I'm 36 and a dude. I watch every game. I've been married five uears, but we've been together for 10 years. She knew what she was getting into...when it got serious we actually talked about compromising on how much Michigan sports I watch. She, fairly I might add, said I could pick one season where our schedule could revolve around games. I of course picked football (over basketball and MLB). Its worked for us.
This has been, and I think will be, very interesting to follow. I don't know nearly enough about technology to form an intellegent opinion, but the legal precedent set by the decision could be very influencial in future privacy vs security matters.
I know that nobody will even see this since it'll be on page 427, but had to get in. This was possibly the most ballsy and brutally honest post I've seen on MGoBlog. Nice work, Brian!
We already know the results when we get a good recruits and poor player development. I'd spring for a step back in recruiting for better player development.
I think we will drop 1 non-conference (looking at Utah), lose to MSU and OSU and one more infuriating game that we should win. That hurts, but I think it's realistic.
This is, of course, assuming they both win this weekend. With the round robin format of the new Big 12, head-to-head is king. While TCU may actually be the better team, with the same record, Baylor has to be the Big 12 champs. If leagues/committees start making subjective decisions based on feelings ball, there isn't why take anything into consideration except how you feel about a team?
Was just in New Orleans this week do work and watch football there on Saturday and Sunday. good crowds, tons of beer on tap, good food and lots of TVs. Its on Royal, just off Canal - the Wyndham French Quarter.
Glad he's taking a back seat to this, as he should. However, I find it imeasurably frustrating that wins and losses STILL comes up when talking about DB. There are so many other issues with how the athletic department is run and poor dicission making that even if we were having a good year in football DB's job would still be in question. Writing the book on how not to handle public relations, making decisions without input from key stakeholders (i.e. students and season ticket holders), and greatlyexpanding the athlic department's staff almost inexplicably all stand as department wide issues.
Is there any evidence that Wellman is ignoring these principles? Unless you have insite on training programs for players, which you very well may, I don't think there is any way to pin this on S&C. Football is a violent sport and injuries will happen. Hypertrophy can be attained while maintaining flexibility and players can still utilize preventative measures, like foam roling, and they could still take a hit to the knee and be out. Just saying...
You'd think Hoke would run out, but they just keep coming. Not sure how I feel about Peppers. If he ends up playing it would be valuable game experience for him and, if he meets his hype level, he won't be here to see that 5th year. But, if it turns out he needs the rest to heal and takes the red shirt he still proabably wouldn't stay for 5 years. Tough call. Normally I'd say I trust the coaching staff to make the right call, but...yeah.
I'm going to make the head-in-the-sand and hopeful assumption that the "hahaha" was int he vein of "of course this would happen to the team now" as opposed to "haha - he's hurt". In any case, this sucks.
Over Hoke's tenure, this football program has stedily regressed. He had a year one outlier and quickly has regressed to his mean. He can't beat any team with a pulse, continues to underdevelop top level tallent and is too stuborn to change old habits (punting, etc.). So, not only does he find himself in a questionable situation stemming from what seems to be gross negligence, he is failling to meet what seem to be his job requirements. This is not a witch hunt, this is the last staw.
I'm really not qualified to get into the X's and O's here, but I believe the hurry up refers to no-huddle. If this is the case, the line should be able to line up and make their checks without wasting 20 seconds in a huddle. If anything, this would give the line even more time to see the defense.

Great to hear Ace!
Pretty sure it is. So awesome.
I hear what you're saying, but Hoke never approached the success that JB has had with basketball.
Gave me the chills
Tangential at best, but great work being done by a good friend.

out loud, in my cube. Good one.
We sure didn't like the "rules are rules" argument on Mitch McGary. This may be a little over the top...
Did we do it right?

I love that they are researching best practices for most success for special teams. Still feels weird to have competent coaching.

I wish they would bring in qualified candidates for such roles at M.

I wish I the balls to put this on a business card to hand to people.
I have an LG and like it. It's the low end of the high end LEDs - very good value.
Student ticket sales, sales being the key word. Sounds like they've bounced back from a few off years.
Amazing.
Not only that, but a lot of these guys are eating upwards of 5000 kcal/day. That is much more the your typical 3 square meals and snack...
Half ton van with no windows.
She was a gritty volleyball player who was very nice off the court. Loved watching her and the teams of the early aughts play.
I love burgers, but hate this list. It's hard enought to agree on the best burger in any large city. Best in the state is just insanity!
OP wins all of the upvotes.
That is all.

I thought he zinged himself good enough. Anyway, I said the clip was *almost* good enough to listen to.
"It just kind of pisses you off a bit, becuase you're like really, really, you guys are gong to deflate the balls AND you're gonna beat us like that."
The inflection is everyting, you see.

It'll be interesting to see Derrick Green, De'veon Smith and Ty Issac all compete. Who knows, with good coaching we might be stacked!
I feel like he'll be able to buy multiple iPads or whatever tablet he desires with that paycheck he'll be receiving. This is dumb.
How much time does M alot for academics during official visits, or any other B1G program for that matter?
BOOM!
Amazing.
The correct thing to say is irregardlessly
Amen!
Don't let the door hit you, DB! Find another program to support and maybe START drinking.
This made my day

Pre-season polls are just that, pre-seson. I think polls are basically opinion peices until we get into conference play...
