While I didn’t see OSU take on Will Perdue, I’m quite surprised to hear he did so well. He’s gotta be like what 50? Did he sub in Bill Cartwright or Bill Wennington at all?

Bravo, agree 100%

Bravo, agree 100%

Hope he gets it figured out…

Hope he gets it figured out and can continue playing here. I don’t want to speculate obviously but if it was something that terrible I doubt they’d let him back in class. Who knows though. He always seemed like a great kid, and I hope wherever his path takes him it works out

You’re missing my point…

You’re missing my point. None of us know the entirety of what happened except him and the coaching staff. It could very well be this was all on him and Harbaugh and co. were totally in the right. Could be the opposite.

My original point I was trying to convey was that they need to do something with this policy, whether that’s being more transparent with the public about it, tweaking it, whatever. Regardless of who’s right and wrong in situations like this, or with Swenson, it makes UM and Harbaugh look bad. And all it takes is one bored writer to blow it way out of proportion.

This is the reality we live in, like it or not. Perception is everything in recruiting, and recruiting is obviously pretty damn important.

Not a good look and based on…

Not a good look and based on what most have said about his talent level (athletic but huge project with little experience) this isn’t worth the bad press. I get the whole non-commitable offer thing, but either they’re doing a terrible job of explaining it to these kids, or they need to figure out a way where this isn’t gonna bite them in the ass. Another couple of these and I could easily see someone at espn or the ringer writing up a big report on all these situations, and then we’ve got a lot of bad PR to fix

RDR2 is fantastic. Skyrim…

RDR2 is fantastic. Skyrim changed the way I look at rpg. Witcher 3. And this is a random one but Fifa 18 made me fall in love with soccer, so technically it changed my life the most lol

Agree 100%. I expected a…

Agree 100%. I expected a couple comments about it, but about 95% have been murder jokes. Does anyone even know his background/living situation? Pretty sure Harbaugh does, more than anyone else commenting anyways

The one thing people seem to…

The one thing people seem to never mention in the whole “scholarships are their pay” discussion: they are being paid with a scholarship, something that let’s be honest, at least 60-70% of the players with a shot at the NFL don’t really care about.

Most of these guys plan on playing in the league, and look at the education as something to fall back on. An education is very valuable to most people, but let’s be real, they’re all in a completely different situation than any of us, and in most cases an education simply isn’t as valuable in their eyes as it is in yours.

This isn’t the perfect analogy but I think it illustrates my point of how people can value things differently: let’s say at 16 years old someone on your street came to u and said “mow the lawn at every house, every week the next 4 years, but instead of paying u, I’ll teach u how to run your own landscaping business”. Is that knowledge something that’s valuable? Most would say “yeah, but I don’t plan on ever running a landscaping business, I just want the money for my services”

Value lies in the eye of the beholder, and let’s be real, they simply don’t value an education as much as a regular person, because most of them are about to be millionaires.

64 teams. Tourney starts at…

64 teams. Tourney starts at the end of October. Guys can’t sit out if almost every team makes the playoff right? What could go wrong?

I totally get it man. There…

I totally get it man. There’s nothing worse than being a true fan of any team, through think and thin, and then when they become good everyone says u like them because they win. But that’s one thing I’m trying to do, learn the history, the ups and downs, all of that. At the end of the day though, people in America who truly love soccer should just be happy more people are watching and discussing it period.

Side note: what’s your best source of soccer news? City news? Any particular YouTube channels u watch? That’s been the hardest part of becoming a new soccer fan, figuring out where and when the games are on (if they’re actually on) and getting consistent news about it. I get bits and pieces but I’m always missing out on something because I’m unaware it’s even on.

In fairness, I think a lot…

In fairness, I think a lot of factors play into that. I’ll give u my personal reason for liking City, even though i just got into soccer in the last 6 months.

1) Whenever the World Cup is held, soccer always gets a fan bump in the US. People like me see the talent at its highest level, and begin to appreciate it.

2) This led me to buy Fifa 18 on Xbox (there was a World Cup mode that intrigued me, plus it was on sale for 14.99 and I figured why the hell not) despite never playing a soccer video game in my life.

3) Even if u don’t like soccer, Fifa is a blast to play. I started seeing all the different leagues all over the world. The different divisions, relegation, the champions league, all of it was so deep I had no clue. This led me to learning about the sport and how everything works, and I fell in love.

4) At the same time, amazon prime ran an All or Nothing series (just like Michigan’s) with City as the focus.

5) Watching this City team with Pep at the helm and the style his teams play, it was very easy to become a fan of them.

Im not saying there’s not a bunch of Americans saying “oh they’re the best team at the moment? I like them” We have people in this country who are Yankees fans, Duke fans, Lakers fans, and patriot fans simultaneously. I’m personally not one of those people. I’m a damn Knicks fan for f*cks sake, not a frontrunner. I completely understand your point, and if I was a United fan it would probably piss me off too, but at the same time it’s not always so simple as everyone just likes them now because they’re good. I know that was long, just thought it was a good point to make.

It’s so unbelievably

It’s so unbelievably frustrating Microsoft won’t make the game backwards compatible.

They’re remote controlled. I

They’re remote controlled. I remember watching one of the seasons of Hard Knocks on HBO (can’t remember what team, rams maybe?) and they had ordered like 25 of them.

Good luck Ace! Sending good

Good luck Ace! Sending good thoughts and vibes your way as always. I truly appreciate your honesty about your health issues and struggles. I hope the medical marijuana does the trick for u. If u can stay off the opiates, do it by any means possible. I was prescribed 5 tramadol a day about 6-7 years ago, and I’ve been stugggling with opiates like crazy since then. Keep fighting to find the right combo of things that will work for u. It’s damn near impossible with how insurances and most doctors are today (majority don’t care about their patients, or simply aren’t educated) but u have to keep fighting. A lot of people make a lot money off people like u or I being sick, let’s make sure they fix the f*cking problem. Prayers up to u Ace, you’re clearly a fighter, and u inspire myself and others to keep fighting to fix “what’s wrong with us”.

I’ll agree with u that LBJ is

I’ll agree with u that LBJ is by far the most incredible athlete to play basketball, but as far as MJ getting all the calls? That happens with whoever the best players are in every era. It was MJ, then Kobe got all the calls, now LeBron gets all the calls. That’s just how it is.

I disagree, not many teams

I disagree, not many teams use much zone concept at all in the NBA, too many good shooters. The defensive 3 second rule was put in to open up the game and make it HARDER to play zone, and clear out the paint. You’re 100 percent correct about the iso factor though. Much more ball movement. But the scorers still get their buckets.

Agreed. Also no one ever

Agreed. Also no one ever mentions the hand check rule. When MJ played you could be extremely physical on defense. Taking away that hand check rule was the first domino in making the NBA the high scoring, more free flowing game it is now. If prime MJ played today he’d average 35-40 points a night easily, as well as increase his rebounds and assists due to more possessions because of the higher pace of play. And I know he didn’t shoot a lot of 3’s, but is there any doubt he would have perfected that as well if he played in this era? This is all coming from a Knicks fan who HATED Jordan. LeBron deserves his due, he’ll likely finish as the second best ever, but he’s had too many “wtf” moments in his career. People forget not many years ago Jason Kidd and JJ Barrera were guarding him successfully in nba finals games (Heat Mavs series, 2010-2011 I believe).

I’ve always been a huge HBO

I’ve always been a huge HBO guy so I did watch the first season as it came out, but I had no idea it would develop into such a huge thing. I’ve had a few friends over the years say “that stupid dragon show? I’m not watching that!” Then I’ll show them the Hardhome episode, or Battle of the Bastards, and they quickly change their minds lol

Tyrion’s revenge was great,

Tyrion’s revenge was great, but the Tywin character was pretty epic. Charles Dance is a fantastic character. Fun nerdy fact: If anyone on here has played the game “the Witcher 3” he does the voice acting for the emperor. Netflix is making a Witcher tv series and rumor has it he’ll return in that role in live action. Nerdism over, carry on

Happy for Cole, he deserves

Happy for Cole, he deserves it. But as said above, what the f*ck???? Mo will be fine, but it’s absolute bs he hasn’t been drafted. He’ll make his money on his second contract for sure, but I really feel for him. He’s worked his ass off and deserved better. I get maybe falling to the second round, but this is one of the strangest things I’ve seen in the draft in quite a while.

Lol at the person who

Lol at the person who literally went and negged every single one of my comments like this, even ones thanking people for links.

Yeah I thought Pacino was

Yeah I thought Pacino was fantastic, very eye opening. Thought i knew the whole story, but there was way more I didn’t know

Yes i thoroughly enjoyed

Yes i thoroughly enjoyed making of a murderer, especially it’s style. I’ll definitely have to check out the keepers then. Have u seen “the jinx” the one about Robert Durst? The ending is incredible, so if u haven’t seen it, don’t look up anything online about it. It’s the ultimate WTF moment. Wild wild county was like that as well.

And yes the slender man one was good, honestly everything HBO does documentary wise is gold

Totally depends on what types

Totally depends on what types of shows you like, and who you’re watching with, but I’ll throw out some of my favorites as I watch an unhealthy amount of shows and movies.
For tv series = The Wire may not be for everyone (when it was on HBO it was widely ignored for a specific reason I won’t get into at the moment, but if you’re a fan of the show u know what I mean). It’s a masterpiece of a show that somehow manages to show both sides of the coin when it comes to the drug trade (police/dealers) yet over the course of 5 seasons, basically breaks down how a major city works, it’s problems, and the cycle of it all. I could go on and on, just give it a shot if it sounds like your thing.

Ozark on Netflix was excellent, Sneaky Pete on amazon prime is one I was recently introduced to and it’s more lighthearted but still has it’s heart pounding moments. Obviously game of thrones, that goes without saying. 7 Seconds on Netflix was well done. The Night Of on HBO is incredible as well and didn’t get enough recognition. First season of True Detective on HBO as well, second season is different characters and plot, not nearly as good. If you’re into documentaries at all, Wild Wild Country on Netflix is one of the best I’ve ever seen. At the end it just depends on what genres u enjoy, and who’s watching with u, hope some of those help.

Yeah you’re right, typed it

Yeah you’re right, typed it on my phone in a rush. Typos galore too

Yikes that was way longer than I thought it would be, excuse my typos please.

As someone who spent part of

As someone who spent part of his childhood in a lily white town in Connecticut, and the other part living in different places around the country where often times, I was the only white person in a group of friends made up of other races (mostly black), it’s a very murky area. I myself have never called any person, any type of slur. Thank the lord both my parents raised me to see everyone equally. But I will say, growing up listening to rap, when I sing along with a song, I’ll sing along with every word. I still do it to this day. Even when I’m with my friends of color, as their singing along with me. In that sense, amongst yourself or friends, I don’t see an issue with it in that particular context. Any other time? Not ok. One issue I noticed growing up, and I’m seeing it a lot with the generation behind mine, is I saw/am seeing white kids using the word as a black person would use it, in a friendly way, to other white kids. Look at the big issue with Josh Allen today, with the Villanova kid, tweets from their high school days being dumb kids and trying to be cool and wanting to be part of the culture. Obviously they were kids saying things they shouldn’t, but I don’t look at either of them as racists at all, just uninformed kids trying to talk the way their favorite rapper, comedian etc might talk. At the same time, when I was younger my friends of color would often refer to me that way as well, though I NEVER said it back, I just never felt comfortable using that word in any way, other than quoting a song. As far as Reske goes, there’s a lot of variables we don’t know (other incidents, more details that never came out etc) but to me, he used the word in a hateful way. Therefore, he’s done. No matter how he grew up, he was and is old enough to know better. When I was about 23 my gf cheated on me and left me for another guy, who happened to be black. I hated the dude, wanted to kill him, but not once did it cross my mind to call him any type of racial slur. Every other name in the book sure, but nothing racial. At the end of the day, if you’re not black, don’t use the word. Just trust me. And for the people saying “they shouldn’t use the word themselves”, as someone else in this thread said, it’s a way for them to take back power over the word. Besides, I’m polish and Irish, and I’ll constantly refer to myself as a polack mick. Just like an Italian person would walk into a room of Italian friends/family and use the g-word amongst themselves. Where’s the outage about that? There isn’t any, and there shouldn’t be. Sorry for the long post, just felt like maybe my personal experiences would shed some light on the topic for people who haven’t been around other cultures much. If not that’s ok too.

Apparently it was a huge hit.

Apparently it was a huge hit. They plan on using an even louder, more obnoxious horn on Monday

Yeah it wasn’t the best

Yeah it wasn’t the best moment as a Uconn fan lol. The worst was when we played state in the final four at ford field, ugh I still have nightmares about that lol. But we’ve been pretty fortunate over the last couple of decades. Hope to get back to where we were soon, just don’t see it happening in the AAC.

Lifelong UM fan here, but

Lifelong UM fan here, but growing up in Connecticut, I of course will always have a special love for Uconn basketball. I mention this only because I vividly remember losing to George Mason in the elite 8, despite the fact Uconn had 3-4 future pros on the team. 75% might be a low number, as everyone there not rooting for Michigan will be rooting against them. I remember that game like it was yesterday, GMU making incredible shots, Uconn not getting the benefit on any calls, nothing bouncing uconns way. I think UM will win, and win running away, just be forewarned, going against a Cinderella team that’s actually good? Not very much fun. This Michigan team is special though, and Beilein is basically the best coach in basketball at this point, so go blue, and f*ck Cinderella (not sister Jean tho, I was raised catholic and I’m not messing with that lady lol)

“Where’s my elephant!?!”

“Where’s my elephant!?!”

Good for her. I remember when

Good for her. I remember when she played in the WNBA for the New York team. I also remember her being hired by the Spurs a few years back, and if she’s done this well for herself, under one of the greatest coaches of all time, she deserves her shot. She obviously knows the game, she’s been Pop’s top assistant for a while now.

I was impressed when the

I was impressed when the other day my dog figured out how to get out of a locked crate. After reading this I’m just so disappointed she never made something of her talents and smarts. I mean Wags became a damn Admiral! In all seriousness though, great story.

Thanks. That makes more

Thanks. That makes more sense. There’s no way in hell I’d pay for the right to stream a channel I already have to pay for

Is this only for people who

Is this only for people who don’t have the cable login credentials? Or is this a standalone service for people who only stream and don’t have cable? For example if u pay for HBO on your cable package, you can use your cable provider login to access HBOGo for free. Basically every major tv channel now has an app you can use for streaming, as long as your cable package has that channel in it.
