Family size does matter.  We have one that we use almost daily, however, it's one of the small basket types, and it's only my wife and I so it works great.  We use it to crisp up veggies to go with our meals most days.
The basket types are pretty easy to clean as well.  Fill about 1/3 with water and add a few drops of dish soap. run it on the highest temp for a few minutes and then rinse everything out.  very little scrubbing that way.  The one we have wouldn't be great for a large family though.  It's capacity just isn't large enough.

I respectfully disagree with you on this.  The Big 10 just laned a huge TV deal based on the ratings of the conference's TV ratings.

The TV ratings by team has Ohio State at 1 and Michigan at 3, and I can imagine that the networks that just paid all of that money for those ratings are going to let the NCAA kill the viewership of either of those teams.  I wouldn't be surprised if the networks put their foot down about whatever punishment they want to give Harbaugh due to his eccentricities driving up interest to non-Michigan fans.
I would bet the networks are panicking over this more than the University of Michigan is. This is just my opinion based on how the almighty dollar drives results.

Adding a shot clock to high school basketball.  haha.  I am still bitter that my kids HS team got eliminated 2 years in a row because one of the teams was good at playing keep away once they got a lead.  Final scores in their playoff games were something like 43 - 40 and the opposing team would keep possession of the ball for as much as 3 minutes at a time.

Cincinnati has a lot of Michigan fans as well.  When I moved here I was surprised by the amount of Michigan gear I saw on people in this area.  I have several friends in Cinci that grew up here and didn't go to college but are big Michigan fans.

When I first arrived I thought they must all be Moler high school kids (Same colors and M logo) but was pleasantly surprised when I heard the amount of "Go Blue!" calls when I walk around the city.

I agree.  I've had Falken tires on my Jeep for the last 5 years and have loved them.  Much quieter than the mud tires that were on it when I got the Jeep and have lasted longer.  I'm sure it helps that I went with all terrain vs mud, but I've been pleased.

I find it mind boggling how many people post on almost every single thread that "This should not be a thread," especially in the OT season.  I don't post much, however, I do come to this board every single day and read the board.  If every thread that someone thinks should not be a thread was removed there just wouldn't be enough content to keep me coming back regularly.

My bad.  Replied to the wrong post.

I'm a Quality Engineer for a large software company and just recently started using Python to code our Selenium test scripts.  Unfortunately all of the training materials that we use are internal to the company so I can't share.

I will say, however, that if you have a basic knowledge of programming logic it is really simple to learn.  When I was introduced to programming in 2011 at University of Cincinnati we used Java and C#.  In my opinion, Python is simpler to follow, but keep in mind everyone has a preference.  At my company we can use either Eclipse or Pycharm to write our code.

Somehow I think this would…

Somehow I think this would be considered an NCAA level 1 violation, but only for Michigan.  It ranks right up there with cheeseburgers.  It would be pushing Michigan really close to death penalty level infractions!

From my experience when he…

From my experience when he was at University of Cincinnati while he was president he is very active with his own accounts.  He does have people who do socials for him, but from what I heard from classmates, students that held student worker positions in the admin office they all start with him, and it wasn't unusual that he just grab his phone and fire off a tweet.

When I would see him around campus (and he was very visible on campus) he gave off the smart, cool uncle vibe. It wasn't uncommon for students to be sitting around in a study group on a nice day and see Santa walk up to the group, strike up a conversation and ask if he could sit with them for a few minutes to discuss sports, class loads, campus activities, what they were working on, clubs,  favorite professors, etc.

The man was loved and there was a lot of people who were truly sad to see him go, even in the student body, which to me is unheard of. When I got my first degree, I couldn't have even told you what the president's name was.

I don't watch many NFL games…

I don't watch many NFL games, but watched the Bengals Ravens game last night.  At the end of the game I realized John manages his time outs just like Jim does.  Down by a touchdown with 2 minutes left and just lets the clock run.  I don't believe he started using his TOs until there was well under a minute left in the game.  I was shocked (I really wasn't).

I love Jim, but one of my biggest gripes is how he handles time in close games.

My guess is these are they…

My guess is these are they type of people who, after a national championship win, would say, "But what does it matter if you can't do what Alabama has done and win it almost every year?"

I am 100% of the opinion…

I am 100% of the opinion that this is more related to what punishment the NCAA hands down for this idiotic burger-gate nonsense.  I feel that he would prefer to be at Michigan based on the trajectory that the team is on, however, if he get more than a 1 game suspension while other top tier teams got nothing for far greater infractions he will leave if an NFL offer comes.

I have nothing to base this speculation on other than it seem like something that would sour him on coaching at the university level to the point that he would take any NFL job he could get.

My pessimism is part of my…

My pessimism is part of my good luck ritualistic superstitions that has worked well for me over the last 2 years.  Going into every big game over the last 2 years in my mind I am screaming, "I'm just not sure they have enough to win this!"

The one game in the last 2 seasons that I did not go in with a pessimistic mind set (MSU 2021) they lost and I take full responsibility for that.  I will admit that I don't follow recruiting enough to have been angry about where the recruiting class was ranked this year though.

I know this is very late,…

I know this is very late, but I just saw it.  I don't disagree.  It was a stupid oversight by a 21 YO me, and a mistake I haven't made in the almost 30 years since.

FWIW - This could be as…

FWIW - This could be as simple as an oversight mistake.  When I was young and dumb I was headed to the range in Ohio (before the concealed license) and got pulled over for a rolling stop.  I had an SUV and my guns were clearly visible in the back as the cop walked up.  I was cited for the failure to stop and he inspected the guns.  I had removed the mags and stored them separately per the law, but I forgot about the round in the chamber in one of my pistols.

I was lucky that the officer saw it as what it was, a stupid oversight and let me off the hook.  He did have every right to charge me with a felony according to the law at the time.

I'm not saying this is what happened in this case, but it is an example of how easy it is to accidentally commit a weapons felony if you simply forget yourself for a split second.  I've heard of people who open carry getting busted because they didn't realize that their shirt came untucked (at least that is the defense they used).  This should go without saying, but you have to be hyper-aware when you are dealing with firearms because it is too easy to break the law without even realizing you are doing it.

I do think the "hang 100"…

I do think the "hang 100" comment had a major influence on the changes in the Michigan mindset.  It does seem that occasionally someone in a program says something that lights a fire in a program that leads to a new way to look at a rivalry, especially when it has been incredibly one sided for a long stretch.

My opinion is the "Little brother" comment had the same effect on Sparty leading to a new determination to beat Michigan each year.  Similarly I think the "Hang 100" was the catalyst that sparked this new outlook on The Game and the results speak for themselves.

Back when Hart made the little brother comment I didn't like it. I felt that Day's comment was going to have a similar result.

I used to enjoy duck and…

I used to enjoy duck and goose hunting far more than I enjoyed deer hunting.  I always got board, and it never felt safe because I hunted public land near Jackson, MI. It always seemed crowded.

In the 20 or so years that I did deer hunt I took one shot at a buck running at a full sprint through the clearing I was watching.  While duck hunting there was a lot more shooting involved and I found it more enjoyable.  Unfortunately my good friend that I used to duck hunt with passed away suddenly about 15 years ago and it just lost it's appeal after that.  Maybe if I knew other hunters and trusted them I would pick it up again, but it's not something that's even on my mind anymore.  I fully support anyone that does hunt though.

This is true if you are only…

This is true if you are only looking at it from a sports blog perspective, but he works very hard on the academic side as well.  Think of it as doing all of the things for academics that previous presidents have done, but adding a master of PR using sports and any other modern tool at his disposal to promote the university as a whole.  That's the vibe I got when he was president at Cincinnati.

In academics, UC is no Michigan by any stretch of the imagination, but I believe they did climb the rankings a bit during his tenure.

Santa Ono is just an awesome…

Santa Ono is just an awesome University President where ever he's been.  When I got my last degree at University of Cincinnati he was the president.  You see that the man truly loves his job, and goes all in on all aspects of the universities that he leads.  Hell, he even took one of the most boring 4 hours of life in college, the commencement ceremony, and made it fun.  He was encouraging people to get loud, post their pics with a hashtag, dance to the band music, etc.  I couldn't tell you a single detail about my other commencements that I have been a part of, but I have vivid memories of this one.

He always attended sporting events, revenue and non-revenue sports.  He mingled with the students and athletes.  It wasn't uncommon to get a high-five from Santa when you were walking across campus.  The man just gets it.  I was disappointed when he left UC, but now that he is leading Michigan it was all worth it.

I'm torn on Clemson/ND... …

I'm torn on Clemson/ND...  If one of the SEC teams goes undefeated in the regular season, I like the idea of Michigan/Clemson in the 2/3 matchup in the playoffs.  On the other hand, I hate the idea of OSU/Clemson in the 2/3 matchup if things don't go well in Columbus.

I wasn’t shocked, and as I…

I wasn’t shocked, and as I said my mistake was naming the breed, likely because I have included it in 3 reports with 3 different agencies over the last few days.  I wouldn’t have with a clear head. I saw my error 2 minutes into the thread and apologized.  I hope that is enough for those that were offended. If not I can’t/won’t offer anything else.

I’m not a vet or breed…

I’m not a vet or breed specialist. What I know is the owner said he was a pit when they moved in. He looks just like a pit just larger than any I’ve seen or been around in the past.

I posted this in the original forum, and it immediately got buried 4 pages down.  I felt bad for how things digressed and wanted to make sure it was seen.

We have some appointments…

We have some appointments set up with a couple next week.  There is still a chance for complications with my dog's health and we aren't comfortable leaving her home alone yet. We want to give her a bit more time to recover before we start leaving her home alone again.

The other bad part of this whole ordeal is that my wife and I were scheduled to travel to Chicago on Friday so she could run the Chicago Marathon on Sunday.  Due to this event I will now have to stay home while a friend accompanies my wife to the race.

She considered dropping out, but I told her she has trained too hard, and running calms you.  Go run your race, and I will be watching through the app and cheering you on.

That's not the point. The…

That's not the point. The point is that by naming the breed it completely overshadowed the point I wanted to make.  Contact your state rep if you live in Ohio.

Thanks for that, and that is…

Thanks for that, and that is exactly the way I feel.  I have 3 dogs, Charlie (Full name Charlotte) is a 3 year old lab mix.  We got her as a pup but has been a very scared and anxious dog from the beginning.  As responsible owners we identified the issue early on with her interaction with our other dogs so we took her to training weekly and after a year and thousands of dollars got her to the point that she was starting to trust.

Because of what we know about our dog we took care to make sure she was always on her leash and most of our walks were always around our yard.  On occasion I would take her to the local dog park if I happened to pass it and noticed it was empty, but knowing my dog, if others began to show up we always leashed and moved outside of the fence.

We had just gotten to the point recently after 3 years that she wouldn't panic if we were outside of the dog park fence and another dog came to sniff her through the fence.  We were making baby steps as they say.

My biggest worry other than her healing from her injuries properly is that we will be back at square one with the socialization training, and I'm not sure she will ever be able to work back to a point where she can be around other dogs outside our our own.

My brother has a pit and he is a great dog, but my brother works from home like I do and gives his pit the attention and training that he needs.  My brother also put up appropriate fencing and the dog never leaves the property without a leash.  He put up the fence long before he adopted the dog because he knew the the liability would be steep if there was ever an issue.

Speaking honestly, the steps my brother and I have went through with our dogs should be taken with any dog regardless of breed.  I don't care if it's a 5lb yorkie like one of our other dogs.  The yorkie is the alpha of the 3 which is kind of funny.

I do too, but not for a…

I do too, but not for a sports blog.  I simply wanted this to be informational to the Ohio residents on the board.  If I would have given thing 30 more seconds to think it though I would have known to remove the breed from the discussion.

Simply by naming the breed (To be honest, I'm pretty sure it is a pit-mix due to it's enormous size) the point of my post was very much overshadowed by the breed debates.

Haha..  This kind of nailed…

Haha..  This kind of nailed how I felt as I read the debates on the thread.  haha

I want to apologize to the…

I want to apologize to the board.  I am not sorry for the post, but I am sorry for naming the breed of the attacking dog.  My intention was not to have the tread move into a breed debate. In my comments throughout this thread I have stated and stand by the fact that I do not support breed bans.  I do support the laws being changed to allow real action to be taken when an incident like this occurs.

After many years of reading and occasionally posting on this board I am aware that several members are residents of Ohio and if they found this to be concerning then to please contact your state rep.

If the admins choose to lock or take this down I fully understand. Maybe this wasn't the right place for this, but that being said, I did learn another course of action within the state law that I can follow up on so like I said, I apologize for naming the breed.

Look.  I'm sure it's hidden…

Look.  I'm sure it's hidden in the comments by now, but as I have said, I am not for banning breeds.  I know many pit bulls that are fine and well trained.  My anger stems from the fact that once an incident like this happens with a neglected untrained dog, nothing happens without a civil suit.

If you drive drunk, your car is impounded.  If you are negligent with your dog your and someone property is destroyed or damaged. your dog should be impounded. I'm not even saying put the dog down.  The dog should be impounded and evaluated.  My mistake in this thread was naming the breed that took things in a direction that I never intended.  I should have just said dog.

The point I was trying to make was that if you live in Ohio, and I know many members of this forum do, please contact your state representative if you are so inclined.

Exactly...  Thanks for the…

Exactly...  Thanks for the vote of confidence.  I went back and forth in my head about if I should post or not.  I finally decided that I would post for 2 reasons.  1) After years of reading the board here I knew that there are many Ohio residents that visit the board, and 2) There are many people far smarter than me that may be able to point me in a direction that I hadn't even considered since I haven't settled on an attorney yet.

Had the admins shut it down as soon as I posted, I would have understood and been fine with it.

Unfortunately, the human…

Unfortunately, the human thing to do and make sure the right things are done will not happen in this case without the courts being involved.  I don't want to say much, but in a brief discussion it was eluded to that the incident was my dogs fault, while on a leash, in my back yard.

Thank you for that.  I was…

Thank you for that.  I was stuck on section-955.11 which details vicious dogs. I will let my attorney know that we would like to pursue this action also.

I wasn't carrying at the…

I wasn't carrying at the time because I was in my pajamas and had left my weapon and cellphone on my dresser.  I was only going into my backyard after all. Since the dog had both me and my dog pinned down on the ground, I would hope I would have been justified in protecting myself. Even when I got out of from under the pile my arm was tangled in the leash between the dogs.  I was truly in fear, not only for my dog, but also for my life, and that's not something that I am saying to justify anything.  It was the honest to god truth.

I get what you are saying,…

I get what you are saying, don't get me wrong, but I am not on a lot of forums, and I know there are people in this forum that live in this state and may want to reach out to their state reps.

I do want to emphasize that…

I do want to emphasize that I am not in favor of breed bans.  Since this attack I have learned that in Ohio there are more cities, towns and villages with breed bans.  My theory is that this is due to the lack of options for the cities to do anything about them based on the insane state laws.

Couple that with young people who gravitate to these powerful dogs because they look tough and cool and portray an image of toughness that they hope to show.  The young people who gravitate toward these dogs usually have never owned or trained a dog before and would have difficulty teaching a yorkie proper behavior.

Based on how difficult it is in Ohio to even get a dog added to the vicious dog list the communities have no other choice than to ban a breed if they want to be pro-active against future attacks. This is purely speculation but it makes sense to me now.

I am speaking at my village council meeting next week and have a councilmen friend who is going to pass a motion to review the current village dog laws.  At a minimum I am hoping that they will look into the legality of requiring liability insurance based on either breed or size. My hope is that they can find a loophole and pass an ordinance that says once a dog attacks a person or pet that the dog will not be permitted to be kept in the village based on the outcome of an investigation.

In the meantime I am pricing 6' privacy fences and I am no longer procrastinating about buying cameras for my property.

This is true.  I've talked…

This is true.  I've talked about my wife being an investigative journalist in the past.  a few years ago she worked for the Ohio division (her focus was Cincinnati) of one of the major media companies that I will not name.  She was hired to do digital long form crime/investigation articles and had quickly gained a following with tens of thousands of daily readers.
Enter the focus group: The focus group (based in Cleveland which is very much not Cincinnati) said she should not be writing long form investigative pieces and she should be writing short daily stories based off of press releases.

Her daily reader number dropped to a couple of hundred readers a day.  They also forced her to put disclaimers on things that she thought would ruin her long established career.

Needless to say she got out of there as soon as she could and is much happier.

Just realized I used way to…

Just realized I used way to many words to say, "I don't think EVs have advanced enough for everybody. I hope they don't force them on everyone who isn't ready to switch."  As my wife says, I have a knack for making a short story long.  Happy Tuesday and Go Blue.  haha

Let me preface this by…

Let me preface this by saying I like the concept of EVs and I see a real future for them.  My issue is that this push to get everyone in EVs  as soon as possible doesn't make much sense to me looking at the limitations with the vehicles and infrastructure.

I occasionally have to pull a trailer and from everything I've read this drastically reduces the range. While I understand this is true of gas vehicles as well, I can fill my tank with gas in 5 minutes (15 if all the pumps are full).  Charging, from everything I have read, takes close to an hour.  Also, if I am not mistaken the maximum tongue weight on an EV is greatly reduced.

Unless I am traveling and stopping to see the sites along the way, I want to get from point A to B as quickly as possible and having to take a longer route to charge and then wait over 4 times as long to fill up are not appealing to me at all.

I can see that they fully meet the needs of a lot of people already and that's fine, however, I hope they don't move to forcing the issue on those that aren't ready or, more importantly, those who rely on the capability of gas engines for their work and lifestyle the same way many European countries have.

I hope the technology advances to the point that you can still pull a large trailer and not have to drastically alter your travel times.  That is when a lot of the hold outs will start to consider it.  Especially in rural areas like where I live.

The meteor.  When 2 teams…

The meteor.  When 2 teams that you can't stand are playing each other the correct answer is always the meteor.

In reality, I don't really care who wins that game since no matter who wins will be smug about it, and whoever loses will have excuses. Flu, hay fever, grass was too long, etc.

I think I have seen those…

I think I have seen those panels in different colors.  Maybe they make them in Maize or Blue.  We have a recording booth in our house with those and other sound dampening materials for my wife's podcasts so I have hung these before.  Here is one example, but I'm colorblind so I'm not sure if the yellow (Maize) is exactly right. I can tell that the blue is to bright/light shade.

Indeed he did, and used it frequently when others bent over to tee the ball. I don't usually think too much about it when a celebrity passes, but with him it trigged some fond personal memories of laughter and a great conversation.

In all fairness, most college football players, especially the linemen can almost count as 2 people due to extreme height and mass.  haha

I believe I was working…

I believe I was working there that year.  We got free tickets to pro-am day as caddies.  I was able to get my picture with several of the pros as well as with Bo and a lot of other local pro sports celebrities.

I also enjoyed working the Van Patrick tournament every year.  I got to caddie for Leslie Nielsen one year and his comedy persona was on full display. When the cameras weren't on though he was really personable and asked me about my plans after I graduated HS. He listened and offered advice and seemed to really take interest in our conversation. That was more valuable to me than the gracious tip he gave me.
