Perfectly put. I keep going…

Perfectly put. I keep going back to re-read the comments/replies to Brian's post yesterday. I don't mean to be hyperbolic but the amount of replies, and the genuine sincerity behind them, truly blew me away. Everything in the world feels off kilter. Sports, politics, normal human interactions...etc. To read these comments really gave me an extra spring that I didn't realize I needed.

Great diary post. The past 24 hours have been maybe the most inspired this site has ever been. Aside from when Brian and co. were able to basically get Dave Brandon fired.

Well done.

Brian- thank you for sharing…

Brian- thank you for sharing this with the Mgoblog community. Reading your post, and then reading these responses by everyone has been incredible. You have created something truly original and special to all of us. No matter what your involvement is going forward just know that you created something that was essential for all Michigan fans for the past 17 years.

You have only witnessed 1 win vs OSU in that time, but thinking about it maybe your timing couldn't have been better for this fanbase. We needed this site to share in the collective misery that has been 21st century UM football (for the most part). And your writing, team, and insanely detailed approach to the content on this site was our light in the storm.

I hope your rebuild finds you inner peace, and thank you again for giving so much to this site for all of these years. Go Blue.

I wrote an email to Brian…

I wrote an email to Brian not long after the Minnesota/Shane Morris game which felt like the nadir of Michigan Football. It was about having a sense of hope, because of the memories of great times before and believing we would experience it again. It was after my first son was born and I remember having a lot of life changing ‘feels’ at the time. I didn’t expect anything back...just a UM fan writing to his favorite writer of UM. So when I got a response back, and his response was that this email should be a diary I have to say I never expected it would effect me so much like it did. Brian you’re a legend, and a true ‘one of one’ in this very specific world we care so much about. Cheers to better days.

Currently employed by Fox. I…

Currently employed by Fox. I can safely say that if I were the head coach of UM I would convey a similar opinion that Meyer spewed from his disingenuous mouth but actually have credibility. The same guy who has ‘dream school’ exceptions in his contract since he coached Utah that includes UM. My opinion would be less full of shit. I would simply reiterate everything UM is as a program, and that “there is no game bigger to our lives than this game. It’s a culture war. They cheat, they cut corners, they have no respect for anyone. They are obsessed with us because deep down we are something they never will be. And mark my words..yes they have owned this series lately. But history is a long and stubborn thing. And when people look back at this time they will look at 11/30/19 as the time UM fell on the right side of history and kept it going. And then Urban Meyer left the studio and took his next ‘dream job’ at USC a week later. Go Blue.” That’s what I would say. Seriously fuck that guy. My word what a con-man.

The top 10 team that

The top 10 team that demolished Xavier happened to be in the Big East championship game. They didn't add a freshman 'phenom' but did add a redshirted Sumner from last year and he is light years better than Dee Davis at the PG spot. And Stainbrook was good but not their best player. Losing him made Xavier a much more athletic and aggressive team on both ends of the floor. Rankings don't mean crap in college hoops. Syracuse was unranked at the end of February in 2003 and won the National Championship.

This is almost too much to

This is almost too much to comprehend. First he trolls Urb on his shady recruiting tactics, plays first base coach for the A's, saves a woman from a car accident on the highway, props Cracker Barrel and Judge Judy, gives the greatest look of all time to the news of Snow Crabs, ask's Jameis if he is a sex addict, and now this camp. This team is going 14-0 this year.

I graduated from Xavier a

I graduated from Xavier a little while back and can't wait for this game. UM should have a big advantage at the point with Walton going up against a first time starter. The rest of XU's team is athletic and solid. Jalen Reynolds, Remy Abell, and Trevon Blueitt (a Beilein target from last year) will be XU's core. UM should be favored to win especially with Caris coming back. Plus Chris Mack's gameday coaching leaves much to be desired. I've always wanted to see this game happen.

The timeout situation has

The timeout situation has completely killed the 'product' the last few years. Reducing timeouts needs to be addressed immediately, but I never fully understood the constant review of how much time is left on the clock when a ball goes through the basket or out of bounds in the last minute of the game. I understand the last minute of the game is crunch time in a close game but in theory does that mean the previous 39 minutes of game action were perfect on starts and stops with the clock? Drives me insane.

Solid read. Normally the

Solid read. Normally the stress level of watching OSU in a big game like that, and hoping for a loss, is at an unhealthy level. On Monday I turned the tv off in the 3rd quarter and went to bed completely indifferent. Knowing we have JH to guide us through the next number of years has wiped away all of that angst. Gone are the days where all I had was to root against OSU or MSU in big games. HARBAUGH.

He is a good football player.

He is a good football player. I would like it very much if he joined the team.

I never got the conference

I never got the conference loyalty garbage. Ohio St fans are the biggest bunch of mouth breathers on the planet and do not deserve a championship for falling ass backwards into Urban Meyer's lap 3 years ago while we have toiled in the desert for 7 years. I will never ever ever ever root for Ohio State. I don't care if this makes me as bad as them. I do not want to be a part of enabling that fanbase or school in any way. Go Ducks times a shit ton.

Parcells or Jimmy Johnson for

Parcells or Jimmy Johnson for me. Hated both because of the teams they coached but they are two that are at the top for me.

JH getting NFL experience

JH getting NFL experience under his belt now is huge. If he had won the Super Bowl in year two it would  be even bigger. My only fear, a small one right now, is that he has a need to get that 'itch' scratched at some point. Also, the thought of him working under Brandon is hilarious. No way it would've worked. The best day for UM Football since Jan 1 1998 was December 30 2014, the second best day was October 31 2014. Brandon being gone was so vital for everything that followed to happen. Going from him to Jim Hackett is incredible.

I love SEC Schadenfreude but

I love SEC Schadenfreude but I still wish Bama won. Living in the Cleveland area is going to be hell on earth for the next 11 days.  Last night put a damper on the party in my head that started back on 12/30.

this just tops off what has

this just tops off what has been such a surrel few days. He is already at mythic status in my book. I couldn't get over seeing guys like Michael Silver openly chuckle yesterday about how 'diabolical' it would be if JH was still using UM as a negotiating ploy this late in the game. He added that if true it would be brilliant. The NFL is dead to me.

Now Balas has jumped on board

Now Balas has jumped on board to the 99.999% 'it's done' crowd. He has been maintaining a cautious 50/50 mark for awhile. I am catatonic right now.

I hate this.

I hate this.

I am terrified of my

I am terrified of my happiness right now

if there is a 'last minute

if there is a 'last minute change of heart' from JH I am going to use that as a tag line for all horrible things in life going forward. A lot like how people throw 'gate' at the end of some random scandal. example: my employer had a 'last minute change of heart' and fired me today.

These new Colts rumors are

These new Colts rumors are mind boggling.

I feel like the wait for this

I feel like the wait for this to be officially announced one way or the other has been the emotional equivalent of the two seconds right before you throw up.

Adidas sucks balls. The zubaz

Adidas sucks balls. The zubaz uniforms they made teams in the tournament wear a few years ago was an attack on society.

I will not know how to recact

I will not know how to recact with this level of good news if it happens.

it means the actual 1989

it means the actual 1989  team shows up in the 2nd half to beat Illinois one more time.

Jed York is the one thing

Jed York is the one thing that terrifies me about this whole thing on JH. He is a spoiled shithead who could hold this whole thing up out of spite. And it wouldn't surprise me. On top of that he is from Youngstown and went to ND. I am too conditioned for something horrible to happen to this program.

Is there confirmation that JH

Is there confirmation that JH is meeting with the 9ers brass today? Between this and Brian's post last night my emotions are borderline irrational right now.

If Hoke is Bump Elliott does

If Hoke is Bump Elliott does that make Kyle Wittingham or Jim Mora Jr. the second version of Bo then?

Ohio State spends the rest of

Ohio State spends the rest of that time mapping out how they kick our ass every year in football.... which is really what we care about at the end of the day.

I remember back in 2005 ESPN

I remember back in 2005 ESPN did a bracket where they took the national champs of the last 10 years ( I believe that was the timeframe) and pitted them against that year's USC team. Mark May made a comment along the lines of 'Charles Woodson the NFL player would have not been able to cover Dwayne Jarrett...' I don't know why this post reminds me of that but yeah..........Mark May f*cking door knob. Oh and we beat every team out there this season. Decision based on number of pros on both sides of the ball the '97 team had. We were basically like the Alabama squad that throttled ND a few years ago for the title.

I really hope Mike and Mike

I really hope Mike and Mike get the opinion of Cris Carter on this coaching search. Listening to that show is a slice of hell. It is only slightly better than listening to someone talk about their crossfit workout.

at dinner the other night my

at dinner the other night my wife asked me what was going on with the coaching search and if we were going to get 'that Harbaugh guy.' At first I was thrown off by her question since my wife will put on Vanderpump Rules the minute I leave the room and hates sports. As I began to answer I saw her slowly drift further and further away and her eyes glazed over. I then realized I didn't feel so bad I hadn't bought her Christmas present yet. This coaching search is ruining my life.

I really hope it's Herman if

I really hope it's Herman if we don't land JH. That offense is just absurdly awesome to watch. And the fact that Ohio St. fans are terrified of this thought brings me great joy.

I would say no. And then no

I would say no. And then no again. But after thinking about it for awhile.....and looking at what's out there....I would still say no. He's a door knob.

If Dan Shaughnessy ran BC he would write a book on the curse of Billy Curley and question the morality of all the student athletes in regurgitated columns.

Hey Dave

Have a happy life, and quit drinking and leave your office, and with all due respect you are an abomination, and I am sorry you are 'upset', and I suggest you relax and stay home for good.

Sincerely,

2006 ND Game

I loved this game, althought maybe not my favorite game (hard to top '97 OSU game). Underrated in my opinion. One of my happiest moments was right when Prescott ran back his pick 6 on ND's first drive. This game was a total ass kicking and set the tone for the best UM season since '97 (until the last two games).

good post Brian

been an avid reader of the site since 2008 and just recently decided to comment. This last year has been a tire fire among commenters. I don't have a twitter account but it seems as though this place has taken on the tone of a twittersphere thunderdome lately. Go Blue.

This is my first post despite

This is my first post despite reading this blog since 2007. I was ironically drawn to it after 'the horror' which should've been a red flag but whatever. I was compelled to finally post something after reading Brian's sentiments and what bronxblue said. Those thoughts perfectly articulated my state this past weekend. The rage and increduality that the performance in East Lansing gave me (after a 2nd bye week) shifted to a catatonic fear a week later that has only grown this month. We have all seen this movie before. We all know the impending dread. The RR's years were different because there was certainty to it to some degree. This season has a weird ambiguity to it which is way more unnerving. The conflicting feelings this team gives me (the horrendous coaching on all fronts vs. world class recruiting) has only deepened the concern for some reason. Living in Ohio these past 7 years has also escalated my fandom PTSD so that could be it too. All I wanted to say is that I will watch on Saturday, I will fear every second of it, I will be relieved when it is over, I will check the mgoblog community for support, and then I will move on and distance myself from 2013 and eventually come around to the idea of the 2014 team. That is all I can do. Sorry for the long post. Go Blue.
