02/19/2019 - 3:12pm Danna is an End (i.e. a WDE)…

Danna is an End (i.e. a WDE). Adding Danna increases my suspicion that we will play more odd front this year. Danna and Uche are both stand-up, 3-4 OLBs at the next level, IMO. A 3-4 or 5-1-5 would be a good look for us this year.

Not on campus yet - won’t be playing in the spring game

02/18/2019 - 3:23pm "Outside of this $50 million…

"Outside of this $50 million I have in the bank, I am actually pretty poor."

Ronnie Bell was obviously way underrated and the staff evaluated him. I'd think it's safe to say that the staff's evaluation of a few three stars from the latest class will well outperform the rankings as well.

WR recruiting has only been "bad" if you ignore:

1. The many top 200 recruits we have signed, and

2. The recruits who were not top 200 types that the staff clearly evaluated better than the recruiting services.

I know that there's no world in which you'll be pleased with what the staff does, but the WR position is really in a great place, regardless of your attempts to troll it.

02/18/2019 - 2:46pm Collins, Black, DPJ, and…

Collins, Black, DPJ, and Cornelius Johnson all say hello. At least two of those three will still be on the roster in 2020.

Rashawn Williams is 6'1 and is 156th in the composite. Traeshon Holden is 6'3 and is 130th on 247.

The last Biletnikoff Award winner to be taller than 6'1 was Calvin Johnson in 2006. At least 4 of the winners since then have been squarely under 6 feet.

I know you're just a troll, so this information is really for everyone else here, but at least make your bad takes somewhat hard to refute.

02/18/2019 - 1:43pm Yep! Probably put Martinez…

Yep! Probably put Martinez in there too, although he can move around.

02/18/2019 - 12:51pm I hope we take Rashawn…

I hope we take Rashawn Williams and that’s it for in-state WRs. Better options elsewhere (AJ Henning, Traeshon Holden, etc.).

02/18/2019 - 12:09pm It’d be so fun to watch him…

It’d be so fun to watch him and Mo play together again.

02/18/2019 - 12:08pm Agreed.

Agreed.

02/18/2019 - 11:56am I actually am not as certain…

I actually am not as certain of this. I think he will be a DE in the league, the only question will be if a 3-4 or 4-3 team drafts him. I mean, he could move inside, I just don’t think it’s as inevitable as most seem to think. He’s still very long and athletic, and can be a versatile edge guy.

02/18/2019 - 11:48am Seen Gary and Bush both…

Seen Gary and Bush both going to the Raiders in a few mocks. I’d have to become a Raiders fan if they started Bush, Gary, and Hurst in their front seven. That’s nasty.

02/18/2019 - 11:47am Gary will start from day one…

Gary will start from day one in the league.

02/18/2019 - 11:46am Bro we can’t start a German…

Bro we can’t start a German on the same line as two other white guys named Aidan and Braiden, that’s a hate crime.

02/17/2019 - 9:19pm Could be starting Aidan and…

Could be starting Aidan and Braiden at both ends in a couple years. Caucasity intensifies.

02/17/2019 - 9:43am Wait, what? Bredeson is "not…

Wait, what? Bredeson is "not good" is an actual opinion?

02/16/2019 - 6:35pm I'll say:

1. Bredeson

2…

I'll say:

1. Bredeson

2. DPJ

3. Ruiz

Black and Collins could be great too. Of the EE freshmen, I think Charbonnet, Ojabo, and Mazi Smith will all have long careers.

Bredeson, DPJ, and Ruiz all seem to have the edge and talent and also intelligence to make it last a long time. Not that others don't, those three just stand out to me.

02/14/2019 - 8:09pm If you have proof of Durkin…

If you have proof of Durkin doing bad things at Michigan that’d be great to hear. If not, and you’re just basing your assumptions on the death of his player due to the negligence of his medical staff at a different school where he was the head guy instead of an underling, well call me a child I guess. I must not understand the workings of your galaxy brain.

02/14/2019 - 5:40pm The kid's own dad wouldn't…

The kid's own dad wouldn't take the son's side in this. The whole incident reeks of a kid who doesn't understand what is acceptable and unacceptable in football, and tried to play getting his helmet or his shoulder pads smacked into a national scandal because his feelings were hurt.

Jim's not going to hire someone who will abuse players. Leavitt has worked many other places without a whisper of impropriety, and I trust Jim's evaluation in 2015 and today.

Also lol @ that last line. Don't be a drama queen, it's not a good look.

02/14/2019 - 5:23pm It's honestly an ideal…

It's honestly an ideal situation for him. Come help us be a top ten defense again with absolutely zero pressure, while still being a millionaire, and take the credit and get a good gig next year.

02/14/2019 - 5:11pm The speculation is there…

The speculation is there because 1. it's February and there aren't many jobs out there, so it might make sense to take a job with a big program and a friend and wait for next year when you know there will be openings, and 2. JH and Leavitt are friends and Leavitt has worked for JH in the past.

The Bengals are going to look at Saints DB coach Aaron Glenn, former Atlanta DC Marquand Manuel, and (Michigan ties alert) Rams CB coach Aubrey Pleasant. Dom Capers rejected the Bengals before Grantham did - it seems like other than Grantham they are focusing on NFL guys.

02/14/2019 - 4:30pm Harbaugh was the next person…

Harbaugh was the next person to hire Leavitt after he was dismissed at USF, so either nut up and call our coach a scumbag or move along.

Harbaugh has taken swift and unequivocal action on misdeeds far more mild than criminal battery - I'm of the belief that if Jim thought Leavitt was a bad person who had done something unforgivable, then he wouldn't have hired him in San Francisco.

02/14/2019 - 4:12pm I sense an analyst offer…

I sense an analyst offer coming, even if it's just because Leavitt is Harbaugh's pal and Jim will want to give him a home (but Leavitt has also fielded good units in the past).

Edit: Additionally, Leavitt runs a 3-4, and Nua coached strictly a 30 front last year at ASU. Our personnel might lend itself to an odd front this year, or more odd fronts than past years, this coming season, and Leavitt would be a hell of an analyst to help with that (not that Brown knows nothing of 3-man fronts, but adding another good mind and that value would be great).

02/14/2019 - 10:12am We signed the top 3 MI kids…

We signed the top 3 MI kids in 2018 and top 6 MI kids in 2017. We missed on Brown and Dixon last year, but landed Barnhart and Mazi, who we feel were underrated, and we also thought Dobbs and Barnett were overrated/not great fits.

For 2020 Braeden McGregor and Rashawn Williams are probably our two top targets in the state, and the staff loves Seldon and Martinez too.

Harbaugh's staff doesn't have an issue not recruiting MI kids they don't think are good cultural fits or they think are overrated. He's never going to recruit a kid just because he's from Michigan - he doesn't care about that. They evaluate talent on their own, independent of recruiting sites, and they evaluate families and personalities as well. They land most every MI kid that fits their criteria.

02/14/2019 - 10:00am Seems like Rogers has been…

Seems like Rogers has been on campus once a month for a while now. He clearly is a kid who likes "the process" and likes being courted. I get a bit of a Cassius Winston vibe there.

WR recruiting for 2020 will be interesting. Seems like we're in on a ton of top 250 WRs and the Gattis hire really helped the legitimacy of our chances with a bunch of them (Fleming and Henning for sure).

02/12/2019 - 6:38am He won't get enough carries…

He won't get enough carries to do so with Charbonnet in the fold. ZC will be the clear starter by season's end.

I knew Ricardo in HS and lifted with him a few times after we had both left the team. Good guy. Hope he becomes a sensation.

Stivers - always a great/awful idea. Never a drink order they didn't think "we can double the strength of this, no problem".

All any future representation of a transferring player has to do now is log on to Twitter and check their client's mentions. Immediate eligibility for errrrrbody.

02/08/2019 - 5:02pm The "I want to beat the best…

The "I want to beat the best OSU team every year - I wish they could just take whole Kansas City Chiefs roster and we could play them" crowd is so strange. Just...why? Who cares if they bitch if we beat them? It's like a perverted "oh well, I didn't want that thing I didn't get anyways" denial mentality.

LOL I was drinking to soften the blow of losing that game 6-3...then it turned into happy drinking and drunk, celebratory Popeyes.

Dhani would be in my NFL 100 commercial.

Wait, the gold jacket?

It was silver, not gold?

It was Ed Reed, not Dhani Jones?

How drunk was I last night?

02/04/2019 - 5:02pm Strange that Dhani Jones…

Strange that Dhani Jones makes the commercial, but not Charles. At the same time, it was very cool to see Dhani Jones, looking like he's seen some shit.

02/04/2019 - 2:28pm Michigan's communication…

Michigan's communication appears to have been lacking.

This may be true. The article says his GPA was below a 3.0 - that's not good for a high school athlete. Even kids who have no interest in school do better than that. My feeling is that no matter what a school tells you when you don't get an NLI - scholarship numbers, grades, behavior, etc. - you should start looking, because you know what it means.

02/04/2019 - 1:28pm APH was not given a letter…

APH was not given a letter to sign in December. That's your notice.

Every time something like this happens, everybody wants to pretend that one party (especially if it's the kid) is totally naive, which is ridiculous to me. If 28/29 commits in the class are given letters to sign and you weren't, you know what's going on. If you're a school, and 1 out of 28 commits you send letters to (or want to send letters to) chooses not to sign that day, you know what's going on. I just don't get this whole routine we do about kids being caught off guard. If a school didn't let you sign in December, your position with them is tenuous at best.

If verbal commitments were binding, then I'd say this was unfair practice. However, they are not, and both parties have the ability to walk away from each other at any time. It's a business. That's how it goes.

02/04/2019 - 11:02am Predictable. If you commit…

Predictable. If you commit but don’t sign in December, you are not likely to end up in the class, either by your choice or the school’s. With our pursuit of the Rice DT and tight scholarships, this makes sense.

I was 18 and fresh out of high school. Hardly "seasoned" or close to my skeletal muscle max. It would be close to impossible for me to do now, but as a teenager? Hardly.

All of Sept, Oct, Nov, so yeah, 3, sorry.

01/28/2019 - 8:34pm Of course some was water,…

Of course some was water, but some was water at 205 too. You can’t add muscle without adding water weight, and if you’re making significant strength gains I don’t see the point in delineating between muscle gains and marginal gains in water weight.

As for fat, very little. I probably was not single digit BF, but right around 10 yeah. 11 or 12% maybe? Defined abs without flexing/sucking in/etc which really isn’t possible above 14% or 15%.

Don’t really know why it’s difficult to believe, or why we are now discussing in depth my body composition from years gone by lol.

01/28/2019 - 5:26pm I walked on here. I came in…

I walked on here. I came in at 205 and had to get to 235 to play the position. I weighed 235 (verified by Schembechler Hall scales) by December of my freshman year. I only ate real food and trained, never touched a supplement.

Sorry that your training didn't go as well as mine.

01/28/2019 - 5:17pm Eating enough is by far the…

Eating enough is by far the hardest part of adding muscle, and I love eating food. I put on 60 pounds of muscle over 3 years as a teenager. I would kill a dozen eggs every two days about, would eat the fattiest meats, everything. For a while, until I broke through a sort of ceiling, I was literally eating until it hurt to eat.

01/28/2019 - 4:27pm  You think guys are just…

You think guys are just putting on 15-20 pounds of muscle over spring and summer practices because they are eating healthy?

LOL yes. I put on 30 pounds of muscle in two months freshman year from working out and eating food. I've never even seen physical steroids in person in my life, let alone considered taking them.

Does it mean everybody is adding muscle organically? No. However, suggesting that putting on 15-20 pounds of muscle in a couple months is impossible without supplements shows a severe ignorance of modern strength training and athletic nutrition.
