The coaches son was GIFTED a…

The coaches son was GIFTED a scholarship to Michigan and then treats the training staff like crap. It’s embarrassing to defend that. He should know better, and his actions got someone fired. Unlike Jace Howard, Sanderson is good at something.

Sounds like Jace has no…

Sounds like Jace has no problem shitting on lowly trainers doing their job. So I’m fine shitting on him. He’s an entitled brat who never deserved a scholarship at Michigan. He was a waste of a scholarship and his father is a horrible coach who decided his son was more important than the team.

Last year’s coaching…

Last year’s coaching performance is a bigger indictment of Howard’s capabilities.

Dickinson is a Wooden award finalist now, and has a legitimate chance to win it.

Bufkin and Jett were both first round picks.

In retrospect, Juwan had three of the top 25 players in the country on the roster last year. He didn’t even make the tournament. With that talent, you should be a 1-seed.

This feels like a failure of…

This feels like a failure of leadership on the part of Warde. He had two years to figure out that Harbaugh was leaving and failed to give him the contract he wanted. Then he failed to put in a contingency plan when he should have known that we’d get into a battle to keep staff. Sherrone has lost the majority of his staff at this point. We are late in the cycle and we are cheap. We will be left with crumbs at the end of this.

I had never seen Dixieland…

I had never seen Dixieland Delight before. The Alabama fans were really into it, and watching their fans go crazy when it came on had me thinking we were going to lose. The momentum in the Rose Bowl was tilted heavily toward the Tide at that moment, and their fans cheering that song fully reflected that. They looked very confident that the Tide would win. Admittedly, I thought it was a fun tradition and was a little jealous that they were probably going to win the game too. Then from the Michigan section the “Let’s Go Blue!” chant started quietly and grew. The rest is history. Honestly I will probably remember that moment more than the game itself.

Other than that, I’d say the crowd at 2021 OSU game willed the team to victory. Our fans were starving for a win over the Buckeyes that day. The team probably would have pulled it off anyway, but the crowd forced several false starts and allowed our pash rushers to get a quicker first step.

Another failure of Warde.

Another failure of Warde.

Warde’s statement reads like…

Warde’s statement reads like a CYA.

Warde is paid the big bucks…

Warde is paid the big bucks(over $1m per year) to hire and retain talent. He has failed at his job on multiple fronts. Lost Beilein, lost Bakich, and now lost Harbaugh. He failed at hiring a replacement for Beilein. He is the common denominator in all of this.

It’s also possible that…

It’s also possible that Harbaugh recommended Shaw to the Chargers. I could easily see a question coming up during the interview “what coaches that you’ve worked with in the past do you think may be good NFL coaches?”. I wouldn’t discount the idea that David Shaw was Harbaugh’s recommendation.

I like our chances.

1. We…

I like our chances.

1. We have the three highest PFF graded DBs that Washington will have faced all year.

2. Our O-Line and D-Line just bullied Bama.

3. Washington is built like OSU, but with fewer 5 stars.

4. Washington has won 8 one score games this year. They could easily be a 2 or 3 loss team right now if a few plays go differently.

5. The Washington offense has weaknesses and has played several games in the 20s. Michigan’s defense hasn’t allowed more than 24 points all year.

Michigan wins 31 to 20.

Cautiously optimistic.

Cautiously optimistic.

Washington has played 8 one score games this year. While you have to give them credit for prevailing, that is not particularly impressive and you would expect a team competing for a NC to be more dominant than that. I watched a lot of UW this year and they lived on a razors edge in several games.

Washington has also played several games in the 20s this year, and only scored 15 against a bad ASU team, half of which was because of a pick-6…their offense is good, but they are not the world beaters the media are making them out to be. We also have the three top DBs that Washington will have seen all year. We are built to stop passing offenses like OSU and Washington.

Deep passes have a high variance, sort of like three point shooting in basketball. If Washington connects on the deep ball it could be a long game. If we don’t make mistakes, I like our chances.

The Uncle T news is actually…

The Uncle T news is actually GREAT news for us. Stallions money didn’t come from coaching staff, came from this rando. We should be celebrating this small victory.

I’m starting to think the…

I’m starting to think the big winner in yesterday’s surrender is Warde Manuel. I think Warde wants Harbaugh gone, has wanted him gone for a while, and now gets a test run with Sherrone Moore. If Moore wins out, Warde can “justify” letting Harbaugh walk to the NFL. Harbaugh also loses leverage in the contracting of Moore wins out.  Sabotaging the legal case yesterday just makes it more likely Harbaugh leaves. If I had to bet, Harbaugh is back on the sidelines in 2024.

it was blatant roughing the punter.

Pinhead Pete at it again.

Pinhead Pete at it again.

Literally zero chance of a…

Literally zero chance of a TV ban, they won’t kill their own revenue. There might be a fine imposed on UM, but not a TV ban.

If they impose penalties,…

If they impose penalties, the first step would be to take the Big Ten logo off the jerseys. A silent “F You” to the conference and a signal that the team might consider a new conference. Speculation will be rampant. Don’t even need to issue a statement, let the lack of logo speak for itself.

Take them off all uniforms…

Take the B1G logo off all uniforms for all sports the rest of the year.

Wards is failing to do his…

Wards is failing to do his job. He has failed to introduce a counter narrative and had to wait for Santa to do so. Warde should have rescinded Nicole Auerbach’s press or field pass for example.

sounds like bullshit science…

sounds like bullshit science if you ask me.

Which two games? Not having…

Which two games? Not having him on the sidelines for OSU or PSU might be enough of a disadvantage to derail a perfect season.

Should sue WaPo, ESPN, and…

Should sue WaPo, ESPN, and WSJ for defamation while we are at it. All of those anonymous sources and investigative firms would be revealed.

Fire Warde. He’s had 11…

Fire Warde. He’s had 11 months to get this contract done. He sits on his lazy ass and does nothing.

Warde is a self-serving…

Warde is a self-serving politician who acts in his own interests. He issues generic CYA statements about cooperating that only protect himself rather than the football program. He never says anything to defend the football program or Harbaugh in a moment of controversy. He doesn’t rock the boat so he can protect his job security rather than risk defending the program amid scandal. He’s failing at his job by not pushing a counter narrative in the media.

Has Warde ever said one smart comment to defend Michigan in his entire career? No.

Most articles are fake news…

Most articles are fake news these days. Anonymous sources is just that. These people lie all the time for clicks.

Time to go on offense. We…

Time to go on offense. We should be able to search the databases for attendees in every seat to see if any coaches, staffers, brothers, sons, daughters, etc of other big ten universities attended any Michigan games. I guarantee OSU has been doing the same. Leave no stone unturned. Then announce it publicly and drop the mic.

I dislike this, and makes me…

I dislike this, and makes me less likely to go to games in the future… sitting next to drunks is a subpar experience.

It is the deepest d-line in…

It is the deepest d-line in the Harbaugh era, which is probably the most important characteristic. Goode and Benny would start on a lot of teams. The interior DL has three NFL quality guys and two solid starters. They’ve worn out offensive lines by rotating heavily to keep guys fresh, which pays dividends by the third quarter.

Agree, they are horrible and…

Agree, they are horrible and way over used. After every touchdown there is going to be some dumb light show? I’m fine if they do it a few times during time outs or half time, but after every touchdown is cringe.

This is stupid. And Warde is…

This is stupid. And Warde is stupid. We fired Steve Fisher, arguably the best basketball coach in school history, and the NCAA still punished us mercilessly. Do we ever learn?

Not a fan of this, as…

Not a fan of this, as Michigan will have at least 1-2 trips out west every year and that hasn’t gone well historically. I also think Oregon and Washington add little to the prestige of the conference. They are middle of the pack programs at best.

You know what’s a dumb idea?…

You know what’s a dumb idea? accepting a four game suspension for a damn burger when other organizations are getting away with a million times worse. Go on offense.

The power move would be to…

The power move would be to host a press conference condemning the NCAA in entirety. North Carolina faked an entire academic program for its athletes and got zero punishment. Time to go on offense. Warde is too lazy to hold a press conference while he keeps collecting those paychecks.

Has he handled the…

Has he handled the turbulence or caused the turbulence? As the leader of the program he’s responsible for all aspects of. it, including managing personalities and egos. I don’t think he should get credit for filling out the roster, that’s like getting a participation trophy. I also don’t think admissions is a big obstacle as this hash’t prevented Harbaugh from getting top notch transfers. Getting wins is what is ultimately going to redeem Juwan’s resume.

Was that actually his…

Was that actually his opinion? Or just cherry-picking the worst possible interpretation? Because I don’t read the liked tweet as an endorsement of Jim Crow, but a condemnation of the welfare state.

It’s not a good thing to…

It’s not a good thing to have two first rounders on our roster and make the NIT. Sorry, that’s an indictment on coaching not a success story.

Selling them on a second…

Selling them on a second round NIT exit?

Beilein won games with those…

Beilein won games with those guys before they left.

Why can’t Juwan convince…

Why can’t Juwan convince anyone to stay an extra year?

Houstan, Diabate, Hunter, Kobe, Jett

Do players feel like they won’t develop under Howard? Or perhaps he is a difficult personality in practice? Convincing them to stay is part of the job too.

Also the fact that Howard has had 4 NBA first rounders on the roster in the last two years and seriously underachieved with them is not encouraging. If you have two first rounders, and an all Big Ten center you should always make the tournament, and yet he failed.

Howard has underperformed with a surplus of talent the last two years. Next year he will have a talent deficit for the first time as coach. I’m not expecting much from the team.

Interesting quote, and I…

Interesting quote, and I still think Warde should be held accountable for Beilein leaving. Sorry, he is an executive who took a big boy job that pays $1.1m per year. His job is largely to manage relationships and retain talent at key positions. He was caught off guard by Beilein leaving. He bears responsibility for that because his salary says so. That’s the nature of jobs like that - no excuses.

Also do you really think Beilein was going to throw Warde under the bus in an interview? Really? He’s not that kind of guy. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him speak negatively about anyone in an interview. I do think he may have privately resented Warde stepping on his toes over the Spike Albrecht transfer and forcing him to apologize, but that’s speculation.

Name one great accomplishment of Warde’s in his tenure here. I’ll wait.

I will vouch for Anson’s…

I will vouch for Anson’s credibility here for anyone doubting. Anson was instrumental in getting Jim Harbaugh to return to Ann Arbor. He’s not the type to pull this out of nowhere.  Todd is close to Jim, so I trust he indeed asked for Harbaugh’s permission to post this. He has no reason to make this up. He does have a reason to advocate for his friend though (and perhaps throw Warde under the bus) and that’s what this document is clearly intended to accomplish.

Cornerback can definitely…

Cornerback can definitely make or break a defense. Teams with one weak cornerback need to overcompensate with safeties which is something teams can exploit. Michigan has had some great defenses get exposed because of an inexperienced cornerback. I imagine Sainristil will play some cornerback as well this year.

Any boss is judged by the…

Any boss is judged by the talent they retain. Losing Beilein and Harbaugh reflects poorly on his ability to retain top talent. It could be that they both truly wanted to go pro regardless of Warde’s management. Alternatively it might be that Warde’s management or lack of perceived support pushed them both out the door. Michigan is a destination job, and to have two legendary coaches leave in short order reflects poorly on the common denominator.

Harbaugh is ruining his…

Harbaugh is ruining his legacy here minute by minute. It’s not what he’s doing, but how he’s doing it that is the problem. One minute he issues statement saying he will be back, the next minute he is out interviewing. He needs to come out with a strong statement saying you’ll come back like Bo did after Texas A&M offered him a boatload of cash, otherwise these talks are going to continue.

Also, Warde should be fired if Harbaugh leaves.

We won the Big Ten…

We won the Big Ten Championship and that’s something no one can take away. That’s a damn good result that the team can hang their hat on. We would have killed for a conference championship a few years ago.  The ranking is absolutely meaningless. You get nothing for second place in this sport, it’s not the Olympics.

He’s going to get some reps…

He’s going to get some reps as a wide receiver.

Michigan may also utilize formations with two running backs at times. Edwards will get 10+ touches per game.

I could also see Edwards doing kick returns as an additional way to get the ball. I think his straight line speed would make him very dangerous as a returner, although that exposes him to higher risk of injury.

We don’t know that he lied…

We don’t know that he lied to investigators, he might have just stonewalled them and they got pissed off.

That’s the nature of…

That’s the nature of executive jobs, he owns the results completely even if it is simply bad luck. In this case it is actually his fault.

Warde doing nothing is not…

Warde doing nothing is not the same as level headedness. He has yet to say anything supportive of Harbaugh. He could do so in a tactful way that makes it seem like we are complying with the NCAA investigation, but also make the NCAA look ridiculous. An AD should be able to thread the needle here.
