It does seem that we get…

It does seem that we get outworked a lot.  I think that sometimes we depend upon Michigan to “recruit itself” too much.  I’m sure we still have a touch of arrogance about the opportunity to be a Michigan Man.  These kids are 16-18....they want to feel the love.  I don’t think we do that very well.

The 180 degree turn in…

The 180 degree turn in offensive approach hurts this type of line.

No....the alumni would veto…

No....the alumni would veto and the non-alumni would love it.  That simple.

We’ve wasted the best O line…

We’ve wasted the best O line we’ve had in 10 years.  At least we could run last year.  Not sure where we go from here but a lot of our weaknesses have been in the open all season.  We have below average DTs and average DEs.  We are high risk, high reward and fundamentally unsound.  We need to go full Big12 rest of season.  Our strength is our WRs....use them before they bolt.

Agreed.  Sadly.

Agreed.  Sadly.

No fire.  We haven’t seen…

No fire.  We haven’t seen fire from the kids and coaches in a long time.

Upon taking a second look…

Upon taking a second look......not as bad as my initial reaction.  It was a great offensive game plan by MTSU.....hard to get pressure.  I thought we did a good job...Mason definitely got pushed around a bit but I’m assuming he’s a place holder until Jeter returns and the freshman DTs grow up a bit.

Me thinks we’re a really…

Me thinks we’re a really good DT and a LB away from being a Top 10 defense.  TBH, it didn’t look close to what we’ve been accustomed to nor did I expect it be.  Should be a top 25 D and hopefully our offense can move into top 20 status. It’s early but I’m moving the needle down to 9-3, perhaps 10-2 if the breaks go our way.  We have a really, really tough schedule.

Does Hulu carry BTN?

Does Hulu carry BTN?

No need to waste time…

No need to waste time arguing with UT fans.  We need to prep to beat Florida for the fifth straight time.  Perhaps they should take notes.

Actually waiting until Feb…

Actually waiting until Feb affords these guys a bit of an advantage.  They can now assess the landscape post commitments and see how rosters and signings play out.  They “commit” to reserve their slot but can still pursue and be pursued by other schools.  I wouldn’t be surprised if one, or both, sign elsewhere.

"Recruiting is also building…

"Recruiting is also building a foundation with guys like Partridge, Moore, and Washington."

^This.

Recruiting is a grueling process and the younger and charismatic types are vital.

Cue the "Waaaaaayyy to early…

Cue the "Waaaaaayyy to early depth chart for 2019: Post early signing period edition".   Full disclosure:  I'd push off work to read every word of it.

Logged in just to give this a Thumbs Up!  Lol.

Lack of energy on the road…

Lack of energy on the road is noticeable. No bounce.

I almost wonder if Chase…

I almost wonder if Chase talks a lot on the field.  There simply isn’t an explanation for his inability to draw a holding penalty.

Dang.  I was worried about…

Dang.  I was worried about laying an egg today. Does anyone else think that our team and coach are too business like?  For better or worse we are not a fiery team.  I don’t know....seems like we are emotionless sometimes.

I'll jump

Relax

Yep

We were good QB play away from a NC.

One of my

One of my all time favorite crushes.  She was absolute beauty to me.

Yep

I noticed a vet with a WWII hat on while I was getting coffee a couple of months ago on an Air Force base.  He has a Battle of Bulge pin on his cap and not one troop spoke to him.  Blew me away.......a walking piece of history.  I chatted him up for 15 minutes.  Gave he and his  wife a hug and thanked him profusely.

Hmmm.

Weren't we the offer that really blew up his recruiting?  IIRC, we were in there showing serious love waaaayyy before he flirted with 5* status.  Really, no need to blast a program like that.  Oh well....he been long gone.  Maybe we can lock in his Mom once she scores her 115 point protection plan and sees UM on top.  Does she project to DL?

Raid ND

Who's with me?!?!?

Still spinning

Still spinning from the LTT dismissal. If not for his poor choices we would sitting with okay this season. New some would have redshirted and probably not been forced to play early. We would look at LTT, Newsome with JBB as reserve for tackles and Bredesen, Dawson, Onwenu and Kuglet at Guard with Cole and Kugler at center.

DPJ

He did recently say something along the lines of "everyone thinks they know I'm going" .....hopefully not foreshadowing something negative for UM.

Agreed

Absolutely agree.  He is the most "outstanding" player.  Others have nearly replicated Jackson ( who may not be the best QB performance this year) but no one has come close to replicating Peppers' performance.

Home/Away

I'm assuming that we would be visitors and the ACC team home, correct?

Positive note

Let's make some lemonade here. We need to dominate a perennial power in a recruiting hotbed while getting another month of valuable practice for our very young backups and reserves. Speight will get more game time reps against a quick and talented defense. Harbaugh will probably manage to draw a lot of attention as far as ratings as well. The eyes of HS Florida football talent will be on us.

Nope

I said it all year long. We were a dominant RB ( Barkley type) from being the best team in the country.

Yes

Yes. Our D was tiring a bit and the OT setup benefitted them more than us.

Something to think about

Next year will be the first season that Harbaugh has a returning starter at QB and Don Brown's defense should be fully implemented.  If our OL, WR and DBs develop we should be pretty good.  We will be fine at QB, TE, RB, and DL.

JOK

JOK looks like he is suffering from a severe case of the Happy Feets.  Speight has more patience.

We are now

We are now showing 10 games of tendancies.  Don Brown can mix in a couple of zone looks on occasion.  A great example would have been on the Iowa screen for a touchdown.  A quick change of pace zone look there would have stopped a TD or possibly generated a TO.  We are predicatably unpredictable.

In Tampa

In Tampa but everyone knew who he was instantly.  We have Indiana, OSU, MSU and Indiana transplants in our neighborhood.

Harbaugh sighting

Harbaugh was in the neighborhood doing a little recruiting.  I also noticed his hustle from house to house....netted a huge amount of candy.

Agreed

Honestly, I find myself looking for Higdon and Evans to be in the game with Issac as the "change of pace" back.  I think Harbaugh is playing this correctly.  He is rewarding his hardworking Sr. with enough carries while developing his more explosive younger backs.  This is the reason we see Morris run package type plays.  They don't "steal" practice reps from Speight and JOK yet allow Harbaugh to reward Morris' hard work and dedication with some game time action.  I think he balances meritocracy with rewarding the program elders' dedication and "loyalty" perfectly.

I'm 50/50

I'm 50/50 on him leaving.  I think he sees the environment Harbaugh has created and is smart enough to know that he has a special thing here.  The NFL will treat him as an asset and he will not be able to play O/D/sepcial teams.  No more Wildcat QB, RB, etc.  The kid is having a blast right now and I'm not sure he wouldn't want one more year.  Of course, if we win a NC.....he probably gone.

I was looking for him

You may be right.  I don't recall hearing the coaches speak about him at all.

Exactly

Unfortunately..

...this is exactly what happened to me.  Spring practice for a small D-III school...played S and the QB overthrew the WR....broke on the ball and the WR stumbled directly into my knee..."bending" it backwards...instant pain and I knew I wouldn't play football again.  This was in '91 so the recovery was much longer.  The knee was never normal again I have numerous issues with it today.  Horrible injury that I wouldn't wish on my enemy.

In my apartment

I was in my apartment with full battle-rattle prepping to to deploy to Egypt for a training exercise.  After the second tower was hit I received a call, "Stand down.  We may be going somewhere else."  So, I watched for the next couple of hours in full fatigues with my ruck sack fully packed and just thinking " Let's go!"

Might just be

Might just be a case of looking at the depth chart and thinking "I might get more playing time somewhere else".

Looks like

Looks like Mone left after Delano Hill's pick six.  The last I could see him he was celebrating the touchdown in the end-zone.  I didn't see him back in the game after that.  I'm hoping he didn't pull a Gramatica.

Easily Lewan

Can you imagine Lewan with Drevno coaching? How about Funchess? Harbaugh and crew would find some creative mismatches there.

What are the odds?

I would love to know more. I was looking to take my son to his first game that weekend or the next. I'm a retired Army Senior Non-Com and a life long Wolverine. I'd appreciate any info the board might share.

Actually...

Actually....I would say it resembles Bosnia.  I was deployed to Tuzla and some other areas in the mid-late 90's.  We would drive through some villages and half of the house would be missing and you would see a family still living in there.  You see the same wrecked/open houses in Detroit.  In Bosnia, a tank shell ripped it open....in Detroit, it was the slow decay of blight, poverty and indifference.

Future S?

He is much bigger than I anticipated and pretty smooth.  He will blossom with major coaching and strength program.  We don't get to see full pads so whether he is physical enough hasn't been decided.  Anyone else think he has just about "grown into" a S at the next level?

Hmmm...

I joined the Army...attended Air Assault school.....seemed to work out for me.

On second take, that may be a bit extreme.
