Paging Seth! This is the best content-driven diary entry I've read in awhile. It's informative, topical, easy to understand, and could easily stand next to recruiting class updates to provide deeper analysis of how Michigan is doing in comparison to her peers (In fact, it'd be awesome if that happened). I actually agree with you. Every time I visit 11W I come away with a new-found respect for their bloggers. And while I can't necessarily say the same thing for their forum slappies that act like typical ohio fans, I do appreciate the site's overrall feel, formatting, and well-researched postings on the main page. I think it's hard to maintain such quality without charging for the blog (a la this site or 11W), but I do think many of our diarists provide for the same type of reasearched-based topics that end up on 11W's main page. Now if only we could stop the recent overrunning of trolls on this site...
Yeah, I'm not sure if they would leave or not, but I'm not sure that Johns Hopkins would join as a lacrosse affiliate either. I think it would certainly be an interesting move for the conference if UVA and Hopkins were linked to the B1G in some fashion, though, and I definitely find it intriguing that both are being speculated as potential members/affiliates. I stand by my post, however, in that even without UVA, the supposed B1G lax conference would be strong and competitive.
Well if we brought in UVA and UNC as has been widely speculated, and added Hopkins as an affiliate for lacrosse (again this is pure speculation), the B1G would have a damn good and competitive lax conference. Maryland, PSU, OSU, Virginia, and UNC all finished in the top 20 in lax rankings last year. So, I disagree that Hopkins would dominate.
Hey Magnus, how does a guy like Tommy Doles compare to Mason Cole? I know that the coaches really like Doles, but he seems sort of undersized for his projected position. Perhaps I'm wrong. Doles also seems sort of important to the recruitment of Drake Harris...Curious what your thoughts are. Thanks
This one is definitely debatable, as a Minnesota win would make both Wisky and the Golden Gophers 4-3 in the conference. My general thought process, however, is to root for the home team in these kind of games. Doing well on the road is really hard in the B1G, so the team who is able to steal more road games will likely come out on top...hence my reason for saying Wisconsin..like I said, though, I could see a case for rooting for Minnesota as well.
