It's a travesty that Kraft was sentenced to death in '89 and is still alive.

KBA ought to take a look at Ludmila here. She's got a mean crossover, rebounds like Dennis Rodman, and can drive the Stalinets S-65 Magnitogorsk with her eyes closed and never ruin a row of wheat.

Ted Bundy was here, maybe. Too bad he wasn't left for dead in the alley.

GP South is my alma mater, and I'm not sure we've had any recruited players from South since the inception of the school back in 1968, when Grosse Pointe North opened. The only player listed on the UM database from South since then is Mike Kaselitz, and I think he was a walk-on.

No, the ability to edit posts on a blog is a programming leap that's still far, far in the future. Might need AI to help the humans figure it out.

Yep, the Michigan Difference.

Never heard of Brave prior to this post, so I did a cursory googling.

This is a year-old Reddit post so it might be irrelevant today, but for you sick perverts out there:

"the best browser for watching porn - if you watch porn on Mozilla, chrome or IE, you will see infinite popup windows, several trackers and ads, infinite backlinks and scripts that would screw your browser and might inject some virus but Brave blocks almost everything except the main content lol... very smooth experience on Brave."

Even if I was wealthy enough to afford a suite, I would never spend $61K on that. What a ridiculous use of money.

It's from the somewhat lesser-known King James Joseph version, based on a Dead Sea scroll that was discovered in an attic in Unadilla.

2 Corinthians 13:10  And Jesus spake unto the gathered multitudes "Thou shalt kill an oxen and fashion an oblate spheroid from its hide, fillest with thine breath, congregate in yon open field and cheer thy own brothers as they carry thine holy ball across the sacred line. Thou shalt cheer and drink thine wine in celebration after victory, but curse thine team in defeat. Blessed is thine team that drinketh of the forbidden elixir, for they shall grow as giants with bulging sinew, while Caesar looketh in another direction. Thine enemy from the southern heathen lands shalt relieve their bowels in open wine baskets, and darkness shall be on them forever."

"I highly doubt the National Title will be taken away, nor will there be anything else done other than a slap on the wrist"

Maybe so, but Southwest Montana State Teacher's College is going to get hammered by the NCAA for providing an unauthorized Happy Meal to a recruit.

Seems like it was just a game or two ago that a decent chunk of the MGoBlogosphere wanted to run Matthews out of town. How times change.

If Hubbard and the rest of the team didn't have the bad luck timing of having Bobby Knight's legendary 32-0 team in their way, they very probably would have won Michigan's first national championship in basketball.

02/08/2019 - 12:38pm Calling Brady "the greatest…

Calling Brady "the greatest football player of all time" is ridiculous horsecrap.

Best quarterback of all time? If the metric is league championships won, sure. Calling him the best single player in the entire game? Better than all the HOF running backs, receivers, OL, DL, DBs, etc? Bunk.

02/07/2019 - 10:20pm This is like legends jerseys…

This is like legends jerseys. Once you start, where do you stop? I think Woodson deserves a statue every bit as much as Brady does. For that matter, so does Benny Friedman. And Harmon. And Oosterbaan.

A better way to commemorate Brady would be to create some way of recognizing players on the stadium structure facing the field.

02/07/2019 - 4:36am There isn’t another website…

There isn’t another website/blog/social media platform that I visit whose mobile version is as cluttered with interstitial ads as MGoBlog. Reading comments here is rarely worth the effort of having to scroll past an unending dribble of annoying clickbait ads. Virtually every other site I visit on mobile is as dependent on ad revenue as MGoBlog is, and yet none of them is remotely as irritating to visit as this place is from a basic user experience. If we were told it was intended to drive traffic away from MGoBlog, it would make more sense.

02/06/2019 - 11:07am Brady Hoke never had a …

Brady Hoke never had a "loosing record at Bowling Green" because he has never coached there.

02/06/2019 - 11:05am "Ball State was 4-8 when…

"Ball State was 4-8 when Hoke arrived."

Wrong.

Hoke's predecessor was Bill Lynch, and his last 3 seasons at Ball State were:

5-6

5-6

6-6

Hoke went:

4-8

2-9

4-7

5-6

7-6

12-1

I don't bear any animus against Brady Hoke, but the notion that he "rebuilt" a horrible Ball State program has always been complete bunk. He inherited a mediocre program, and even so it took him five years to exceed the win total of his predecessor's final mediocre season. That 12-1 season was the outlier, as was the 2011 season at Michigan.

I can't think of a recent player whose worshipful-bordering-on-sycophantic MGoBlog hype is so out of balance with what he's actually done on the field as Ben Mason.

Should Michigan not recognize Elvis Grbac as a Super Bowl champion? He got in at the very end of the 49ers blowout victory over the Chargers in SB XXIX. One carry, one incomplete pass.

"Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois has been dismissed from the team, coach Willie Taggart announced Sunday.

Taggart said in a statement that he told Francois on Saturday night he is no longer a part of the program.

"As we build a new culture and foundation for FSU football, we have high expectations for all of our student-athletes and we will not shy away from those high standards of conduct," Taggart said in a statement. "We are moving forward as a program."

More of a team thing for me—regardless of how well we play before Ohio State, every time I watch that game we stink it up somehow, year after year. I'm beginning to think it's me.

If the rumors about classroom shortcomings are true, the damage that he’s doing to himself in terms of wasted opportunity far outweighs any damage to the team.

The reason we lost is because some asswipe started a posbang thread before the goddamn game had tipped off.

It was the equivalent of talking about a no-hitter in the sixth inning or a shutout two minutes into the third period.

I didn't even know about the larger logo and had to google it to find out what the deal was. I prefer the smaller size, but I've seen much worse than the larger version.

But while I was at the Freep I came across this horrible story about Joe Murphy. I had no idea that this had happened to him. Just awful and tragic.

01/29/2019 - 1:01pm There's a glaring absence in…

There's a glaring absence in the category of smallest interior DL.

The MG on Bo's first team in 1969 was junior Henry Hill, who is listed on the UM database as being 5'-11'/224. His soph height is listed as 5'-10".

01/29/2019 - 12:53pm In the early '80s a friend…

In the early '80s a friend said she was at a party on campus and met QB Steve Smith. She was no taller than 5'-10" and she insisted she looked Smith straight in the eye without having to adjust her gaze upward.

Whether or not her account reflected physical reality, the UM roster database lists Smith's 1980 freshman height as 6'-2". He must have taken a pounding in practice because it lists his sophomore height as 6'-0".

I also saw Tate Forcier from about 2 ft away during his freshman season and he didn't look any taller than 5'-9" to me. However, I was sitting down at the Grizzly Peak with my second pint when he walked past so my perceptions of height might have been skewed a bit.

01/28/2019 - 10:56am If you want to get rid of…

If you want to get rid of the "unnecessary violence" in college and pro football, then the easiest and fastest way to do it is to go back to these:

old helmet.jpg

You'd see a rapid reduction in players leading with their heads and an overall reduction in the "big hits" and a corresponding increase in old-school tackling: grabbing the guy with the ball around the legs or lower body and dragging him down.

Football will always be a collision sport and violence is inherent in that, but it doesn't have to be played the way it is today.
