Michigan seems like the…

Michigan seems like the fallback plan.

Mike's return was great fun…

Mike's return was great fun to watch but inconsequential in the scheme of things. An incomplete pass accomplished the same thing: We win. Will's interception was a defining moment. I wouldn't complain about either one of them being MVP. Same with RBs. Either one is fine. No question Donovan's runs framed the rest of the game.

Maybe it was Alex, and not…

Maybe it was Alex, and not Connor Stalions responsible for our success. We know it wasn't JJ or Blake or Harbaugh or Minter or a football culture previously unknown to mankind. In any event, we are so fortunate to have a site we want to check in on 5 times a day replete with smart, thoughtful writers who are passionate about Michigan football. It was therapeutic to read the rebuttals to all the bullshit.

The game had the appearance…

The game had the appearance of coaches removing the things that could possibly beat us, similar to the fears that led to 30 rushes in a row v PSU. So we lost 50 to 100 yards to bouncing balls (and it would have been more except for side bounces)  but eliminated fumbles from the risk pile. Perhaps Semaj's early decisions to return kick offs to the 15 yard line had an impact. Either the coaches or Semaj didn't have confidence that he would catch it. It was a relief to see Thaw's final fair catch, which was actually a pretty big deal.

I would be surprised if…

I would be surprised if Howard wants to stay another year. The basketball world is different than what he signed on to, his best players are mediocre college players and one and dones, and with his health issues, I can't believe he wants or needs the stress of trying to rebuild this team after his own kids are gone.

I have worried that Harbaugh…

I have worried that Harbaugh is dragging his feet. If Ono and the Regents want it done (and they should), it should get done this week. The longer we wait, the less likely it happens, the harder recruiting is. It is unacceptable for the Athletic Department to undermine recruiting.

When I was there 20 years…

When I was there 20 years ago, there was an amazing and huge outdoor brunch, I believe sponsored by the Alumni Association.

Tell Santa Ono to sign…

Tell Santa Ono to sign Harbaugh today, like I did: presoff@umich.edu

And the Board of Regents like I did: umregents@umich.edu

If they are persuaded, Warde Manuel doesn't need to be.

Would love to see Brian and…

Would love to see Brian and Mgoblog take the lead in creating a groundswell of support as only they can. It will be a travesty if this crap, along with the previous crap, costs us the best coach in my long lifetime. Harbaugh wins, develops players, makes them better men and advocates for them. #SignHarbaughNow

Couldn't agree more. I live…

Couldn't agree more. I live in near EL and it's a great rivalry They should want us on their schedule. So should we. After the shootings, I've decided I'd rather wish them sell most of the time that celebrate their failings.

FWIW, heirs of GM retirees…

FWIW, heirs of GM retirees are eligible for GM Family Legacy discounts on many new cars.

Beilien and Blaha were…

Beilien and Blaha were walking to church together on Ash Wednesday. From the Freep:

"While walking roughly a mile uphill, Blaha began to feel tightness in his chest and shortness of breath. Beilein, who underwent double-bypass open heart surgery in 2018, urged Blaha to go see a doctor.

Just two weeks later, on March 15, Blaha underwent triple-bypass surgery. Tests revealed his heart had three blockages that couldn’t be repaired with stents."

Blaha is recovering.

TTV seems best. $65 per mo,…

YTTV seems best. $65 per mo, plus $60 for WIFI. Easy to use on Ipad or phone, or take an Amazon firestick on the road and plug in. The family sharing is difficult if you don't live in the same area with your kids or parents. I do imagine there are workarounds with email sharing.  The DVR is outstanding you can add "Michigan basketball" to your library and get every game recorded, without worry what channel it is actually on. I'm tempted to cancel it for the off-season but need by MSNBC.

Very easy to order. Thank you!

Harbaugh is the favorite for…

Harbaugh is the favorite for the LV job, SI reports. Still, more likely, he stays.

"According to BetOnline.ag, Tomlin has the fourth-highest odds to be named the Las Vegas Raiders next head coach. His 7/1 odds trail Jim Harbaugh (2/1), Rich Bisaccia (5/2) and Doug Pederson (5/1)."

You are exactly right with…

You are exactly right with about the flaw of defaulting to the call on the field. You can't tell the refs, when in doubt keep the play going (even when you're maybe 75% sure the play should have ended) and then stand with a bad ruling because you're only 75% sure that it is bad.

If U-M wants to help…

If U-M wants to help athletes navigate NIL, it excel at it. If it doesn't, our recruiting will decline. And if U-M won't, I'd like an explanation.

So we can't see Michigan…

So we can't see Michigan-Georgia with YTTV, right?

I remember wanting Henson to…

I remember wanting Henson to win the job because he was, after all the second coming. But damn, Brady kept putting the bombs on the  finger tips! Henson, to be fair, was amazing as a junior and woulda coulda as a senior except for the Yankees.

Lots of great teams to…

Lots of great teams to remember. Among the things I love about this team are: (1) No one regularly takes bad shots. (2) Foul trouble is practically non-existent. (3) There's no one that scares you at the free thrown line (except Austin Davis). We need to stay healthy.

On a lighter note,…

On a lighter note, FiveThirtyEight describes Duncan Robinson as part of "perhaps the NBA's most potent 1-2 punch. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-miami-heats-dynamic-duo-could-make-noise-in-the-playoffs/

Any white person who thinks…

Any white person who thinks they have never crossed the line of unethical behavior or bias based on race is lying or kidding themselves. Rather than deny it, he should live up to his pledge to listen, learn and grow. We all should.

Where to start. Year-long…

Where to start. Year-long accident  stats vs. the early days of a virus numbers. Projected death rate is 3 times higher for virus fatalaties, and that assumes deaths stop on Aug. 4. As terrible as the deaths are, they would be so much higher without stay-home orders. We will overrun hospitals, death rates will likely go higher without ventilators, health care providers will get sick and some die because of inadequate protection, which is already happening.

Went to youtube TV 1 year…

Went to youtube TV 1 year ago. $50 for it, $60 for fast internet -- saves about $75 monthly compared to our Comcast bill. No contracts. Great DVR -- just add "Michigan basketball" to the library and it will record the games regardless of network . All the ESPNs, BTN, Fox Sports. All the news channels. Don't have HBO, etc. Lousy Channel guide. Can stick the Roku in the suitcase and take it on trips. Easy to watch on phone, too.

My first game at Michigan. I…

My first game at Michigan. I had no sense that football was a big deal and no one knew how to pronounce Bo's lastno name. First game on astroturf, I beliefe. The cheerleaders, all men, heaved miniature footballs commemorating the game into the stands, and I caught one in my chest.  Several weeks later, I was hoping for a close loss against unbeatable OSU so that we, not Purdue, would get voted into the Rose Bowl, since OSU couldn't go twice in a row. Fall Saturdays were never again the same.

I am happy with CREDO Mobile…

I am happy with CREDO Mobile, "the carrier with a conscience." Its service is equal to Verizon. Its niche is that it uses a substantial portion of its profits to support progressive causes. For some of us, that feels important now. Right now, there's an excellent deal with new phones.

$50 (plus$60 for internet)…

$50 (plus$60 for internet) sure beats $180 for Comcast. A few issues:

1. Basketball games sometimes froze for a few seconds. Not usually but very annoying when guests were invited for MSU game. I ended up doing an emergency add-on of CBS Access.

2. If I shared my someone's account from another region, I would get the channels from his/her area on Apple TV (though not necessarily on my phone?). This could theoretically cause a Michigan game not to be on because USC is on CBS at the same time, though it hasn't happened yet.

3. DVR is great because you can just ask for all Michigan basketball to be recorded and it will, regardless of the channel. I never watch anything but sports live.

4. Initially, the picture would often be at a low resolution, which could be adjusted manually but sometimes reverted. YTTV said it was a glitch with Apple TV, and it has been fixed. Picture is fine.

5. You have to put up with ads on most channels, seemingly except sports and news channels like MSNBC. Can't fast forward on the DVR for other shows.

6 TV guide isn't great.

Autobench is no longer…

Autobench is no longer quirky. It is a lethal blindspot.

Forums.techguy.org has been helpful to me at times. Good luck. I feel your pain.

She resigned

She resigned from the MSU Athletic Department Board last week saying she could no longer support it. And this is MSU's response/retaiation.

On the other hand, it is hard for MSU to ignore any allegations.

I know Prosecutor Carol Siemon

She will prosecute if she believes the players sexually assaulted someone.

She wanted to be a journalist

And went to the best journalism program in the state. Michigan doesn't have one. She worked her ass off in college, was editor of the State News and went on to work for the Detroit news and the Wall Street Journal.

Michigan doesn't have a journalism program

It was eliminated 20 years ago. Michigan State has the best program in the state.

I agree generally, but not in this case.

I have known Sharon for several years. I know how smart she is and how motivated she was to be a journalist, working at the Detroit News covering GM and Wall Street Journal covering the auto industry and, now, sports investigations. If she said she was accepted to Michigan, she was.  Michigan eliminated its journalism program, from which I graduated, but 20 years ago.She is an exceptional reporter and a fine person. Even if she is a Spartan.

She is a staff member

Sharon is a friend of mine and an outstanding reporter at the Wall Street Journal. She covered the auto industry before becoming their sports desk reporter.

Most of us are too smart to see the math doesn't add up

I'm thrilled that Harbaugh is our coach -- I think he'll be far better than Bo. But we hope that when someone commits, they will stop looking at other schools.  If we get seven of these coveted targets, someone has to go. Maybe there are some "silent transfers." Maybe some fifth-year players we expect to be invited back won't be.

No question it's a huge challenge to strive for the very best but make sure you get at least "really good."  Basketball has the same problem to a lesser degree -- what happens if everyone wants to return?

I really really hope that we are only celebrating on NSD and not feeling that kids who committed early were penalized for doing so.

Makes the case that Mark D'antanini

This seems to make the case that Mark D'antanini is just about the best coach in America with the players he has.

Need to get it to Robinson when he's open

Need to get it to Robinson when he's open

Team 136 turned the program

Team 136 turned the program around. Faster than we expected, slower than we had wished once the season move forward so well. We were outplayed but not outcoached are oluthustled. What a great legacy for this team.

Comcast has 2,486 channels in Lansing

and can't find a way to include one that includes a slew of Michigan basketball games. May be the last straw that pushes me to Dish or DirectTV.

Phenomenal athlete and well

Phenomenal athlete and well conditioned is a much better way to describe him than freak or mutant. Those give him no credit. And they seem to be descriptions that come up most with black athletes as in Tate describing Denard. These guys have developed their bodies in skills with incredible commitment.

I'm no English professor

either, but there are myriad options, not a myriad of them.

No

The Kalamazoo promise is been around for about eight years and it hasn't happened. High school football studs aren't going into those programs.

When you are dealing with a Republican legislature

And A1-state recession, you don't always get what you want.

Think of it

As having a real big Rotary club scholarship

Kalamazoo gives a full ride

To all of its graduates who live in the city,Subject to how long they actually went to school there.

Janet Brown

And yes, it is truly amazing.

Is this great Networking real?

I love the school But the networking didn't help my son when he was looking for a job in the Bay Area. How exactly is this supposed to work, and do people really find it benefits them? These are honest questions.
