He hit him with the dreaded three play suspension....that's what happens when you cross the Dean of Discipline.

I thought the video as a whole was just ok, but Cromartie hitting on the guy's wife absolutely killed me.

That's why.  POW!

That's why.  POW!

Weren't there rumors of

Weren't there rumors of attempted defections from the men's team in South Africa?  I remember because they hung in there pretty well in their first game against Brazil and then I think the defection rumors came after that game.  Considering the way the rest of their games went I'm inclined to believe something was going on there.

The uniforms leaked earlier

The uniforms leaked earlier were slightly different.  They did not have the small numbers on the front of the jersey, which was probably done to comply with NCAA regulations.  At the time the first uniforms leaked Dave Brandon probably didn't know yet whether the NCAA would allow them to do the block 'M' on the front at all.  Not to mention he obviously wasn't going to screw up the planned unveiling by saying "oh yeah, that's them" like a certain coach we know.

So let's just dial back the "flat out lied" stuff a little bit eh?  At least in regards to our Athletic Director...

I just hope it's a

I just hope it's a well-played game without any of the "theatrics" that made the Barca-Real series practically unwatchable.  The key to the game might be Man U (especially Rooney) keeping their cool if Barca does start diving.

I feel like such an idiot for

I feel like such an idiot for ever complaining about LeSeur....I would've chopped my right arm off to have had him in our secondary either of the last two years.

Luckily for the players no

Luckily for the players no "general knowledge" questions were asked before the money was handed out....

Well at least in this case at

Well at least in this case at least we can be sure it isn't helping them in recruiting....

Bruce Pearl: "I was lying to

Bruce Pearl: "I was lying to NCAA investigators before it went mainstream.  Now even Tressel is doing it!"

one that hasn't been mentioned yet:

The 2004-2005 team was really good, at least offensively.  They were crazy inconsistent all year but went into the tournament hot and absolutely smashed Wisconsin in the first round.  In the 2nd round against Colorado College (who I think might have been the #1 overall seed) they got up 3-0 right out of the gate and things could not have looked better.  Unfortunately as was typical for mid-to-late-00's teams defensive lapses and shaky goaltending doomed them and they ended up blowing the game.

In terms of having pure talent at forward that team was really loaded.  Tambellini, Hensick, Nystrom, younger versions of Porter and Kolarik.  Even the 3/4 line types on that team like Moss and Ebbett are NHL contributors now.

How many teams has Juwan

How many teams has Juwan played for in his career?  It's got to be close to double-digits at this point.

Question for the students on

Question for the students on the board from an old fart: Did the student ticket allotment not sell out this year?  I've always thought they should expand the student section for basketball, it  seems like we have much fewer students at the game than comparable schools.  Maybe they're trying to and people aren't buying?

Looks like CBS is switching.

Looks like CBS is switching.  Here we go

Hey guys.....

Hey guys.....

That was a fascinating game

That was a fascinating game to watch, in a car crash sort of way.  Watching both teams trade mental breakdowns and "deer in the headlights" looks was very entertaining.

Let's hope MSU doesn't figure out that Payne should be playing a lot more minutes before they play us.

It is pretty frustrating that

It is pretty frustrating that teams like Clemson (6-5 record in a worse conference, RPI in the 70's, and we beat them on their home floor) are included and we aren't, but whatever.  The committee certainly isn't going to forget about us if we deserve to be in.

I was a big fan of the sign

I was a big fan of the sign in the student section tonight that had Doyle's head, a stop sign and a butterfly on it.  Well played, whoever that was.

Alabama would count it.

Alabama would count it.

Didn't the Vikings try

Didn't the Vikings try something similar with their field this year??

Whoa full-court  press.

Whoa full-court  press.  Don't see that very often.  Wisconsin looked pretty surprised too!

Honestly I would've taken

Honestly I would've taken being only 6 down with 7 minutes to play.  We're still in this.

Have you seen Purdue's?  At

Have you seen Purdue's?  At least Wisconsin's includes some girls.

A brutal charge call....a

A brutal charge call....a sudden barrage of Wisconsin 3's....this is starting to remind me of every other game in the Kohl Center

I've said it before and I'll

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  Is there anything dumber than the "airball" chant??

Especially when they're still chanting it at a guy like 15 minutes after he shot it?

If you can watch your team's

If you can watch your team's game and root for them to lose, for any reason at all, it's time to pick another team.

The SEC is staring down 0-3

The SEC is staring down 0-3 at the moment.  Might make the pre-game shows a little more bearable tomorrow if this result holds up!

The announcer just pointed

The announcer just pointed out that El Paso is a great place for a shoot-out.  Indeed.

Can you imagine being a

Can you imagine being a K-State fan watching this game and seeing the Tennessee guys do a salute after every frickin play??  I think I would've smashed the tv by the 4th quarter

+1 for Moose Drool, great

+1 for Moose Drool, great stuff.

Haha Robert Smith is soooo

Haha Robert Smith is soooo pissed about the OSU suspensions.  I think his head is going to literally explode if he keeps going!

Well right away from the

Well right away from the first post I can tell this blog is going to be a must-read.  A Big 10 power poll...how creative!  Forget the other 10 websites where I can find the exact same thing, I'm going here first!  The author's biting sense of humor will certainly be entertaining as well.  Can you imagine how much it burned Iowa fans when he told them to "stick to football"?  Ouch!  The deep thorough analysis he does will also really enhance my knowledge of Big 10 basketball; for instance I learned that Michigan, Indiana and Penn State will all make the NIT, which will give the Big 10 two teams in that tournament.  So informative!  Sure the post is littered with misspellings and grammatical errors, but I mean it was his first post so I'll cut the guy some slack.  I'm sure all the time he spent on research made it impossible to do any editing.  All in all, this blog looks like a sure-fire winner in my book!

Isn't it funny how when the

Isn't it funny how when the Lions play a team without a huge national fanbase they suddenly don't have a big penalty problem anymore??  Just a coincidence I'm sure.

Anyone else wonder if the Lions would still be leading the league in penalties if they weren't playing in a division with the Packers, the Bears and Brett Favre?

A couple I'd like to see

A couple I'd like to see before I die but probably won't:

-A meaningful Big 10 game at Crisler where the place is packed with our fans.

-Another NCAA Regional at Yost.  The last few were the best fan experiences I've ever had, hands down.

-A D-IA (or whatever the new name is) college football play-off game.

-Been mentioned many times before, but a Lions Super Bowl

-World Cup Final featuring the US.

Desmond is definitely a

Desmond is definitely a first-teamer on the Reggie Cleveland All-Stars

Why do you even watch

Why do you even watch sports?  Isn't the reason we watch to feel good when our team wins?  Sure they still suck, we all know that.  But my god man, the Lions just beat the Packers with Drew Stanton at qb, Maurice Morris at running back, and I think a hot dog vendor at cornerback..

You really aren't capable of enjoying this win for 5 minutes??

There is a 110% chance that

There is a 110% chance that had the roles been reversed the Lions would've gotten a pass interference and a roughing the passer on that 2nd down play.

Although this game has been pretty well-officiated, there's always a few plays that show the calls just don't go both ways for the Lions.

Yeah I knew the golden goal

Yeah I knew the golden goal part but do they go to a shoot-out at some point??

Actual question: what's the

Actual question: what's the over-time format for NCAA soccer?

Wait.....nevermind.

Wisconsin getting 3 points

Wisconsin getting 3 points against TCU is free money.  Absolutely shocked by that line.

It's the circle of life

I actually think I'd rather see Clay than the other two.  It's the life-cycle of Wisconsin running backs, the younger, quicker back-ups always seems more dangerous than the huge, hyped starter  Back in '08 for instance I was much more worried about Clay than PJ Hill.  Now the circle is complete and Clay is the heavily-hyped Heisman candidate.... and other team's fans are secretly hoping he is healthy enough to take the majority of the carries again them.

Congratulations to James

Congratulations to James Rogers, really nice to see him have his "Sheridan against Minnesota" moment today as a senior.

Wisconsin looked dangerous on

Wisconsin looked dangerous on those corners.  Gotta make sure we don't give up cheap set pieces in our end.

I heard somewhere that Duke

I heard somewhere that Duke has also gone to great lengths to keep students who have been drinking out of basketball games.  As a result the once-legendary Cameron crowd is now a bit of a joke.  Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

I don't think it was

I don't think it was particularly unfair, and definitely a little depressing to hear that their offense still is averaging more points than we are.

However that being said the guy is a terrible writer.  Would it kill him to run a grammar check?

Things to remember for

Things to remember for Saturday:

-Snake oil

-Danny Hope confronting Rodriguez after last year's game

-Danny Hope's comments about Michigan during Big 10 media days

-Hook-and-ladder

-Onside Kick

-Even Carr hated Tiller

-Purdue basketball fans turning into a lynch mob and egging the refs into ejecting Manny Harris

-Chris Kramer

-Brian Cardinal

I could go on all day.  Without a doubt this is the athletic department, coaches, and school that I have the least respect for in the Big 10.  I hope we hang 50+ on those clowns.

"If this is Judgement Day,

"If this is Judgement Day, the judge has just thrown Penn State in jail!"

I'm taking the over in that

I'm taking the over in that one...Bye is definitely going to rack up some passing yards

...and people wonder why

...and people wonder why nobody reads newspapers anymore....

35-33 UM, the difference is

35-33 UM, the difference is scoring the red zone.  We force just enough FG's to outweigh the fact that they get more defensive stops in total.
