So...really soft Nerf balls with harmless LED lights inside were or were not tossed in the general direction of some OSU fans?  Maybe?  How awful.

LSA, I just saw the story about the fire at the Consumers natural gas facility, and how they are asking people to cut down on usage today. I think you are a DTE guy like my little brother-any update on this that you know of?  I am NOT turning down the thermostat tonight of all nights.

I worry about the fact that Faux Mo HAS kids.  That cannot be anything approximating a normal upbringing...my 18 pound Maine Coon Cat has barely left my lap in 48 hours, and I have the house set to 68 degrees when it is usually 64.  Pipes, etc.

Drew Henson would have won 10 Super Bowls by now!  (Too soon?)

01/17/2019 - 9:49am Jordan Poole reminds me of a…

Jordan Poole reminds me of a less-knuckleheaded Sean Higgins from those late 80's teams.  One moment, he would look like a combination of MJ and Clyde Drexler rolled into one.  The next, he would look like some random guy pulled out of the stands who had never seen a basketball game before.

Still one of the great calls of the '89 tournament.  Semifinals, I think, late in the game, really close.  He was dribbling around outside the three point line, and had almost turned it over a couple times while doing so.  Bill Raftery said "Higgins is getting a little loose with the ball out there"...at which point Higgins gathered the basketball, took two dribbles and three steps, blew by his defender, then rose up and jammed it over everyone for one of the biggest baskets of the game.

Poole isn't as physically gifted as Higgins was, and he's not AS erratic.  But it's the nearest comparison I can make.

01/09/2019 - 11:24am No, we didn't make too much…

No, we didn't make too much of it.  It was 3 hours plus of pain, frustration, humiliation, and general suckitude.  All of it was made worse by the knowledge that we not only lost The Game in horrific fashion, we lost a chance at a Big Ten championship and playoff berth-though I have no doubt we would have gotten smoked in that game.  Any attempt to spin it so it doesn't seem so bad is doomed to failure in my mind.

Why would a talking baby hell-bent on killing his mother need a non-compete?  Who would really WANT that?  Jeez, I expected better thinking out of my MGo brethren.

01/01/2019 - 11:29am Got to "Unrealistic…

Got to "Unrealistic expectations" and gave the rest of your post a hard pass.  Look, I love Harbaugh-I was in school when he was and have great memories of those games in the student section.

However...I think given his past successes at many levels, it was absolutely realistic to expect more than what we've gotten over the past four seasons.  Not every season, but certainly a couple of them.

2015 was a huge success in my eyes because he had to turn the program around.  No issue with a freakish MSU loss and getting blown out by a really good OSU team.

2017 was disappointing, but losing so many starters and having massive QB issues mitigates that somewhat for me.

2016 we should have been in the playoff.  We had stars everywhere, a functional but not great QB, and an OSU team that was young and somewhat down.  The spot shouldn't have mattered, we pissed away chance after chance to put the game away, not to mention whatever THAT was in Iowa two weeks earlier.  Now, we would have gotten Notre Dame'd in the CFP, but that's beside the point.

2018...no excuse for the last two games.  You have to do a better job of preparing your team-and that offense was tough to watch.

I don't even think the archaic offense is the problem, it is more there is no creativity within it.  Florida had so many cool little tweaks to plays that had our defense off balance, while we had none of that.  And the thing that sucks is we USED to do those things-who remembers The Train?  Makes me wonder if Jedd was behind all that.

I would wait and see the financial package she gets from Princeton if she gets in.  You might be surprised how competitive they will be with UM.  Maybe white female Engineering students are a priority for them this year.  Sounds like all things being equal she would prefer it there.  Tough decision, best of luck to her.  Neither option is a bad one, though!                                                                                      You might want to talk to her HS counselor-sometimes they will give us more information than they will give you.  (Does legitimately on their radar mean 25 percent chance or 75 percent chance?  If she did get in, what would an average aid package look like?)

I also went, first game in several years.  It was definitely quiet, but think it was a combo of lackluster play, finals week, and a blah game.  Don't judge by this experience alone, Crisler can rock pretty hard during a bigger game.

My head is spinning.  Ian McCaw, who looked the other way as Baylor athletes serially assaulted women, is the AD.  Hugh Freese, who frequented prostitutes-and attacked recruiting with a $$$ creativity $$$ unknown  since SMU in the pre-death penalty days-is the coach. $$$ What's next?

Rick Pitino, new Liberty hoops coach?  At least he shared the prostitutes with his players.  Do unto others, and all of that.  Craig James as special advisor to Coach Freese?  Can Freese call the prostitutes faster than James can kill them?  *Allegedly*

I've had pretty good success predicting wet farts, especially as I get older.  Too much beer the night before combined with late night Taco Bell usually does the trick.  Or gas station sushi.

I only tune in for the start of Sportscenter to hear the music.  I blindfold myself so I don't see the picture.  Also, I refuse to say any words with E, S, P, or N in them.  It's challenging, but is the best way I know to express my contempt for the network.

12/04/2018 - 9:00am There is a big difference…

There is a big difference between being a successful coordinator and being a head coach.  Not everyone makes the transition well.  He'll still be a great offensive mind, but will he be able to multitask and delegate as head coaches must? Let's hope not-I wouldn't mind a decade or so of beating their ass on a regular basis.

I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think it works that way.  He could "Retire" or resign any time.  OSU could probably prohibit him from working anywhere else until his contract expires if they wanted to, and of course he wouldn't get paid.  I would guess they would come to a mutual agreement in that case-or possibly already have.

On a side note, I would be thrilled to see him leave.  He's a crap human being, but a great college football coach.

I will never love Chris Webber, but I cheered him as loudly as anyone when he came out on that field.  It has been 25 years, probably time for me to let it go.  And I do respect what he accomplished during and after his time at Michigan.  It would take an apology for me to completely forgive him, but I have come to realize that isn't going to happen, and I am OK with that.

I am sure Chris is VERY concerned what I think!  :)

There are already several different helmet sensor systems that measure impacts to the head.  Our HS team uses them in practice as part of an ongoing study.  In the spirit of John Beilein and reconciliation, here's a story about one system that was developed at MSU last year.

Could you guys stop arguing about who was right and parsing her post to see if she was or wasn't being critical of the coaches?  (FWIW, I took it as a factual statement on her part, not a criticism.)

The only news that matters is-If and when Rashan gets healthy, he'll be back on the field!  That is huge!  His healthy presence makes takes our defense from great to unbelievable, and we're going to need unbelievable if we end up in the CFP, and even before that in Columbus.  Go Blue!
