My fault. Better link.

Balas, 247 board, Ant Wright…

Balas, 247 board, Ant Wright…yep lots of smoke that Juwan is done. Apparently there was some sort of physical altercation he was involved with on Friday.

Unfortunately he’s likely…

Unfortunately he’s likely following his coach to MSU.

Chris Balas said they were…

Chris Balas said they were expecting Rod Moore to return.

We gave up 488 yards and…

We gave up 488 yards and they couldn’t move the ball an inch vs Georgia. Let’s not make excuses. Our D got shredded.

I don’t mind the way too…

I don’t mind the way too early depth charts but yeah it’s a total crap shoot at this point. The biggest domino is Harbaugh of course. Or winning the Natty. Either one happens and I think you will see a lot of guys go. The OP list is extremely optimistic as many will go but we will see. My best guess at this point would be as follows:

QB: JJ (Feeling 51 pct)
RB: Edwards (55 pct)
WR: Morgan
WR: Morris
WR: Transfer (Might be Clemons but so far it hasn’t clicked)
TE: Loveland
LT: Transfer or Hinton
LG: El Hadi
C: Crippen
RG: Barnhart
RT: Jones

DT: Graham
DE: Grant
DE: McGregor or Moore
DE: Stewart
LB: Hausman
LB: Rolder or transfer (Colson 70 pct gone)
NB: McBurrows
CB: Johnson
CB: Hill (sophomore surge)
SS: Paige (55 pct back. Otherwise Sabb)
FS: Q Johnson (Rod Moore 75 pct gone)

If you follow recruiting you…

If you follow recruiting you know we lose a ton of recruits to “NIL friendly” schools. I don’t think joining the SEC would make us flip a switch and say ok, now we will do it.
It would be a tremendous disadvantage for us to compete against schools that are paying up front for recruits. It’s not that we can’t do it, it’s that we are unwilling.

No way.
Michigan would…

No way.
Michigan would drown in the SEC. We aren’t willing to wade into their world of pay for play.

Take a look. It’s in a book…

Take a look. It’s in a book.

And here.  We. Go.

This…

And here.  We. Go.

This has been a calculated attempt of a takedown by the other Big Ten programs. All of them thinking we are getting the death penalty better be prepared to be disappointed. I believe we have dirt on a lot of programs. So Buckeye and MSU lurkers, how far you want to take this?

I completely disagree. I’m a…

I completely disagree. I’m a Fort member and he’s been ahead of every single thing that’s dropped. But if it makes you feel better, go ahead and put him down.

Balas is saying it’s not…

Balas is saying it’s not good. Overwhelming evidence that there’s no way the coaches wouldn’t know.

Yup

Yup

FYI.
This might not be true…

FYI.
This might not be true. Balas is dropping some really bad info.

What does that mean? He can…

What does that mean? He can’t still be a booster for MSU?
That’s the big rumor is that the Ishbias are giving him $15M a year.

The implication is that they…

The implication is that they didn’t come in with some damning evidence of other coaches involvement.

Balas is saying impeccable…

Balas is saying impeccable sources say they did happen. And that they were positive.

edit: just as a clarification he said there was some zoom meetings with coaches and they interviewed some staff. Not trying to give away any more payrolled info but just noting a few different places have reported a little more positive news today. Could change with more evidence. And it sounds like there might be more to come out.

OP should say been NO proof…

OP should say been NO proof of other coaches involvement as of yet. Can we still not edit?

That’s kind of where I’m at…

That’s kind of where I’m at. I don’t see this as some great thing for MSU. Sure they will get a new coach, but I don’t see Deion or some hot coach lining up to take that job now. Especially with the structure of the Big Ten knowing it’s the 9th or 10th best job.

But the question is, are…

But the question is, are they sure to get a good coach? I imagine MSU is going to have to fight not to give him some sort of settlement and I’m not sure how attractive that job is right now. I feel like they are going to have to really overpay again like they did with Tucker.  And it doesn’t sound like he will go away quietly. It might get messy for them.

Like I said. At over 100…

Like I said. At over 100 scholarships. Gonna happen with guys where we have a ton of depth. Expect more. Don’t freak out.

Yeah what mgrowold said.
I…

Yeah what mgrowold said.
I REALLY hope we don’t have people freaking out about transfers. It’s going to happen when you sign big classes and bring in other transfers. Probably see 8-10 more.

No he can’t.
He signed a…

No he can’t.
He signed a national letter of intent with Michigan so he is not eligible to now become a walk on. People love to say this, but it’s not reality. He could if he was a graduate student though. But he’s not.

Hard pass.
He snuck out…

Hard pass.
He snuck out without telling any of his teammates or coaches. I don’t think there is any coming back from that.

Glenn was not even close to…

Glenn was not even close to being top 50.

May not be a walkover? Who…

May not be a walkover? Who ever said it would be? This post is kind of ridiculous.

You have a pretty toxic…

You have a pretty toxic personality.

To expect a top 3 class is…

To expect a top 3 class is just wishful thinking. Go check out the classes of those top 3 schools and tell me if Michigan has ever come even remotely close to a class like that. More realistic to hope for classes in the 6-10 range like we have had in the past.

It always matters in the end…

It always matters in the end.

Unfortunately it’s because…

Unfortunately it’s because he still wants an NFL job. I’ve come to accept it.

The bad news is that he took…

The bad news is that he took the meeting and some insiders are saying they were still negotiating. This is disappointing considering he came out and said that he was returning to Michigan. Sounds like he isn’t as committed to that as I would like.

He will end up at Iowa and…

He will end up at Iowa and their fans will be ecstatic.

Why would Bama want Weiss?…

Why would Bama want Weiss? Highly doubtful that is their move. Highly.

Again?

Again?

Where are the other 2 pics?

Where are the other 2 pics?

I saw it as well.

I saw it as well.

Oh man!!! Now we won’t have…

Oh man!!! Now we won’t have any depth at all!!!

Just kidding. But I wanted to beat whoever was going to say that.

FYI, as mentioned we are…

FYI, as mentioned we are currently over 100 for scholarships so it’s reasonable to expect about 10 more of these announcements plus the NFL departures. So be prepared and don’t think the sky is falling.

Stop.

This is seriously…

Stop.

This is seriously so annoying that people do the hand wringing about depth after every transfer announcement. You do realize we’re currently over 100 scholarships right now, right?

We play 2 LBs and we have Colson, NHG, Rolder, Hausman, possibly Barrett and 5 other LBs.

We are fine. Attrition happens.

Sopwith What does this mean?…

Sopwith What does this mean? I guess I’m not getting what you are saying. He’s being quiet about NFL teams because he doesn’t think he’s interested? Or am I missing what you are saying?

“Decent team”

Thats…

“Decent team”

Thats hilarious. They got train wrecked by every team with a pulse they played.

Um..sorry?

Um..sorry?

Thanks. Not trying to cause…

Thanks. Not trying to cause a fight. JohhnyHintz says I’m wrong, you confirm what i have heard. I believe it was Sam Webb that said the scholarship players can’t go on walk on status to get around the system. But I do think we can be creative with transfers and grad students with NIL where we couldn’t before. Either way, I don’t see it as an issue and we will probably go into the fall in the mid to high 80s.

Yeah, and to be clear I don…

Yeah, and to be clear I don’t think we are going to have a problem. I think there are a lot of guys who are gonna go to the NFL and a lot of guys who are going to look for playing time elsewhere. I think that’s normal. But at the same time inevitably there are going to be people that are gonna freak out every time a third string player enters the portal, and they shouldn’t.

And yes I know Brian said it…

And yes I know Brian said it, but I’m not sure he’s completely correct in this context. I still don’t think you can have 100 guys with a bunch of your “scholarship” guys getting NIL money to cover it. I think transfers who were not previously on scholarship at Michigan or grad student guys might be the only way to “game the system”.

I’m not sure that’s correct…

I’m not sure that’s correct but if someone knows definitively I will defer to them. From what I have read, the NCAA does not allow anyone who signed a scholarship out of HS to go to walk on status after signing that paperwork. But if someone can dispute that, I will listen. Last year we were at 87 but also had some transfer guys who probably had an NIL deal.

* = New recruit

# =…

* = New recruit

# = Transfer

Also, my observations from this. 20 is a lot of offensive lineman. I think you were going to see at least four or five move on. The rest of the positions are going to lose a guy or two here or there but we seem to be in pretty good shape and it will all depend on who decides to come back. If Corum goes, I could see us pursuing a transfer RB. Same situation with CB, really depends on Green/Turner.

Marshall and Moore are also…

Marshall and Moore are also 2-3 hours behind us so not surprising they haven’t signed yet.
