That’s not really accurate.

That’s not really accurate.

Yes, international students are allowed on campus employment, but as he is not “employed” by the university this doesn’t fall underneath the current USCIS regulations regarding his visa status. Maybe down the road the immigration regulations will change, but that is opening up a giant can of worms as the number of international students who are athletes is incredibly low. I’d be surprised to see any updates on this anytime soon as this opens up a can of worms for regarding international students and unauthorized employment.

Good list.

Good list.

Franklin’s name pops up whenever a big job opens up.

Helton is one plain average year from being replaced.

Frost hasn’t improved Nebraska at all.

Mullen has angered UF admin per reports and wants to go pro

Chip Kelly hates college

Then there’s FSU who could pull the plug on Norvell if things are bad.

Tennessee is looking for a reason to get rid of Pruit.

Kansas, Syracuse, Houston, Cal, TTU, Duke, and Cal could makes changes or have coaches retire.

Best case scenario is that…

Best case scenario is that Michigan bounces back and is competitive in the B10 title chase again, then NFL teams come sniffing around and Harbaugh bolts.

Worst case scenario is that Michigan gets blown out to OSU and we deal with this “is he getting fired or staying on” for months every off season.

This was the right time to move in a different direction. Half the staff wasn’t under contract and Harbaugh had one year left, the buyouts would have been ideal compared to Texas and Auburn. Plus this was a non competitive job market, meaning Michigan could’ve been patient finding their next coach. The next year will likely be crazy on the coaching carousel, so it’ll be harder to conduct a search because 2020 will push everything back for most schools.

Spot on.

Throughout the pandemic a lot of priorities have been screwed up. I think our inability to make rational sacrifices to try and slow down the transmission of a highly contagious virus has made everything a 1000 times worse.

Using precious resources to ensure players and personal remain safe for a glorified exhibition football season is kind of ridiculous. Why isn’t the guy stocking groceries or those working in meat packing plants getting daily testing? They are FAR more important to our everyday lives.

All of this is a moot point now but..... What a wild recruitment. At what point did he say that Alabama led by a wide margin? Was that after the Army game? He certainly trolled Alabama big time if he had already secretly re-committed to Michigan.
Good lord! This is huge! Good lord! This is huge!
I'll admit that I've lost a I'll admit that I've lost a little faith on the offensive side of the ball. The second half of the season looked like we were trudging through mud at times. The Peppers package never materliazed into anything useful or creative. The run game showed flashes but was ultimately average, and I felt like Speight never took the Rudock developmental leap that we all thought would happen. But.....two straight 10 win seasons is great considering where we were 3 seasons ago. I haven't abandoned hope that Harbaugh is the right guy for the job. I'd just like to see us pull even with some of the elites of college football, i.e. beating OSU next year.
Wasn't Taggart on Harbaugh's Wasn't Taggart on Harbaugh's Stanford staff? The recruiting landscape shouldn't be that foreign for him. I think he'll do just fine.
Honest question. Is WD just Honest question. Is WD just some super fan? Or did he actually go to the university?
There's nothing wrong with There's nothing wrong with competition. The SEC has cornered the market on the crazy and ridiculous when it comes to recruiting. Now that Harbaugh and others are pushing back trying to even the playing field everyone is losing it like this is sacrilegious conduct.
Who is actually invited to

Who is actually invited to this thing? I'm a UM student and only heard about the event, but no one seems to know how/who is invited.

I guessed an 8-9 win season,

I guessed an 8-9 win season, with Utah, BYU, MSU, Penn State, and Ohio State being the toughest opponents they'd face this year. The fact that they played hard, and were in every game (minus the OSU game) made me happy. Watching them out play a great Florida defense gave me good vibes for the future.

Saw it last night, and I'm Saw it last night, and I'm still letting it stew a little in this morning. It was better then then the prequels, but then again that's some pretty low hanging fruit. A few observations I had. -When will the "bad" guys stop building giant freaking planet destroying space stations? It didn't work the first time, or second time, and shockingly didn't work the third time either. Would have been refreshing to see the empire not completely drop the ball at the end. -Too many characters. There was four new main characters, combined with Han, Leia, Chewy, a tenth of Luke, and a handful of supporting characters. -I would've liked it if JJ had slowed down and explained what was happening in the universe instead of moving from planet to planet, and fight to fight. How did the first order come to power? What was the difference between the resistance and the republic? I realize a lot of that might be in the new books, but a lot of people don't read those. -Finn was great, and had some great lines. He and "Solo's" chemistry was great. -As a grown man let me say that BB-8 was the cutest thing I've seen. Fantastic design. -Poor Max Van Syndow, I felt like there was a lot more to his story that we'll never see. -The ending had me choked up, but left me hanging, and not in a good way. Does everything have to be a mystery to JJ Abrahams? Seriously, there's like half a dozen story lines that he left hanging throughout the movie. I get that you don't want to spill all the beans and leave nothing for the sequels, but I'm feeling like he's writing some serious checks that he can't cash. Rey's parentage. Who's Snoke? Luke's story. What about the Knight's of Ren? Etc . This better not turn into Lost, where the fan theories proved far superior to the actual plot.
"Do you have to pay to play?" "Do you have to pay to play?" -Yes "Do they win something?" -Yes 'Then it's gambling." -Joe Namath
Auto-correct, I apologize if Auto-correct, I apologize if you're that offended.
I was one of the lucky 200

I was one of the lucky 200 hundred students who got there early enough to grab a spot down on the field. A few of my observations (although I will add that with my position it was hard too see everything clearly): Seemed like Ruddock and Morris took a majority of the "game simulation" snaps, Ruddock looked a little more polished than Morris. However I really liked Morris' swagger coming out and doing the drills. He acted like a starting quarterback. But the offense seemed to run smoother under Ruddock. Got to see Wilson Speight in action, I thought he looked good, but not as polished as the others. Speight and Gentry are really tall, I had to do a double check a number of times. Feels like they should be playing power forward, not quarterback. I liked Gentry's composure during drills, he seems like a guy who's going to have a high ceiling. Didn't see Malzone during the "game simulation", although I thought I saw him holding the ball during field goals.(Not 100% sure) No pictures were allowed, they made it clear you'd be kicked out. They were still yelling at people after practiced ended. A personal note, I almost got run over when one of Ruddock's passes went sailing through the corner of the endzone. Also got to see Harbaugh with a headset on, and there was a ton of khaki shorts worn by the staff. Many of us were commenting on the sudden uptrend in fashion. Sorry I don't have more detail, I did see a couple of students who had a notepad and binoculars, they came prepared, so hopefully they post here.

I heard he took a paycut

I heard he took a paycut after a bad fiscal year awhile back, that shows a level of character that is missing in western bussiness, While I don't have as much time for video games anymore, I'll always root for Nintendo!

All these kick outs have me All these kick outs have me thinking that reigns will "overcome" the odds. Ala john cena.
So far its been surprisingly

So far its been surprisingly low key. But I've heard that this has more to do with how open the new 49ers stadium is then the crowd.

I'm enjoying "Axelmania", but I'm enjoying "Axelmania", but I could see that happening.
Ugh. Now they're breaking up Ugh. Now they're breaking up Lana/rusev. Its a little early for that.
A heel turn could be big A heel turn could be big money if executed correctly, but I don't think that the WWE has the guts to pull that trigger. Cena is too entwined with the PG image the company wants to give off.
The more I watch the more I'm

The more I watch the more I'm certain that Reigns will win. This crowd isn't as hot and smarky as I was expecting, meaning Reigns will go over without much heat.

Scary thought

I've read that Bray Wyatt is hurt, and might not be able to go tonight. This guy on squared circle (reddit) who is supposedly connected says that sheamus is the back up plan. http://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/30q5y5/bray_wyatt_injure…

I'll be happy if he doesn't I'll be happy if he doesn't show up. He essentially became a PG version Fit Finley. But doesn't he have a nickname, like Red something? Or Crimson something? Without hair how's that going to work?
Predictions Daniel Bryan (Or a Shamus run in costing him the title) Bella Twins Triple H Undertaker Cena (Lock of the night) Seth Rollins Roman Reigns (Vince is just to predictable, and they've been pushing Reigns way too hard to divert now. Although I'm pulling for a Brock win, or at least a Seth Rollins cash in.)
We just need some JR commentary to top off this swerve.

Here you go! Great gif by the way.

I'd upvote you if I could.

Current Student.

I'm not sure about the other singing groups on campus, but I would check out this site, http://studentlife.umich.edu/. You might be able to find a list of current student groups. If that doesn't work out, check out the UofM subreddit, http://www.reddit.com/r/uofm/search?q=uofm&sort=relevance&restrict_sr=o… Everyone on there has been pretty helpful considering its reddit.

The 23 Most Painfully Awkward Things That Happened In 2014

The pool continues to shrink I really hope that Hackett knows what he's doing, while his search may be deliberate, the candidate pool is getting smaller. What happens if Mullen, Harbaugh(s), Miles, etc.. are off the table?
This is better than network television! I’m not going to lie, but I find all of this entertaining. The countless NFL sources who say that he’s not going back to college, because that’s not what successful NFL coaches do. The Michigan “insiders”, who throw out their rumblings behind a paywall. Or the sports radio guy who either is on the athletic department’s payroll, or has retrofitted a Deloreon and has hover boarded his way through the future. Let’s throw in the guy from Reddit who knows someone, who knows someone that says the deal has been done for a month. At this point I’m likely to believe that guy more, because he’s not trying to sell you anything, and his only benefit is useless karma. At this point the only telltale sign is going to be time. I imagine that JH will be courteous enough to let Michigan know that they’re wasting their time if he’s not interested. And I hope that Michigan is smart enough not to place their eggs in one basket. Until then, I’ll keep throwing back the popcorn, and enjoying the show. After all, if these “insiders” keep throwing crap against the wall, something is likely to stick.
Agreed!

Niether of these guys are a "sexy" hire like Meyer was.

Sarcasm

Dumb and Dumber?? Anyone? I was trying to be funny because OP mentioned how rare the jump from DIII to DI is. If I only knew how to insert gifs, I could be swimmimg in laughs right now.

Bob Stitt?

So you're telling me there's a chance.

I’m a pessimist. It seems like a lot of people are in the “Harbaugh or Bust” mentality, and I can’ say that I blame them, he really is the only sure fire grand slam coaching candidate out there. But…I remain pessimistic that he’s coming to Ann Arbor, for a guy that was one power outage away from winning the Super Bowl I can’t help but feel like there is unfinished business in the NFL. It appears that he has the upper hand in any negotiations about his future, he could flat out refuse to get traded to a crappy team, and hold out for a team with potential, or stay with SF. Correct me if I’m wrong but are coaching contracts the same as player contracts? For example, if the NY Jets traded for him when he flat out refused to work there how could they force him to honor his contract? While I would be thrilled if it happened, I remain skeptical that Jim is plotting his return. There are just way too many pieces, and unknown factors.
Bowl Game against KSU

After the OSU game I thought he could pull of some solid momentum for the bowl game as well as the 14 season. However after watching the team looked so unprepared against a middle of the road B12 team, my doubts were cemented. I really questioned him during the UConn, Akron, PSU, and MSU games, but the KSU game was a dud. I got bad vibes from the Brandon manifesto, and once isaw the performance in the bowl game I was done. Although to be fair, I was never in love with him.

After RR beat Oregon, someone

After RR beat Oregon, someone on this board made a long post about why the win wasn't a big deal. Someone would comment that "it was so Michigan of someone to write a post like that". That comment would perfectly apply here.

Way.....

To generous with the offensive points, I can't see Michigan scoring 3+ touchdowns on anyone left on the schedule. The offense has no energy, and that's not going to improve as this season wears on. Mentally, physically, and emotionally this team is drained.

How would one go about upvoting?

Great comment!

Man, I forgot about their

Man, I forgot about their letter jacket days.

I'm not going to bat for the guy, but....

He's had a winning record at every school he's been at.

Arkansas St was 4-8 the two years before he took over. 11-1 his first (and only) year.

Ole MIss was 24-26 in his four years before Freeze took over, including a 2-10 recrod his final season. Since, they're 20-11, that's pretty great when you consider that they're in the SEC West.

So if he's a great guy what does it matter?

His recruiting ranking per rival have been:

2012- #40

2013-#7

2014- #19

I'm not sure I'm seeing the connection.

*Edited for spelling

Hmm?

According to the yahoo sports article it's believed Freeze has nothing to do with it, and it's focused on the previous staff. So.... Am I missing something?

How come no one has mentioned...

Hugh Freeze? I get that he is basically the embodiment of the south, but his track record speaks for itself. 50-18 as a head coach, and 20-11 at Ole Miss. From my vantage that's fantastic.

What about some pro coaches? Greg Roman seems like a solid coordinator with a good record, downside is no HC expierence.

Mike Tomlin? He has some college coaching expierence in his early career, plus he has a Super Bowl ring*, I think that would cancle out any questions about his lack of recruiting. Plus his Steelers have been pretty average the last few years. Poachable? Not likely, but worth a shot.

*Charlie Weis used that in recruiting as well.
