07/14/2018 - 2:13pm But... But... But…

But... But... But... Michigan Stadium couldn't get loud until they added the new press boxes and hired Special K!

Seriously, though. That game was nuts. I was on the field. All of my friends in the student section bailed early from a combination of halloween costumes, early dark and cold, and the third quarter looking how it did. Their loss.

07/12/2018 - 8:52pm And it took him not wanting…

And it took him not wanting to own up and just fire Amaker already to get there. Silver linings.

07/11/2018 - 11:06pm Who is this OP that they're…

Who is this OP that they're just telling us all what to do as if they've been here all along?

Oh, wait, now I get it.

Should be a 103% discount for MDen killing Moe's.

07/04/2018 - 9:32pm Do explain how someone not…

Do explain how someone not liking literal explosives going off outside their windows for hours has anything to do with communism.

07/04/2018 - 9:31pm Sounds like Full Metal…

Sounds like Full Metal Jacket outside right now. Really wish this wasn't a thing.

07/04/2018 - 2:14pm I remember the transition…

I remember the transition and going back and forth for a couple days about whether or not I wanted to register. I did. Spent that summer at work in the UM libraries posting ambivalently about Rich Rodriguez. Feels like 30 years ago.

Got an NES Classic, sat in the basement playing Super Mario Bros. for two hours after baking my face off at a parade. Feels like 1990 all over again.

Seems to me if it were political content that met your exacting specifications, you wouldn't care.

I for one appreciate Brian's insight on this stuff. I may not always agree (we've butted heads on the train station issue--he remains pretty off base there, but he's not uninformed), but it's a sign of the difference between MGoBlog and, say, the RCMB. He's not retweeting HuffPo articles or something, and instead provides reasoned insight in complete sentences. Don't like it? Don't read it.

We've got some serious hair game with this group. Flow on flow on flow.

I'm not as concerned about the app as I am that the normal site is, well, at least nominally functional. It isn't. Cool that content is easier to post for Brian and company, but how useful is that when the presentation on the user end is counterintuitive, if not an impediment to use?

06/26/2018 - 6:07pm So which previously banned…

So which previously banned user was MichiganFan1984?

06/25/2018 - 6:52pm Welp, results matter.

Welp, results matter.

Haloscan is dead. Long live Haloscan.

Seriously, MGoBlog 1.0 was awesome.

I wonder if Harbaugh would also invite all of the Michigan basketball players who never got to play for a postseason bid because of the sanctions he helped bring on their program, for which Webber has never shown any remorse whatsoever.

And I'll leave it at that.

Well this should be fun to watch unfold into certain internet chaos.

The Beer Depot is still there. It just isn't drive-through anymore.

And this is why you don't get it.

06/21/2018 - 1:10pm WD on the day the buyout was…

WD on the day the buyout was announced: "The best in the business is now the undisputed champion. Great stuff."

Yep, they sure are. Buy the competition, bleed out the competition, close the competition, then go straight to the mall. SMDH.

06/21/2018 - 1:08pm Well, that's what MDen kind…

Well, that's what MDen kind of did, they rebranded as "Moe's by the MDen." But then MDen put nothing on the shelves and turned what used to be one of the finest UM apparel shops in town into a ghost. Last few times I was in there, it was noticeable how little there was to choose from. It looked empty, it felt empty, and decidedly un-Moe's. It was sad.

MDen ran out the clock on an Ann Arbor icon. Not surprising they want to double down on being the Michigan store at the mall instead of nurturing what makes Treetown special. And not surprising that those who don't get why that's a big deal are the same folks praising every little thing MDen does.

06/21/2018 - 11:52am The Victors Collection…

The Victors Collection should be Moe's, really. That's the niche Moe's always held.

06/21/2018 - 11:31am Felt like this was coming as…

Felt like this was coming as soon as MDen stepped in the picture. An absolute shame.

They go hand in hand? Or did everything before 2010 not happen?

06/20/2018 - 8:54pm Meet MGoBlog 3.0.

Meet MGoBlog 3.0.

06/20/2018 - 8:13pm OSU fans rather notoriously…

OSU fans rather notoriously bought up tons of the single-game tickets back then (there were a lot of them, and I don't think they'd started pairing them with lesser games for ND/OSU/MSU yet). The AD was holding on to a lot of non-renewed season tickets knowing the renovations and ADA seating installation shifts were coming, as they planned to shift around tickets to make up for lost seating. Ergo, many, many seats were being sold as single games. During those years, our seats were surrounded by tons of random one-off people. Including that OSU game--I know because we got some drunk and confrontational OSU meatheads booted before the end of the first quarter.

But, really, why should the RichRod years be used as a baseline for normal Michigan Football trends?

100% support. Hated this since the second the schedule changed. Bad for students, bad for anyone who travels for the holidays.

Cowherd on Cowherd:

"Actually, I've never considered myself a journalist. I just consider myself a performer."

i.e., he's not doing anything of substance--he's just trying to get a reaction. Pretty much find him to be a hack.

Are you forgetting that DUI that Jalen picked up shortly before the Fab Five documentary came out, which he then got the press to sit on until about two weeks after the film aired? He ended up spending time in jail...

Good for him. These guys played nearly 30 years ago, and they still can't help putting themselves in the spotlight. Enough already.

Reason to redesign the right-side interface to increase the number of linked MGoThreads: When Magnus starts a pile of threads about scholarship offers, that's all your going to see for a while.

Don't like the font. Hate that they've used it for the numbers, too.

What's the industry term for lettering like that? It's a halo, right? Seems worth a try.

Look at the bar at the top of your screen. See how the A in About looks like a staircase? The V in the M? The inside of the Os and the slopes of the Ks? Maybe I'm just OCD, but it drives me nuts.

06/16/2018 - 10:13am Well, we'll see if this…

Well, we'll see if this interface can even handle the flood of content that comes during football season. It seems to me it takes up too much space and displays too little information to keep up with much more than the current trickle.

06/16/2018 - 10:11am I don't know about apathy,…

I don't know about apathy, but the redesign has been a pretty significant obstacle for me reading and interacting with most board content. Doesn't make any sense to me, isn't intuitive in any way, so I just skip it.

MGoBlog needed a redesign. This, however, was not it. Reboot please.

Wish they'd gone with the old font.

One of my very favorite places on earth. My grandpa taught me to fish on the dock directly behind Carlson's. So glad Fishtown seems to be on the rebound after a few dicey years.

The way the ball moves around the arc, inside, then back out on that last gif is damned beautiful.

Kalamazoo? What a joke. Flint I get. Detroit, less so if we're talking 2018 and not 1988. But Kzoo?

Oh, the old and tired "you can't do anything with a history major" hot take. Great contribution.

06/13/2018 - 1:36pm All I know is all of this…

All I know is all of this blank space, large fonts, 50ppp (which I can't seem to permanently change no matter what I do with the pulldown list), and limited display of threads on the sidebar is going to crumble with the amount and speed of content on a football Saturday.

The old design, for whatever "old internet is worse" faults it may have had, could at least display a lot of information, quickly and easily accessed, when things got busy.
