong on this one.  I'm incorrect in stating having any is unusual and I think you're overstating the element of them being "senior heavy".  Or at least this year they're not.

01/30/2019 - 10:20am Um the "insane" thing in…

Um the "insane" thing in today's era of college basketball is to have ANY seniors on your team that actually play if you're 20-1.

And you're crazy if you think we're only going to lose one player off the team.  Mathews & Poole are almost for sure gone as well.

So how's that new job at Dish working out anyways?

Such a cynic.

Actually i give it less than that.  Within the next 5 posts somebody will make a comment about our current POTUS and that will send the thread off the deep end.
