Oh, for fuck sakes, is…

Oh, for fuck sakes, is everyone trying to get off the naughty list?

As a first responder of multiple car accidents, and whom grew up in a family of firefighters, I can assure you that there is humor in car accidents. There is humor in all the other ways that you, your friends, and your family will eventually die from too. No popularity ranking will make one less funnier than the other.

Now, I wonder what the 69th cause of death is?

Yea quietly. My wife is an avid deer hunter and also a falconer.

I love training the dogs and bird hunting for grouse and woodcock. That is my jam, but a guy I work with was born in Mexico and wanted to experience the American tradition of opening day of firearm.

So, I took him out and we both bagged pretty decent deer. We had a great morning. Many husbands may have wives who backseat drive... mine backseat hunts. She just sat there. Judging. Pumping her milk. But..

She gutted my friends deer for him! I could tell he was taken aback by it. We had a great time...

Now, after a fish fry, it is time to head back out. Go Blue. Oh, and by the way...

Lighten the fuck up in life, you guys. Holy shit. We are an awesome fan base and have an awesome team. Fuck the naysayers like Galloway and Thamel. Who cares what they think.

Partly because I feel like my opinion is better than just about everyone here, and also because "If Being Fake Was An Olympic Sport".

Growing up in the I was…

Growing up in the I was influenced by Sabbath, Zeppelin, and the Beatles. I was born in '92, and my dad made sure to keep me hip to the classics. I grew to enjoy music enough to pick up a guitar and through a series of God-wink moments I befriended a bass player who used to play semi-frequently at the Grande Ballroom in the late '60's with his high school band. He became, and still is, my music mentor who tells me all sorts of stories of the past. It's incredible to listen to what the music scene was like in his teen and young adult years.

In what has become an almost routine circle of conversation when asked about his influences and yesteryear, we humbly land on The Byrds.

We will talk tonight. I'll grab a guitar and pluck away quietly while getting lost in his stories that he's going to tell me. That's music, man. That's what it's all about. It's the catalyst for our souls to communicate to eachother.

Rock and Roll never dies.

I remember clinging to…

I remember clinging to Brandon Minor for a glimmer of hope, UCONN stalling at the goal line, Randy Edsall throwing his headset in glee, a rotund coach stubbornly not wearing one, beating UMASS by 5 pts, watching a QB get brain damage, M00N, the Sam McGuffie youtube video, a game totaling 7000 pts and 14 OT's against the Illini, being a basketball school, a giant macaroni, 2 tickets with a coke, Dat Bull 4 Life, Akron, surviving MSU with field goals, not surviving MSU with a punt, opening the the season ranked #2, ending a season with 3 wins..

Rarely beating Ohio State for most of my adolescence, and not winning them through early adulthood.

I'm so proud of this team. So proud of the program. It's football, man, and the future is so promising. Am I frustrated? Sure, but I'm a damn proud Michigan fan wearing some dope Jordan gear who gets to happily watch parkinggod highlights of recent and not a addidas wearing dweeb watching Wolverine Historian of games when I was 5.

Go Blue and Happy New Year, ladies and gents. It's been a fun year.

Anxiety is rough. It's weird…

Anxiety is rough. It's weird, because in the hustle and bustle of everyday life I bode well. When things get heavy I, I'm usually calm.

However, when there's not much going on in life, I can be a wreck. My mind drifts into weird places that are dark. It's mind boggling that I can literally laugh with someone about how wild and irrational my thoughts are, but at that same moment they feel so real and apparent.

I'm lucky to have people in my life who understand that about anxiety. On Christmas Eve I explained to my dad, a firefighter and former ego-centric middleweight boxer turned teddy bear grandfather, that I was having a panic attack and felt guilty that even though I was there at his house with my family I felt so detached and scared because I felt something was wrong with me.

He said well, with "Huh, well, it's just a panic attack, and before you pass out, go lay down, focus on your breathing, and listen to the Beatles. (My favorite band)

And 20 minutes later it passed, and was able to be present, which ironically, is an amazing gift.

Thanks to everybody sharing their experience. It helps alot.

Ahh man, I'm so happy to…

Ahh man, I'm so happy to hear you're doing well now. I'm sure it was tough. Tip of the hat to you.

Thanks, yeah, I hope it's…

Thanks, yeah, I hope it's not anything too bad. I've had blood work and urine labs done twice with normal results. And I've had a few fingers where I wished there wouldn't have been and told I have hemmoroids.

I've had a CT scan in the ER, that showed me healthy just backed up with hemmoroids. I live with bi-polar 2, and anxiety. The latter has been crippling lately.

But we keep on going. Being dads, employees and football junkies. One day at a time. And today is a special day! Go Blue.

I've been having some…

I've been having some digestive issues for the past 6 months, and scheduled for a colonoscopy in a few weeks. At 30 years old, I wasn't expecting all of this.

So my wife gifted me a wooden Michigan toilet paper holder that is the shape of a toilet slash a gag gift a few moments ago. She laughed and laughed and laughed.

I have a feeling she's going to hate it when I gorilla glue it to the floor of her bathroom on April 1st.

Sending love to you all. Merry Christmas everyone!

No Hoffa and Thanks

Yes, most people write messages on projects. Every job I've been on in the past 2ish years has "Me and (partner's name) have survived Covid... So far." written somewhere on the building.

Let's Go Doan! Keep it up

The supply chain crises has seem to been alleviated. Michigan is really good at making anything with gypsum, but steel is an issue. These big projects get priority. At Mclaren, we were getting material almost directly from the manufacture. Money talks and those projects lose thousands by the day when they are behind schedule.

I was in and out of the Union project, GM Tech Center and St. Joes Hospitals for a couple years. Most of my career has been in interior systems with ACP, then we moved up north and decided to try concrete form work. I love every second of it. I am actually moving back downstate today, playing hooky to do so! As far as the Union project I helped put on the floor and wall protection in the beginning of the project, did some interior framing throughout the project and then some punch list/signage stuff at the end when Covid hit.

Username kind of checks out now. I've settled down a bit. I am a goofball, rebellious in nature, and a thorn in the side of management. Always poking and prodding for the betterment of the workers, and will go to bat for my brothers and sisters. Sometimes I am inappropriate, however I do think that there are only two true bastions of free speech left... Comedy clubs and Jobsites. (jest)

But now at 29 years old with a wife and two kids, my body already hurts every morning from running and gunning. So, maybe maturity and sweat equity will bring an opportunity for management, or career change. For now we grind, claw, hustle, take no shit and bust ass because it makes us money and places for you to work, learn and recover. We are all in this together.

Man, as a recovering…

Man, as a recovering alcoholic, I would think this would be hilariously ironic to be in Prater's shoes.

I've actually been in a meeting with a guy who has a craft beer named after him, so it could always be worse.

FWIW, I have never met anybody with a "serious drinking problem" recover by moving locations.

The guy doesn't have a…

The guy doesn't have a fucking I-formation in his playbook.

I really think this is the worst Michigan Football team I have seen take the field.

It really sucks. But hey, at least we aren't Tennessee, yet

FWIW, UA's hunting gear is…

FWIW, UA's hunting gear is trash and so is UCLA's athletics at the moment.. maybe they should just double down with each other

I grew up in Dexter, and we…

I grew up in Dexter, and we would make the trek every friday after school as the first kid in our friend group turned 16.

Then the fake ID's from the deep web became popular. Good times.

Looking back on it now, we probably weren't really fooling anybody

Because he couldn't go for 3.

Because he couldn't go for 3.

UofM just said we can have…

UofM just said we can have the day off! Oh wait nvm, they want their building finished. I'm working at the UofM/Ford Robotics building on north campus. That job is a fucking shitshow.

I think he is on Heisman.

I think he is on Heisman.

I doubt he is adjusting sliders though. That is where the magic happens.

Wow. I had been in contact…

Wow. I had been in contact with him a few years ago as we are both in recovery. He helped me out a lot in early sobriety. Damn.

If you have never read the…

If you have never read the story of the recent turnaround at Dexter, MI. Do some googling and be amazed. When in school our football squad was bad, and after I left, it got even worse. I think they had 3 or 4 winless seasons.

And now they are playoff contenders!

Ya he's a POS, but it is a…

Ya he's a POS, but it is a good point. What is the issue?

Tip of the hat to Brian. I…

Tip of the hat to Brian. I looked at the video, said to myself "....hmmmm, no". Well done.

I lowered expectations,…

I lowered expectations, however I still do not sit for 90 percent of the game. It doesn't matter if I'm at home or at The Big House, I still get yelled at to sit down.

I wish they would have a real spring game, though. That was super fun and it got the hype going. It is a lot of fun changing NCAA 14 rosters and stuff.

I dont work at costco. I…

I dont work at costco. I enjoy what I do and I'm in the highest paid sector of what I love to do. Union Carpenter till I die. Some people aren't made to sit on the couch. Shit, I even watch football standing up.

So ya, instead of telling people on a cyber message board to potentially give up what they love doing how about you enjoy the good life.

Someone made that couch you're sitting on, and the building you live in,and stocked the shelf you got your groceries from, and farmed the field to get the grains for your cheesy poofs, and those people can have the good life too, and don't have to live job scared.

Yes. Developing temporary…

Yes. Developing temporary screening rooms and drive through testing stations at hospitals in the greater Ann Arbor area.Hopefully we can get the okay to build them ASAP.

I work in your world…

I work in your world building your fucking university.

And no dont have sick time or personal time. We have health insurance, annuity, pension and a vacation fund. You take off the time you can afford and you can solicit your own work from anybody who wants to employ you. If your sick, or don't feel comfortable with your work environment you don't have to come in. They may bring you your check, sure but they can't make you.

I've never been laid off. I've dragged up and switched companies once in my career. Because they were commiting payroll fraud.

So, think about this for a second. While North Campus is shut down we are at Ford Robotics. While St. Joes is on lockdown we are building temp screening rooms for Trinity health. While some of you fucking fat cats are sitting back collecting a check for doing jack shit and buying your first 9mm and charmin, we are up 100 ft in the air building a hospital in lansing so the Spartans can treat their 3rd degree burns from lighting couches on cedar street.

So fuck off, and fuck your boss.

Idk why you're getting…

Idk why you're getting downvoted. No employer can tell and employee they have to work. Fuck all that bullshit.

Can't build buildings from…

Can't build buildings from home.

We were installing some signs at the Student Union on friday. Hope you all like it. It was a pretty tough renovation.

16 oz hammer? You think we…

16 oz hammer? You think we built the Big House renovation with 16 oz hammers??

You think we built the "Million Dollar Wall" behind Ross with 16 oz hammers?

There are two types of people with 16 oz hammers:

1. Men who pee sitting down

2. Men with vaginas

Yay, more work. We should be…

Yay, more work. We should be turning over the Student Union soon. I have since moved on to a different job, but I hear they are getting close.

Many projects around campus. This new hospital would be a banger. We finished the health center in brighton last year, and that was about 80 carpenters for the interior alone. This job is going to be a monster. Keep 'em coming.

Ehhh, ya but Wilton should…

Ehhh, ya but Wilton should have been the same after the offseason. The summer leading into his final season he definitely changed his throwing mechanics, presumably to get into the NFL, and it backfired. Look at the tape. Wilton had a weird wind up, almost a flamboyant throwing motion and it changed in the offseason his senior year.

Shea has a mediocre ceiling and composure issues. He is good at stuff until he sucks, then he kinda sucks.

They are not all for profit…

They are not all for profit. That's some ignorant shit. Go up north or come out here to north Jackson county and I'll gladly show you some churches that make your first sentence look about as good as dog shit.

I'd make thousands of…

I'd make thousands of dollars off of that game

Great first game with a…

Great first game with a completely new look.

Blue Collar Analysis

1. Turner and Charbonnet are quality backs.

2. The offense didn't score 100 points, wtf?

3. Shea Patterson is Shea Patterson, still needs to throw the damn ball away, made some great throws, made some handling errors, had some drops... Men, he is a good quarterback not an elite QB

4. Hogg molly OL did pretty good considering inexperience at Tackle and a MTSU team that was straight hell bent on chaos

5. No moreathat 2 QB bullshit. Completely killed a drive, which killed momentum, which killed my mellow

6. DPJ>Ronnie Bell but FFS, who really thought he was anything better then what he played tonight?

7. Put murderfacê in at FB and run a maryland I or someshit... or at least put Milton in maybe? Watching Mccaffery try to noodle his way in the end zone was like watching a dog on a slip and slide..

8. I don't want to ask this, but, like, was the playcalling weird to you? To me it must have been the coaches really trying to feel what stuff will work and what won't..

9. MTSU would destroy Tulsa

10. And Idaho

8. (Cont.) Those rpo's were actually pretty slick and very effective, unless they were PA quick slants..

11. If Patterson is in the pocket and it collapses he isn't one to make very good decisions with his feet, if he is on a designed rollout or has fled the pocket before pressure gets there he be aight.

12. Some of the plays were too busy.. overly dramatic yet we knew what was going to happen.

I'm pretty content with the offense as of now. This is the first game of a new offense, mistakes were made but there was a lot of good.

The airport is AN example…

The airport is AN example supporting my position of extreme caution/personal distaste of Dexter's rural development. Shit, call me a tree hugger for wanting the trees on Mast Rd saved.

I do miss the buck pole*

I couldn't care less about when you were there, if your opinion is based on your personal experience and mine is based upon personal experience, than so be it. I ain't crabby at you, nor have time for your feelings. If you think Dexter is better off now than what it was, then great. I dont think that is the case. I think Dexter, and its populous has become smug and elitist, rather than a down home small and humble town.

Maybe we aren't on the same page. Go blue.

Life's series of events led…

Life's series of events led me to where I am. My brother moved to munith about 5 years ago, my girlfriend works for the DNR at Waterloo, and the housing market gave us a home we can afford, be proud of, and still have money to play.

Dexter will always be home. I grew up on the north side by the Chain of Lakes and still find it a great place that hasn't been too disrupted by city folk. But, there is a difference. We all knew eachother in that town. There wasn't Aubree's, or Busch's. Hell, Huron Farms wasn't really built until I was in 7th grade. So, maybe I'm just crabby of change. So be it.

I grew up telling my mom goodbye in the morning and riding down to the lakes and gallivanting around. Having what I think is the last of that 'murican childhood. Now, I don't feel comfortable in my home town. Sure, it is safe, most upper middle class towns are, but that too ( the notion of a safe haven for yuppies) has exploited some of what made Dexter home to me. A horse farm and residents off of gregory rd petitioned to stop some rich asshole from building an airport subdivision a few years ago.

Although, I may sound like a redneck, there was room to breathe and not much bother. It always have been safe and had good education. Clean? It was a farm town for christ sake, springtime shit means money. What you call depressed was just a fine way to live, thank you. So literally and figuratively, get the fuck off my lawn.

Oof. Man. The smallies in huron tho, nothing beats taking a Wednesday off of work and kayaking the huron for fish.
