Haliburton seems like a good player and is out playing his rankings, but I'm not sure what draft boards he is on.

01/30/2019 - 10:56am "

Beilein is a bit of a…

"Beilein is a bit of a fraud. . .he's won about 63% of his games, career wise, less than that at U-M.. .SO, this notion that he is some kind of basketball wizard is not evident in the record. . .he likes to be portrayed as a humble guy who has worked his up to the Big Time by his amazing ability to win with sod-buster players. . .he has an aw-shucks schtick: 'why when I was coaching at Shit Kicker U., we had a roster of 1 one legged players, so I had to devise this incredible system to beat the giants we played against'. . .truth is , he's never been a giant killer with his teams of one-legged players. . .and at Michigan he's a 20-13 coach, on average. . .considering you got 7 to 8 gimme wins every year, 20-13 is nothing.  Beilien is not a great coach.  He's done nothing special, anywhere, ever.

This *nice guy, good man* routine is a little hard to swallow, also. . .there are some stories about the Cassius Winston recruiting that do not reflect well on Beilein, and what does he have against local players, anyway?  Shit, he'd be better off taking local guys like Corey Allen instead of these Ali Rahkman guys. . .get his ass out of here, he won't be missed."

01/30/2019 - 10:41am So many "great" posts in…

So many "great" posts in these threads. Any time I see a Maizen post I just laugh. So glad he's been exterminated. Funny to see how much he is praising Harbaugh, should go to show you that he's purely a concern troll and his Harbaugh opinions should be looked at in light of his Beilein comments.

He had a post that mentioned Nike was gonna do anything in their power to get a big name coach at Michigan lol

EDIT: Geez finished all of it. People were trying to smear even his good years. And there were maybe one or two posters pointing out all the injuries and early entries that had set the program back so much. I think I had just bowed out of the threads at that point and stopped trying to argue cause the Beilein "excuse makers" were getting shouted down.

01/29/2019 - 1:43pm That's an 11 man rotation so…

That's an 11 man rotation so not gonna happen most likely. Only one of Nunez or Bajema will get minutes at the 2, and thats ignoring the possibility that Brooks or Dejulius takes those minutes also (which I would bet on). So if you take those 2 out it becomes a much more manageable 9 man rotation.

01/28/2019 - 3:20pm I just don't know about the…

I just don't know about the people calling for Dejulius. He's looked really bad when he's been out there. And obviously its been pretty much primarily with all the other freshman and walkons but he's missed the rim on half his shots. Not saying that means he'll never be good, but Brooks has done a decent job running the offense and plays very sound positional defense. IMO that's more important than having the backup try to make a play. Plus Brooks had some good games in the noncon part of the schedule.

01/28/2019 - 11:11am I'm not sure Dejulius has…

I'm not sure Dejulius has hit the rim on a majority of his shot attempts this season.

Dorin Torn is almost a cooler name than Torin Dorn

01/18/2019 - 9:42am I think you're thinking of…

I think you're thinking of the late 90s, early 2000s NBA. The current NBA has many teams that play extremely unselfishly.

One on one =/= selfish basketball. And even so one on one basketball can be so effective in the NBA because the players are just that good.

01/18/2019 - 9:04am Came to this thread to see…

Came to this thread to see the garbage NBA takes, and wow are there even more then I thought there'd be. This thread is basically a massive NBA sucks circle jerk.

01/18/2019 - 9:02am Aren't enough good shooters?…

Aren't enough good shooters? Is that sarcasm? Shooting is quite clearly at a level never seen before, since multiple generations of players have grown up with the 3pt shot.

01/14/2019 - 4:32pm he's still a 4 year guy. He…

he's still a 4 year guy. He's a junior and he's had no such discernible NBA buzz to worry about and players like him are not very sought after. He's a perfect Center for us though and the NBA's loss is our gain. He may get a shot at the NBA, and he could get drafted if he gets his 39% next season

01/02/2019 - 11:09am You like McCafferey's deep…

You like McCafferey's deep ball better? He threw what, 3 or 4 deep balls all season? While Patterson was the best or 2nd best in the B1G in that category.

12/12/2018 - 9:42am Does he actually though? Or…

Does he actually though? Or is he just playing it up because of TV? I saw the video, just trying to give Jalen the BOTD

12/11/2018 - 1:44pm We're not a bad FT shooting…

We're not a bad FT shooting team, we just have 3 bad FT shooters (X, Teske, Matthews). Matthews has looked much improved since his 0-5 start (66% since then). That leaves us with 2 bad shooters. If needed, Teske and X and can be replaced by Livers and Brooks in a late game situation where we know we're gonna get fouled.

12/11/2018 - 1:40pm You just said Gonzaga isn't…

You just said Gonzaga isn't that good? What do you mean by "that good"? They're a top 5 team and are missing one of their best players. That sounds like a tough 2 seed to me

12/06/2018 - 3:05pm Vecenie is most certainly…

Vecenie is most certainly getting his data from Synergy and it is probably correct. People often confuse any drive as an isolation, but anytime you catch a pass and go to the basket without much of any hesitation it is considered a Spot Up - catch and drive situation, not an isolation or 1 on 1.

12/05/2018 - 9:52am But the thing is, Teske and…

But the thing is, Teske and Davis came in in the same class. Davis isn't a freshman. He's been here just as long as Teske. And quite frankly his limitations are something he cannot fix and cannot be developed.

12/04/2018 - 1:14pm Teske will not be going to…

Teske will not be going to the NBA this year. First off, he's hit 3 3's all year. Secondly, he's just not an NBA athlete right now. If he keeps it up he'll get a shot after his senior year but there is a 0% chance he gets any looks after this season.

12/04/2018 - 10:36am Kinda surprised Brian is so…

Kinda surprised Brian is so deep into the coach in waiting idea. I don't think that's fair to Yaklich. When Beilein was out, it was Saadi that took over responsibility as head coach. If the current trajectory continues, when Beilein retires Michigan could be in a very good position to be the best job out there and a top 10 job overall. I can't see a program of that level settling for a young coach in waiting without interviewing anyone else. I think it'd be best for Yaklich future as Michigan's head coach if he left and proved he could be the head man, as Alex mentioned.

12/03/2018 - 3:30pm Theoretically, the entire…

Theoretically, the almost entire Duke roster could be back.

11/29/2018 - 3:01pm He's not going to be a…

He's not going to be a lottery pick. Just doesn't have the projectable athleticism for it, or and A+ skill like Stauskas had. He's a bit unconventional as Brian said, and he's a walking bucket as Dylan from UMHoops would say. I don't think he was really on NBA radars coming into the season, so he's not on any type of mock drafts right now. At this point in the season DJ Wilson was a nobody to NBA scouts, Mo was a 2nd round flier, etc.

If he keeps up his play, I have a feeling he will find his way into the first round discussion. He's just too good. And if he's in that discussion, he should probably leave.

11/29/2018 - 2:32pm The 2013 team had 5 first…

The 2013 team had 5 first rounders and a 2nd rounder that was a higher ranked recruit than most all of the 1st rounders. Not to take anything away from this team that looks fantastic, hard to say this team has more talent than 2013.

11/14/2018 - 11:53pm I'm not sure it's really…

I'm not sure it's really fair to "expect" a conference championship either. Especially with unbalanced schedules. Plus, the Big Ten has looked way beyond expectations early. Wisconsin and IU were both unranked preseason, but I expect them to be top 25 teams for sure. Nebraska looks impressive as well, and MSU is solid if slightly overated relative to the rest of the conference. Basically only Kansas fans can expect a conference championship in any given year

Pepperoni's! I know exactly where you were haha

11/14/2018 - 10:00pm I would actually prefer he…

I would actually prefer he leave and get head coaching experience if we go that route. Then if he does well than he can get a shot at the job when Beilein leaves.

11/13/2018 - 11:26am Seems like McMurphy sources…

Seems like McMurphy sources on this one were less than credible. OSU players would not be standing up for Zach Smith if this were true. This is unfortunate because it makes McMurphy as a whole seem less than credible with all of his Urban Meyer reporting.

11/09/2018 - 9:04am I hate people who say any…

I hate people who say any non-elite team sucks. You should ask him how many teams do not suck, if his definition of suck includes Penn State, Iowa, and MSU.

11/08/2018 - 11:09pm The odd thing is, nobody…

The odd thing is, nobody thinks the ACC is any good except the committee. I have no idea what their rationale is. I guess they thought it would be crazy to have a bunch of 3 loss teams ranked that high? Just move Fresno State and Utah State up.

11/07/2018 - 3:50pm Upvote to pay respekt to MSU

Upvote to pay respekt to MSU

11/07/2018 - 2:31pm But the committee member…

But the committee member questioned here said they thought LSU was better than those teams, not that they had a better resume.

11/07/2018 - 2:30pm I don't see how Northwestern…

I don't see how Northwestern and Wisconsin having a chance to make the playoff is a positive. They don't deserve it for an upset in the CCG.

11/07/2018 - 2:27pm And Nebraska is a much…

And Nebraska is a much better team than La Tech

11/07/2018 - 11:42am The committee is…

The committee is manipulating jack squat. Why would the committee want two SEC teams in? Add in the possibility of ND getting in and you think the powers that be want 2 conferences represented and leave out a national brand like Michigan? Take off the tinfoil hats.

Yes particular teams in the SEC are overrated, but I'd also argue some are underrated. The rankings just have them in the wrong order. The SEC is definitely the best conference according to S&P+

11/07/2018 - 11:36am I'll take you up on that bet…

I'll take you up on that bet. If we shoot less than 30% that would be an unmitigated disaster and we would not make the tournament

11/07/2018 - 10:03am I don't agree with the…

I don't agree with the conference champion automatic qualifier option, and all I have to do is point to the ACC and B1G this year as the reason. Pitt is leading the Coastal division right now. Pitt sucks. Northwestern is leading the West and we know they are mediocre and lost to Duke(!!!!!!!). If either of those teams pulled off an upset in the CCG, you think they should be in a 6 team playoff? As long as conferences are gonna have terribly unbalanced divisions and schedules I am not for conference champion auto bids.

11/07/2018 - 9:22am I agree that Simpson can be…

I agree that Simpson can be overrated by our fanbase, not really a surprise considering he's a really tough, fan favorite type player. But suggesting Nunez as the answer? Yikes dude. Our offense will not be great, even when Simpson is off the court. But his passing is worth something and it may be better for us to just double down on defense anyway.

11/07/2018 - 9:19am Yeah as mentioned by…

Yeah as mentioned by ypsituckyboy, that kind of 3 pt shooting will probably be the norm. He's not a Stauskian player, even though they share Lithuanian and Canadian heritage. I would take 33% from him from deep.

11/06/2018 - 4:37pm Rich Rod definitely lost to…

Rich Rod definitely lost to OSU because he didn't think it was important. For sure. The ineptitude of his team was just a part.

11/06/2018 - 2:29pm I'm not one to pile on guys…

I'm not one to pile on guys for reposting things, but when it's breaking news for something as big as a recruit decommitting then you have to know it's been extensively discussed 24 hours later.

11/06/2018 - 2:21pm I just don't get the…

I just don't get the committee's current infatuation with the ACC. What has Syracuse done to be ranked that high? Beat NC State I guess. But why is NC State ranked 14th? Because they beat 17th ranked Boston College. But why is Boston College ranked 17th? Ahh yes the team that got whooped by not ranked Purdue.

11/06/2018 - 11:26am I agree with your 3rd…

I agree with your 3rd paragraph. I have been somewhat surprised at how much loathing is going on in OSU land, including people conceding The Game. But I have taken that as mostly people emotionally hedging so if OSU loses for once they can say "well of course we lost, Michigan is way better" but if they win they can say "HAHA still can't beat us. Meyer uber alles. Harblow sucks."

I am expecting a very close game in 3 weeks between 2 really good games. Imo home field advantage give OSU the slightest of edges.

11/06/2018 - 10:58am Breaking news: Michigan fans…

Breaking news: Michigan fans on Michigan board overly excited. I never get these posts. And btw I agree with most of your comment, but what kind of response are you expecting here? We just ran over 3 ranked teams,  everyone is excited. I'd still say, if you go through every thread, there is a fear of OSU for the reasons you mentioned. Although I will contest "Harbaugh has a well-established reputation for losing big games, particularly when there's a lot on the line." It's a media driven thing. A couple tiny breaks go Michigan's way and that narrative is never even mentioned at all.

BTW, I see you joined in 2016 specifically to argue about the spot. LOL.

11/06/2018 - 10:53am You've had some good posts…

You've had some good posts. And you can call us scUM all you want on 11W, as childish as it is. But calling us scUM on our board and is getting you negged even though you have made some analytical posts.

11/06/2018 - 10:49am Ezekiel Elliot, the way off…

Ezekiel Elliot, the way off the radar top 70 player? Also Jim Harbaugh did not recruit Derrick Green so you missed on that one. JK Dobbins, the guys ranked 50 spots ahead of Kareem Walker? Kareem did not flame out at Michigan for lack of talent.

I get your overall point, people trying to peg Urban as a guy just throwing out offers to the top ranked guys ala Larry Coker is not accurate. But please leave out the douche connotations implying his vast superiority to Harbaugh in that regard. You cherry picked 3 examples, 2 of which don't really make any sense. Oh and Karan Higdon is better than Mike Weber so shove that up your ass.

11/05/2018 - 10:13am He's a 2020 recruit. He's…

He's a 2020 recruit. He's gonna land on his feet. Very different than pulling an offer from a senior after his season

11/05/2018 - 9:32am If we lose to Alabama it…

If we lose to Alabama it will not be because of Dan Enos, I promise.

11/03/2018 - 9:53pm 2016 was better than 2006…

2016 was better than 2006.the 2016 team has become underrated by a lot of fans. That team was so good, and was inches from the playoffs

11/03/2018 - 9:43pm We’re better than LSU…

We’re better than LSU. Burrow is awful.

11/01/2018 - 8:54am 1. 20s male

2. I watch all…

1. 20s male

2. I watch all of them start to finish live unless there is a massive hinderance. If we're not at home I use my phone.

3. Not much now. This is our 3rd football season married, and she has accepted it a lot more. She previously would give me some amount of grief. I will say that I personally have sacrificed a lot of the time I would have normally spent watching other CFB or NFL games though. It's worth it to me to spend time with her, our daughter, and stress free time watching M football.

10/30/2018 - 1:54pm Highly doubt Dejulius will…

Highly doubt Dejulius will get more minutes than Brooks this season. Brooks has been getting tons of preseason hype and Dejulius seems to be struggling to pick up the Beilein offense as a freshman (as Brooks and X did as well). Brooks is also a better off the ball option.
