Watch your step while you’re at the Big House kiddo, you might trip over Petit-Frere…seeing how his ass is still planted at the 30 yard line courtesy of #97.

Sorry Chuck, I didn’t mean…

Sorry Chuck, I didn’t mean grow in population. I meant grow as in sprouting into a new life.

I get it. Flint made…

I get it. Flint made headlines for years as being a dangerous place, a baron wasteland after GM left, then with the water crises bringing Flint back into the headlines. To those who are looking from the outside-in… I implore you to actually visit downtown before passing judgment on the city.

The city is ripe with opportunity… and that’s why Mott is literally buying everything up for pennies.

Beside UM there is also Kettering and Mott Community college. These three schools have been pivotal is the city rebounding. As the city continues to grow in the right direction you can see the city becoming more connected, with far less dilapidation between because of these schools. Not to mention Powers Catholic investing back into the city with its new campus near the Michigan School for the Deaf.

It has been wonderful watching the city’s rebirth. As Michiganders, Alumni, fans or residents of the city we should all be rooting for The University of Michigan to continue to invest into all of their campuses.

Some of you haven’t been to…

Some of you haven’t been to downtown Flint… where the University resides, and it shows. I grew up in Flint Township. I Lived in apartments downtown during undergrad. I still use the rec center there  every day. So I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in and around the city. The years downtown during undergrad were awesome. Great restaurants and bar scene. Student life thrives downtown.

Most of the negativity is coming from people who have never spent time in the city. The downtown area has become a hot bed for restaurants and bars. The days of “Scary Flint” post GM exodus are in the rear view mirror. Of course there are still parts of Flint that aren’t great. Mostly the north side and Burton to the east. Get downtown and go to Tenacity Brewing, Sauce (located in the new Hilton across the street from UM), Churchills for some of the best cocktails and hard to find whiskey. Genesee Health Systems just built a beautiful building (first build of an entire new complex) that will continue to hire graduates from UM-F. Many people who work downtown live in new construction or renovated flats and apartments near campus/ Saginaw Street.

Besides, The Mott Foundation… who practically owns the City and obviously has a vested interest in the university Would not let them walk away from UM-Flint easily.

Someone noted the expansion to the science wing. I took a tour through there with a former professor and it looks brilliant. The new cadaver labs especially. As for The expansion to the student  housing, it was much needed… even in the last few years they haven’t been able to handle all applicants.

On the note of downsizing or doing away with some liberal arts programs. This breaks my heart to hear. All though just rumors at this point, I will be voicing my concerns and bringing these rumors up with Latinx Technology and Community Center, Mott Foundation, Flint City Council and Crim Fitness Foundation.

The University plays a pivotal role in the community. Students rely on this regional school for many reasons. I would expect a public university of Michigan’s caliber to understand the importance they play in this community.

I didn’t know hard copy of the tickets was an option. It says digital delivery, so I’ll keep an eye out for them a couple weeks before the games! Thanks buddy!

Thank you! Besides the obvious Joy from getting the W over OSU my favorite memory from that day was finding out he had printed the lyrics to Mr Brightside so he could learn the song before we went to the game.

Just such an awesome day spent with my best bud.

Thank you! I’m pretty excited, marrying my best friend/high school crush, and my grandfather is my best man! Couldn’t be happier!

That’s what I’m planning on doing. But I’m not sure how to do that with digitally delivered tickets. I tried the tab that says sell of StubHub on the Michigan ticket website but says I don’t have tickets to sell.

I hear that type of point…

I hear that type of point differential gets you W and can clear the path for a Big Ten Championship

Born and raised Wolverine,…

Born and raised Wolverine, completed my undergrad at UofM. Current Jayhawk, working on my masters. I hated Kansas as a basketball school… it seemed like they always got great talent and went deep into March. Now I’m rooting for them.

I would've loved to have seen them beaten by Michigan in the Elite Eight though! But alas, here we are. So for now it’s Rock Chalk, Jayhawk…. Whatever the F that means😂

That’s always a good one. I…

That’s always a good one. I just let my Michigan arrogance fly high and let them know I actually graduated from the school I rep?

The student section was…

The student section was electric! Spotted the best student section sign of the season.. when Edey went out with foul trouble someone held up the white board “Where’d the big guy go??”

Aside from the butthurt Purdue fans that sat behind us and whined about every call and no call, screaming (with intermittent voice cracking) that “player x” was a bitch every single play.

Bacon Bitch for chicken…

Bacon Bitch for chicken sandwiches or breakfast sandwiches.

B Bistro + bakery for the best French toast I’ve ever had in my life.

I know you said you aren’t looking for anything too fancy but Komodo is great for Asian cuisine.

Bonus: Casa Tua for an over the top palate experience. This is my go to for anyone looking for anniversary/celebratory dinners. Took my fiancé here after proposing to her. Quite literally the chef’s kiss.

Bonus bonus: Giannis (aka Versace mansion) okay food for the price, it’s really about the ambiance and honestly the best service I’ve ever had.

Wow thanks for the kind words buddy! I think. He’s pretty stoked… he framed my letter I wrote him asking him to be my best man. Haha and told his entire church!

He doesn’t know yet… but my fiancé and I are doing a bachelor/bachelorette cruise to the western Caribbean. We bought him a room for the trip! This will be his first international vacation, aside from visiting Puerto Rico (where he was born). Should be a fun time!:)

LSA, thanks buddy, I appreciate it. It is a very beautiful venue, I’m excited.

I fully understand how lucky I am. My fiancé just lost her last grand parent here last winter. She understands how much my grandfather means to me. So when I told her he was going to be my best man and that I’d be taking him to  his first game she cried.

By chance, do you know what the price for parking is?

Oh that’s an awesome idea!…

Oh that’s an awesome idea! He is 70 this year, but he is in good physical shape. Hits the gym and trains for the Crim race in Flint every year!

I like the idea of setting up somewhere for a couple of drinks and snacks. Then walking around and just enjoying the atmosphere. It would be great if we can get Game Day for The Game!!

Thank you, so much, for all the advice!

Thank you man, I appreciate…

Thank you man, I appreciate the advice. I’m thankful I’m able to do this with him.

I lost my grandmother when I was a little guy. So I understand where you are coming from. I, like you, was able to spend time with my grandma before she passed. My younger siblings never got to meet her, sadly.

Rutger... or the Dutch…

Rutger... or the Dutch cognate of Roger. Can we just call them Roger?

I mean I get that It just came off so cheesy... and god is Ren a terrible villain. He’s about as menacing as a wet paper bag. Gets his ass kicked in 7 by someone with no Jedi training... I’d rather have Darth Mal come back with a vengeance. Hell I would take the conspiracy rumors of JarJar being a sith over Ren. Also, don’t get me started on how easily Snoke was “defeated”
Agree 100% Everything JJ touches turns to gold... I wish he would have done this trilogy to completion. I think he did a good job with 7. But I also think that’s what led to the demise of this movie. He did a great job and then it wasn’t followed up well.
I thought This director was suppose to be back for 9 and Disney told him no thanks let’s bring back JJ
Lol Yeah, I mean I got her to watch all the movies (in released order) in about a week. Now she keeps telling me she wants a little padawan of our own. (Yeah, she wants kids)
Yeah it’s in theater How it works is... the theater doesn’t lose money nor does the movie production it’s self. They sell your movie viewing habits to other companies and reel in money via advertising. Everyone gets their cut of the share... it’s a bonus to the theater as you are now coming in more often and dropping more money on concessions. We definitely have spent more money on concessions as we save $20 by using the pass. So it’s a win win win.
Worst part of the movie Luke dodges Ren’s lightsaber swing with the matrix move and then stands up and brushes his shoulders off. What the hell. My girlfriend who is a casual Star Wars fan(I’m the SW nerd) leans to me mid movie and says “this is like a terrible spoof of Star Wars” I said “yeah, I’m pissed”. The stalling by Poe with Hux was Spaceballsesque... I knew this movie would be a pile of crap the second I heard about the director being cut loose
No need to clean out your wallet Check out MoviePass.com, unlimited movies for $10 a month at most theaters. Down side is you have to wait a week or so before passes are accepted. So no midnight releases, but you can’t beat $10 for all the movies you want. I’ve gone to see movies I would not normally see, because why not? Pretty cool, check it out
Honestly Not impressed... super cheesy humor and bad plots. I think for me it’s in the bottom 3 Star Wars movies. Pretty disappointed :/
Well Idk how much I trust the reviews of Russia Today... but I heard Rotten Tomato gave it a similar score.
True that This place aside from the jokes that won’t die, the overkill on snark and a few annoying posters... this place is awesome. I read this blog daily... at work, home, the shitter, car rides, awkward social gatherings. You name it... I’ve met fans all over that read this and when I meet someone who hasn’t joined this place I highly recommend it to them.
Lmao The lesser known sons of god Kevin and Larry have me rolling right now hahaha
Almost as good as The time I worked at Arby’s in high school and told the new guy he had to stir the ice in the ice machine with the scoop to keep it fresh.
Lol @ That 2015 Lady Bing award... his alleged crime is going to get him way more than 14 minutes in the box for the 2017-2018 season
This is About to become an MgoBlogism
Are You talking about Terrified Pinckney? Started as just a couple going. All out for a friends and family yearly scare?
Thats Pretty cool.. I live in Metamora. So not a far drive, I'm going to check it out. We love this time of year so we enjoy all aspects of the season!
