OUCH!

I'm a Miami grad and a Dolphins fan...

Pees and Shanahan would be

Pees and Shanahan would be incredible hires! Davis would be good and I'd be very happy. Anderson is a Harbaugh guy so if Jim wants him I'd want him. Eh for Leavitt

It's not the middle of the season

They're added when school starts

Many old school O Line guys swear by putting your best guy at Center. Can make such a difference in the run game.

Sportscenter did a Top 10

Sportscenter did a Top 10 Blake Griffin Dunks of his career and #1 was when he jammed on Novak and put his nuts in his face.

Funchess

Saints get Seattle's 1st round 31st overall pick... Funchess to replace Jimmy??

You’re definitely glad he

You’re definitely glad he wasn’t retained? You don’t know him or anything he has or hasn’t contributed to the program. The reason Mo hired him and Carr, RR, and Hoke all retained him is because he’s an incredible person, a great recruiter, and a very good coach. Every player loves him and he’s been a father figure to 25 years worth of Michigan football players. I’m a coach so I’m slightly biased but there is so much more that goes into the program  than RB yards per carry, which was excellent for many years until recently (which if you haven’t noticed, was majorly in part to the struggles of the offensive line). This may come off as harsh, but you’re not really qualified to have an opinion on if he should have been retained or not.

OT and obviously not thread worthy

but does anyone know the correct spelling of our new DFO Colonel Jim Min[n]ick? I've seen it spelled both ways all over the internet and the directory search that we all know and love has a James / Jim Minick as well as a James / Jim Minnick. I'm working on a story so if anyone could point me in the direction of something official about him it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

You just made that up. The

You just made that up. The pro style punt is still very much used and it's about 50/50 in all levels of college football. It's a philosophy just like offense or defense. Stanford's offense in 2010 worked just as well as Oregon's this year. If coached well and executed well, then you will have a lot of success. If the gunners, wings, and tackles fan out correctly then it makes no difference.

There is always a need to

There is always a need to check others out. Hackett better be willing to walk down 100 dead ends to find the perfect fit.

I completely agree with you

I completely agree with you and think you said that perfectly. If that's the accepted definition of a Michigan Man, then I hope like hell every coach is a Michigan Man. However the definition IMO has been highly skewed. I feel like a lot of people have been interpreting it as needing someone who has been here before which I think is detrimental to the success of the whole athletic program.

The michigan man thing is

The michigan man thing is horrible. It narrows the pool of legitimate candidates by a lot and it's perfectly in line with the athletic department wide arrogance.

I'm really not happy with the arrogance and the stubbornness of the program. The phrase "this is Michigan" has done way more harm than good by bringing complacency and entitlement. They expected winning to be handed to them on a platter just because they're Michigan.

Disagree.

It's not patently false at all. When the game was close and we were able to call mix down plays with balance we were able to move the ball against anyone. A downside of the defense giving up points on every single drive is you have to play catch up and you become unbalanced.

Not saying I disagree - I

Not saying I disagree - I probably would go for it. But as a coach, I have to say t's A LOT different when your career and family's well being is on the line. This is a profession where you get fired for losing games and your kids have to move schools.

I think the message the past

I think the message the past few weeks has been that they're all getting reps everywhere. Magnuson, Braden, and Dawson have been playing guard and tackle for sure.

A lot of Jake Butt doing

A lot of Jake Butt doing combo drills with Mags that looked pretty close to full speed.

I can't wait for tomorrow.

Magnuson is hilarious. He had me cracking up at fan day and I find myself laughing everytime I hear him interview.

Rangers are effing fast.

Rangers can fly and if the goalie plays like he has all year then they have a chance against anybody

How did Brand not at least

How did Brand not at least say hi to Jon!!??

Coach Nuss' niece plays water polo for Michigan. Not his daughter

GO BLUE!!!!!!

I just realized why I always loved the Smurfs. All blue and fought against Ohio's head basketbal coach, Gargamel.

Jordan Morgan

I know Jordan Morgan was in engineering and always read about how smart he is but I have never really heard him speak before. Jordan is extremely well spoken and I'm very proud of how he embraced his role on this year's team. He's excited about being a leader and being a force in the middle of the defense.  The high tide really raises all boats but his attitude is a major reason why he's been successful. GO BLUE!

I believe it is. A friend who

I believe it is. A friend who is a student-trainer told me after the game that he had a badly sprained ankle and during the game they thought it may have been broken which is why a) they didn't want to go into overtime and b) they didn't roll him out on the 2-PT play.

I agree... However, we'll see

I agree... However, we'll see what happens when Texas (undoubtedly the best job in CFB) offers $4M a year. As of now my bet is Art Briles to the Longhorns and Steve Sarkisian back to USC.

No joke I was asked to remove

No joke I was asked to remove my red tshirt at the 2011 coach's clinic. A student manager came up to me with a Michigan tshirt and asked me to change.

Brandon's words could be

Brandon's words could be motivating, they have a little sting to them. On the other hand, I just don't see how Hoke's quote could give motivate them at all.

Kind of irrelevant but it

Kind of irrelevant but it seems like Russell Bellomy knew Polo. He wrote this on his facebook page this morning:

"Can't believe the news i received about Polo Manukainiu this morning. As an opponent, I had the upmost respect for him. I cannot imagine the level of respect he warranted from his friends, family and teammates. My heart goes out to his loved ones, Texas A&M and Trojan Nation. RIP Polo"

The replies to that tweet

The replies to that tweet make me sick. "Pull over we don't need another tragedy" and "you never texted me back". Puts it into reality.

Anyone else notice Kevin

Anyone else notice Kevin Koger in the Campbell/Hoke picture? Is he coaching? Maybe a GA?

I did some amateur investigative work

It seems like each player is wearing their high school number in this pic. I wouldn't read into it.

OP identified Mason Cole he's

OP identified Mason Cole he's talking about the other # 52 far right

Yep!

Pretty shocked that this wasn't posted here yet.. MgoPeople usually love this stuff, had to share. I think I've caught the bug of this video... I've shared it with almost everyone I know.

 Ross-Ade is worse than

Ross-Ade is worse than Eastern, Central, and Western. Purdue has no landscape, an awful half-beige half-golden brown color is shaped like a toilet bowl and the grass looks awful.

I've been to so many games in

True. I've been to so many games in the Big House. I've only been to PSU for the 2010 night game white out against M and I was blown away. I thought it was amazing how big it was but also that it was an NFL style stadium. Vendors, an upper deck, etc. It was like an NFL stadium that seats 100k.

Been to every Big Ten Stadium

My Stadium Rankings:

1) Penn State 2) Michigan 3) Kinnick 4) Nebraska 5) Camp Randall... Ross-Ade at Purdue is by far the worst

The APR score is for the

The APR score is for the single year. The four year rolling score is for sanctions to show a "problem" if there are repeatedly low scores. It's their second year so you're right that they can't really have a hit if they did poorly but it's a great accomplishment that they had a perfect score for the year.

No link. Nothing official but some hall-mates (trainers/managers) definitely thought it to be real.

Earning Numbers

On the topic of earning numbers, rumors were swirling months ago that DG switched from 7 (which he wore thought high school) to 12 so Shane wouldn't come right in and be entitled to "his number".

Very misleading

I listened to Drake on the Huge Show. Sounds like they gave him the same pitch as every WR. Showed a highlight of #1s then said "you could be next". Hoke would NEVER promise it to an incoming freshman

Very minimal but I'm pretty

Very minimal but I'm pretty sure the first pic shows our defensive line in a 4-3 OVER front not under. The shade is away from the tight end and the 3 tech is towards the tight end.

Jack Miller

I really am impressed with all of our players who always seem intelligent and great kids, however,  based on this interview I was extremely impressed at how well spoken Jack is. Sounds like he understands exactly what needs to happen for the OL to succeed and speaking from experience, it's damn near impossible to not sound like an idiot with the camera in your face.

Not to be a debby downer, but

Not to be a debby downer, but I honestly don't know how people can say we should be favored against High Point. Based on results alone, (not about development or how many recruiting classes or when they found out they were going to be D1) Michigan is severely over matched. High Point lost by 2 to Delaware and beat Towson. Unfortunately, we're in for another big loss.
