What happened in recruiting last year?

07/20/2018 - 12:54pm Section 18 row 1. Great…

Section 18 row 1. Great group of people who are loud, fun, and willing to stand.

07/19/2018 - 1:23pm Not sure where you're…

Not sure where you're getting your info, but Peters was second string out of spring ball.  Unless Dylan puts on weight he is going to have a hard time making it through a season 6'5" and 199 lbs (last reported weight) could get broken in half.  Especially if Bosa blindsides him.

07/16/2018 - 7:25pm You mean pan pizza? Never…

You mean pan pizza? Never seen a true deep dish pizza out of Detroit. Chicago deep dish is far superior.

Have a hard time reading? It says scheduled official.

05/31/2018 - 7:58am Stars don't matter?

Yes they do. This has been proven over and over.  If you want proof look at the rosters of the teams that played in the NC game last year.

05/31/2018 - 7:54am In line with PSU?

Down a full point per player to PSU with almost 1/2 our class three stars to 1/4 of theirs.  Interesting that their lowest rated player is the #11 juco player in the country and #1 safety.  Being much closer this year to OSU isn't goinmg to take much considering last year was one of the worst recruiting classes in my lifetime, but still down two points per player.  As far as Clemson, they have a punter this year so that 78 brings their average way down.  If you take the punters average out they are equal with us.

The biggest difference is that we are not on the crystal ball projection line for any top 100 recruits while the others you mentioned are. Granted CBs aren't always right

05/30/2018 - 1:55pm So PJ is the

05/30/2018 - 1:55pm So PJ is the

05/29/2018 - 1:58pm They also have 4 OOC games to our 3

thus the talk of M scheduling three cupcakes.  Bama's P5 opponents in 2018 have 64 combined wins last year and they play one 10 win team.  Michigan's P5 opponents have 84 wins and 6 10 win teams are on the schedule. Georgia's had 60 wins and one 10 win team from last year.

05/26/2018 - 2:32pm That's because

He didn't want to bankrupt the athletic department.

05/26/2018 - 2:27pm Because we will have played Wisconsin

six years in a row prior.

05/26/2018 - 2:22pm I always enjoyed the opportunity to see

players that work hard in practice getting some game action.

05/22/2018 - 2:01pm Not only that, but

the D played a lot of 3-3-5 last year.

05/18/2018 - 2:35pm Kind of like the stuff

in the OP's picture.

05/12/2018 - 10:33am WRs dropping balls

also factor into completion percentage and his WRs dropped quite a few balls.  Nobody is expecting him to start, but you act like you have been to practice or something.  Sam Webb has been and has stated if Milton has as good a fall camp as he did in the spring don't be surprised to see a package for him during the season.  I think I'll take Sam's word before JonnyHintz.

05/12/2018 - 10:28am And you would be

05/12/2018 - 10:24am Since per Sam

McCaffrey and Milton were tied for third you may be wrong.  McCaffrey still needs to add weight because 199 lbs at 6'5" is still rail thin for getting blindsided by a DE or blitzing LBer.

05/11/2018 - 1:06pm Looks like Iowa twice on Carton's jersey

either that or it is the darkest Blue I have ever seen in my life.

05/11/2018 - 1:01pm Hinton probably grows into a 3 tech

once he gets into a college S&C program.

05/10/2018 - 1:32pm Who is this tackle

I'm curious.

05/07/2018 - 2:05pm To be fair

they lost 2 DTs, 2 LBs, and their entire secondary, possibly the best RB in school history, leading wr in school history, TE freak, and their OC.

05/06/2018 - 6:16pm The Eastern Conference is a joke

that's why he stays there.  The competition they played against is totally different as is the game.  Think of the teams MJ went up against in the East and name one current team that would advance past the first round.

Funny thing is players have to give up their game to play with him.  Bosh and Love went from superstars to minor role players.  Kyrie couldn't stand playing with him so he left.

05/04/2018 - 5:22pm Mitch was not a composite 5 star

in the final rankings, but GR3 was.

05/01/2018 - 6:42pm To think if I wouldn't have played 12 years of football

I might have my Doctorate instead of this lowly Masters.

04/29/2018 - 1:24pm That's exactly why I never bet on Michigan

Nothing worse than losing money because your team won but didn't cover the spread.  Except losing.

04/28/2018 - 2:27pm He had 9 sacks in 4 years

with a high of 3 as a senior.  So if you actually believe he is a pass rusher you must be a Lions fan.

04/28/2018 - 2:21pm Absolutely no one but the Browns

and their draft this year made me change my mind about the Lions.  They are no longer the most incompetent franchise in the NFL.  Who reaches at #1 and #4?

04/26/2018 - 12:54pm I want

the Fords to sell the team!

04/20/2018 - 12:56pm Athletic with a good mid range game

but in the NBA he is a 2 guard.  Needs to improve his handle, improve his outside shot, and cut down on turnovers.

04/20/2018 - 12:36pm Not a bad idea

I'm sure you would have no problem renting it out.

04/16/2018 - 9:32pm Keegan is OSU's to lose

We are probably 3rd for him.  Stewart's other B1G offers were from Indiana, Maryland, and Rutgers.  This is the type of player we use to pick up late (if needed) not 8 months before signing day.

Carpenter's other B1G offers are Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, Minny, and NW.  I would like to think that we should be recruiting against OSU, PSU, and Wisconsin.

04/13/2018 - 6:39pm He said he lost all his scholarship offers

so it had to be his HS coach.  The doctors didn't tell the coach anything because most HS are lucky to be able to afford an AT yet alone a doctor.  I won't say what I think of those who recruited him if he felt it that necessary to play in that much pain to maintain a scholarship offer. It also makes you wonder where were the parents?  Mine would have benched me immediately if I was in that much pain.

04/12/2018 - 8:53pm Good landing spot?

Unless Kelly is changing the offense he has run in college this is the equivalent of Threet at QB with RichRod.

04/11/2018 - 4:37pm Serviceable?

That's a matter of opinion. If you have hardly seen the floor in two years you are probably in over your head.  Fouling out in 7 seven minutes against Detroit Mercy (Mo didn't play so he was the backup) indicates that to me.  That is just my take.  I do hope Austin proves me wrong next season it would be good for the team.

04/11/2018 - 4:22pm That didn't stop us from playing Mo

Same situation, you have an advantage on one end and a disadvantage on the other.  If he is the 215 (Mo listed at 210 when recruited) he is listed at it should be relatively easy to put 15-20 lbs on him before next basketball season. That would put him relatively close to Mo"s listed size now. Teske played as a freshman and he was listed at 210 coming in.

04/10/2018 - 4:31pm If Davis plays an important role

the team is in trouble.  Unless he improves leaps and bounds from where he is now after two years in the program.

04/04/2018 - 3:50pm If basketball has the same rules as football

wouldn't that eliminate them from recruiting Tyrese since he wasn't hired as a coach  Or does that rule only apply to football.

03/31/2018 - 11:01pm Some interesting changes

Kekoa now 41, Kareem 46, Shea and Oliver Martin both 2, and 3 offensive players wearing 5.

03/09/2018 - 3:08pm Would have been good enough this year?

Did you see us struggle against Cincy, Air Force, and Purdue while he was at the helm?  And those teams compare to Auburn, Alabama, and LSU how?

02/25/2018 - 10:43pm Big has the best?

Need I remind you you of the ACC/B1G challenge.

02/16/2018 - 3:22pm Spartans wii

Sexually assault you.

02/06/2018 - 1:11pm Wife has a volleyball tournament Valentine's weekend

in Chicago so I'm taking her a couple days early (she's never been) to see the town and go see Hamilton.

02/05/2018 - 2:48pm I think Dez Bryant and the Cowboys

would disagree with you and I hate the Cowboys.

01/28/2018 - 10:49pm Should have just offered her $130,000

to keep her mouth shut.

01/25/2018 - 7:25pm Did you look at the chart?

Except for coaching change years there is only one year I can remember Michigan taking more 3 stars then 4 stars, RR in 2010.  Furthermore, these aren't high 3 stars they are primarily middle down (composite 3 stars start at 370) and we have more players ranked 600 and below then I can ever remember.  Basically we need over half our recruiting class to exceed their rankings.  If Otis Reese stays with his verbal he is Michigan's highest ranked recruit.  Ohio State has 11 guys ranked ahead of him.  In the top 250 its 18 to 6 for OSU.

01/24/2018 - 12:19pm Why do you think posters are trolls?

Because they don't agree with your so well informed opinions?  The bottom line is that since the ranking system came into effect there has only been one non coaching change year that Michigan had taken more three stars than four stars, RR in 2010.  Quite frankly, I expect more from Harbaugh and his highly paid staff.  When you are trying to catch your arch rival and they only have to count on their recruits performing close to their rankins and you need yours to exceed theirs you are fighting an uphill battle.

If you're fine with 8-4 and third or fourth in your division then by all means be satisfied with this recruiting class.  If you expect more I see nothing wrong with voicing displeasure.  If you want to be the leaders and best it starts in recruiting because stars do matter.  It doesn't mean I still don't believe Harbaugh is the best coach for the team because I do.  I just want the program to get back to the days when they were a perennial contender for the conference championship.

Next year's recruiting class has stated out fantastic and I would rather see the team keep some fifth year guys around or give one year scholarships to some walk ons instead of taking on a bunch of plan B guys, but that's my personal opinion.

01/18/2018 - 1:15pm Why don't you like PSU at night?

Hoke beat Franklin at night in the Big House.  We aren't playing them in Happy Valley this year. We should beat Nebraska without the benefit of the night crowd.

01/18/2018 - 12:47pm Take the good with the bad

McGrone's composite is 181 and Hutchinson is at 195.  If we take the good with the bad 247 has Spider in the 460's while he's at 152 composite.  247 also isn't as high on Muhammad.

01/18/2018 - 12:47pm Mayfield actually dropped

was at 100.
