07/14/2018 - 3:25pm Talk about a donkey punch…

Talk about a donkey punch. Still, this program has overcome far worse against all odds to become a truly elite program in college basketball. It doesn't weather storm, it is the storm

07/12/2018 - 5:48pm Capital One Cup does that…

Capital One Cup does that very good thing I believe

Beilein's cleaning house in the Big Ten recruiting. Currently leading (Wisconsin is actually second) the Crystal Balls race. Think he could very well be JB's first McDonald's All-American given his rankings (given we actually land him)

07/03/2018 - 11:39pm SMU we already got the score…

SMU we already got the score settled actually. Remember the 2K Sports Classic

It's crazy to think Moe could be on a championship team in his rookie year, assuming they don't trade him in a deal for Kawhi Leonard (or Boogie Cousins)

06/24/2018 - 6:38pm Opponents circle our game…

Opponents circle our game more than any other Big Ten team except Ohio State still. Naturally that means we'll get a lot of night games on the road. Our overall road record over the last decade is good for eighth (!!!) in the Big Ten. Until our road woes are resolved, nothing else matter for the football program

06/16/2018 - 5:22pm Duffy Daughtery. Didn't he…

Duffy Daughtery. Didn't he plagiarize someone by saying "A tie is like kissing your sister"? I'm sure he would've said he originated the quote

06/12/2018 - 8:13pm The thought of two alpha…

The thought of two alpha males in Draymond and Wagner on the same team, being from rival schools albeit not overlapping each other, has got to make the front office think that over greatly before choosing him

05/31/2018 - 11:25am Would like to see 6 or less L's

Win the regular season title and get to the Elite Eight or better. But if we get to the title game again I will not accept another loss. Only round in the tournament we don't have a winning record in and we're already 5 games under all-time

05/31/2018 - 2:14am I'm predicting a 11-1 record

With our sacraficial lamb being we lose to dickhead Scott Frost on his first try. Reason I'm going this route is because nearly every national champion in the Playoff era has had a head scratching home loss at some point in the season

05/30/2018 - 11:49pm This is already the winningest two-year stretch

In program history (tied with 2013-14). Two more years like those and that senior class could go down as the most decorated in program history, similar maybe to Wisconsin's senior class that left before last year (Nigel Hayes, Bronson Koenig, etc)

05/30/2018 - 9:09pm Win or lose

That could be a good move to at least initially improve ticket sales

05/30/2018 - 11:40am This reminds me of what

University of Missouri fans would say: "Show me on autumn Saturdays"

05/30/2018 - 11:38am For the non-TD game in bad weather

I'll say without looking at the comments: 1995 against Purdue or the game against them we won 5-0

05/30/2018 - 11:21am Football in May

The culture of this country must have been extremely different back in the Guilded Age of the 1870's

05/29/2018 - 12:33pm Our NBA All-Star list is more impressive

EIGHT different guys went at least one time for a total 18 different selections

05/25/2018 - 7:48pm I imagine best-case scenario

Shea has a "2011 Mattison Effect" on our passing game. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't our total defense go from triple digits nationally to top 12 in just one year, from 2010 to 2011? If Shea has that kind of quantum leap for our passing offense, I will book my CFP tickets already right at this very moment

05/23/2018 - 4:40pm It ends where it begins

Our drought without a ranked road win dating back to 2006 started after that greatly satisfying beatdown of Un-Weis and all his "Notre Dame is back" hype. All throughout history, ND has been known for bookending massive winning streaks of dominant programs with losses (Oklahoma in the 50's in football, UCLA during the twilight of the Wooden dynasty in the 70's, etc). I say it's high time we get the Irish to help contribute to the bookending of one of our more dubious losing streaks in U-M football history

05/23/2018 - 12:53pm Chris Perry getting the ball 40 times a game

Without him getting injured or only getting 2 yards a pop

05/17/2018 - 1:47pm I count one

1941, everything else claimed since 1936 was an AP and/or Coaches' Poll national title (which by the way is our standard too for counting titles, which is why we only have one title since 1950). Not to defend Bama, but MSU is far worse in this regard than Bama

05/14/2018 - 11:17pm Just imagine if we got UVA too

In Big Ten-ACC Challenge. That could lead to a top-10 non-con SOS at the end of the season if you include a home game versus South Carolina and the away game at Cincy

05/13/2018 - 7:09pm First it was Cavs-Warriors

Next was Clemson-Bama. I'd love to see a very similar budding rivalry of two juggernaut dynasties sharing and deciding national titles among themselves start between us and Nova in CBB

05/10/2018 - 3:12pm The thing about sexual assault is

There's a razor thin gray area based on the perspective of woman. A lot of men could commit sexual misconduct in the workplace without even knowing so or intending to do so. Sometimes men are willing to test the waters of their boundaries by doing small things women might be okay with like wrapping your arm around an intern's shoulders while helping her on the workplace computer

Another issue is with the impaired judgment statute on rape where a woman could show no signs of being drunk and she'll give consent and then regret the decision later. Thus, opening up the Pandora's Box of legal issues

I'm not going to make judgment call on whether a significant number of accusers are lying. But overall, I do know that even with all the hype our country's rape culture gets, frankly it's much safer today in America for women than it is in current hellhole European countries like Sweden

05/04/2018 - 7:48pm Does this mean

We will get our home game against South Carolina this upcoming year? Since there's now at least a chance we won't play them twice

05/02/2018 - 12:10pm Lots of the same strategies in WWI

Were repeated in WWII (Germans pillaging through Belgium to get to France, forcing Germany to fight two fronts)

05/02/2018 - 11:52am Between this and the seat covers

I think the Knicks' "most dysfunctional franchise in the NBA" title is in serious jeopardy. Lions look like the Denver Broncos in comparison

05/02/2018 - 11:47am Cultural Marxism

Even when it loses it wins

04/26/2018 - 1:58pm It's a combination of the two

Overall body of work AND power rankings. And let's not try and act like MSU was some bubble team this year. I definitely agree Izzo is overrated, but considering most power rankings in the past had him a lock in the top 3 (sometimes #1) I actually thought I was harsher than most sports news sites

03/29/2018 - 4:51pm Better VT than Washington

Not that VT is terrible, but Washington is a playoff-caliber program now under Peterson and we need that as a reliable big game on resume, especially if we win

03/27/2018 - 8:07pm The whole

Greater than the sum of the parts

03/27/2018 - 12:11pm That's an interesting take

It definitely does appear Michigan football is more universally hated in this country than Michigan basketball. I chalk that up in part to our blueblood arrogance in football despite one national title in 70 years, having a polarizing head coach now in contrast to Lloyd Carr and Brady Hoke for example, among other things

03/26/2018 - 4:26pm Wow

Assuming Bridges and Jackson actually cooperate and declare for draft (big if), this could leave a somewhat open power vacuum in the Big Ten next year. Doesn't Purdue lose at least three senior starters, too? Penn State might actually have a say in who wins in the Big Ten next year as I'm guessing mostly all of them will want to stay

03/25/2018 - 10:54pm I mean, if you base

Your blueblood status SOLELY on tourney success, we're as close as it gets to a blueblood aside from UConn and MSU. 51 tourney wins even minus the sanctions. Though if you factor conference dominance we lag behind a bit. 14 regular season titles and 3 conference tournament titles sounds impressive, but take Xavier for example. They now have 18 regular season titles and 10 (!!!) conference tournament titles

03/23/2018 - 4:24pm I think this is classic example

Of the debate what do you define as the best: Most dominant or most decorated? You see I think the 1993 and even 2013 would blow the doors off this team even as good as they are. But if we reach the Final Four or even win the National Championship, I think this team would have accomplished more than both even with just reaching the Final Four because they would have the Big Ten Tournament championship and would then have more wins overall

03/18/2018 - 10:12pm Mid Tenn State = App State

The gift that keeps on giving

03/18/2018 - 8:01pm Yeah, but MSU stifled them just as badly

And that worked out well for them in their two meetings with us. Transitive property is officially worthless in college basketball

03/18/2018 - 7:54pm Nice to see from an opposing player

Nice to see not-so-easily offended, non-snowflake players are still around

03/18/2018 - 7:45pm Isn't this

Isn't this the first time Izzo has failed to reach the Sweet 16 three consecutive seasons in his whole career? LOL

03/14/2018 - 9:07pm Meh, Anchorage in '89 much more than NJIT

That team was not gonna go anywhere in 2015 regardless

03/14/2018 - 11:49am State Street vs Main Street

This analogy was made back in 2013 with Brady Hoke's teams. And it's so true. You may perform like the 85 Bears when on the practice field but if that performance doesn't carry over to Big House on Gameday, it's all irrelevant

03/13/2018 - 1:23pm If Izzo doesn't advance past the Sweet Sixteen

I feel this could be the beginning of the end for him. If you have two top-10 lottery pick locks like he has and you combine getting swept by your in-state rival with not reach the final four for the seventh times in eight tourneys that is sure to not sit well with the zealots of that fanbase. Unfortunately, losing and constant early tourney flameouts are gonna be the only thing that drives him into early retirement, not this sex scandal

03/12/2018 - 7:45pm Don't the West and Midwest

Face off in the national semi this year?

03/12/2018 - 7:42pm Big Wins

That was definitely the difference. Zero RPI top-50 wins last year. Three for sure this year (Marquette, @Ohio State, Maryland)

03/12/2018 - 7:07pm Of course Webber is okay

With the current coaching staff and players. They weren't ones he felt shaft him. Nothing's ever gonna change though between Jalen and him

03/09/2018 - 4:10pm Oh God

Please don't promote him once he's here to anything higher than that

02/28/2018 - 7:10pm I'm confused

How many Mr. Basketball of Michigan winners have we had officially? Do retroactively applied winners count or do we just have 11?

02/26/2018 - 6:19pm Right you are, my friend

All throughout history the cultures that have devalued and shunned men have always paid the price by being conquered by more masculine cultures. Look at the Iroquois once the Colonists came and took their land. Ancient Rome under Julius Caesar conquered Ancient Egypt once Cleopatra took command. The Feminist Republic of Sweden as we speak is getting carved up by Muslim refugees who by the way are committing unspeakable amounts of gang rape at five times the rate the native male population is. China and (and Russia for that matter) are gaining influence in their part of the world because they don't tolerate foreigners the way West does. Men in general have greater loyalty to the tribe than women

02/26/2018 - 11:55am That took a lot of guts too

Northwestern was making a rally into single digits and game was far from over
