You're bitching that a true freshman isn't yet performing at Calvin Johnson's level?

He drew me in with the provocative title. That and the substance of the post, makes me suspect this is parody.

If it's an official visit I would agree. Otherwise, going from Oak Park to Ann Arbor doesn't require a lot of effort or planning. Casual interest and curiosity about how the program may have changed under Warner would be enough to justify the time he'll spend.

Strange to see Ryan Mundy on the list at DB and no Don Dufek there.

Upvoted 10 times so there must be something to this comment, but it beats the hell out of me what it is. Northwood Institute? Nickel?

Edit: Thanks, Ni.

If Chase Winovich taught us nothing else he taught us that guys can't maintain their production as their usage increases.

Wilson averaged 6 yards per carry. You believe MAC starting RBs could do that? You should stop taking such pride in "being realistic."

I think that a team that negotiated a contract with a player is responsible for meeting the requirements of the contract. The specific terms of a trade might then shift part of the obligation to the new team (although the original team would still have to guarantee the obligation is met). I don't think any of the teams a player is traded to have any obligation until they negotiate a contract with the player.

That's how it should work under general rules of contract law. The contract between the NBA and the players' association could create different obligations.

I'm surprised it took so long for someone to note the flawed composition of the list. Ruke Orhorhoro at #9 and no Barnhart makes for a questionable list. In 3 or 4 years we'll know whether Jones, Rumler, Keegan and Barnhart were bigger wins than Brown and Dobbs.

I'm grateful that we're past the point where an MSU commit said M is selling tradition, MSU is selling results.

He started for UM in 5 games in 2017. I don't think he'll have trouble finding schools that will welcome him. The question will be whether he wants to continue with football at those schools.

Barring injury, I don't think Hinton will be in the two-deep. Jeter and Smith should rotate at NT, with Kemp and Dwumfour rotating at the other DT. I'm guessing Hinton will see the same kind of usage Hutchinson saw last season.

According to Seth's front page coverage you are correct. As you note, that goes a long way to understanding this. However, it doesn't detract from my contention that this isn't "the opportunity of a lifetime."

"the opportunity of your lifetime"

You are literally saying that coaching at OSU is better than coaching at Michigan. This is especially odd if the statements that he will be a co-DC are correct. He was DC at Michigan under Hoke. The culture at your employer is also important. I don't think the OSU AD conducts itself with the same integrity as Michigan's does. People who say "it's all about the Benjamins" must have been incredibly fortunate to have never worked for a bad boss.

It's not a charade. It's covering your bases. Most of them won't make it because of a lack of talent others will be injured. If the NFL doesn't work out it's valuable to have a good education and a diploma from a respected school.

Prior to this year playing in a single game cost you your redshirt (although not necessarily a chance at a medical redshirt).

I agree that Peters is the only guy this applies to, but I think it's wrong to call him a miss. He was a victim of last year's OL but was Patterson's backup coming out of fall camp. Bad luck for him, he was injured just when he would have gotten the playing time that McCaffrey took. I think everyone, including Harbaugh, expects Peters to transfer, which explains Milton's playing time at Peters' expense. Things haven't worked out for him but Peters has good ability and will probably excel if he does transfer.

Really? Whatever his flaws may be, I have never questioned WD's love of UM. JPC is an obvious troll and a dick who constantly spews shit.

I also don't remember MK saying a lot of negative things about UM.

I look forward to seeing what Harbaugh will do with a decent OL and a healthy second year starter at QB. Hopefully it will include making better use of the incredible WRs on the team.

Odd that you should pick 1947 as your reference. That was the year of the "Mad Magicians." It was literally one of the most innovative offensive teams of all time. They were undefeated and beat USC 49-0 in the Rose Bowl. Oh, and they were national champions.
