Suck it Delaney

Submitted by Rdog on

For the 3rd year in a row the Big10 didn't get a competitive team into the National Championship Tournament (yes I know, Michigan State made it in 2015 and lost 0-38 and Ohio State was in last year and lost 0-31).

Can we admit that the current East/West setup isn't working-  at least it isn't working to send the Big10s best representative to the NC playoff.

Ya, you don't know. Michigan outplayed osu and had more talent. Qb play hurt but officials not helping osu against clemson makes a big difference does'nt it?.

I am pretty sure the game would have been closer and Michigan would not have been shut out. Just plain embarassing.

We played OSU to a near draw, they got some calls but also missed 2 field goals and were held on a goal line stand IIRC.  So that is 9 points off the board for OSU, I don't think the refs robbed us of 9 points to be honest.

Same thing in 2015.  We played MSU to a near draw where their decisions to go for it on 4th down instead of kicking field goals gave us a lead at the end of the game.

Sure psychologically speaking 38-7 or 31-3 would be better than shutouts, but either way we weren't going to hang very long with 2015 Alabama or 2016 Clemson.

oh gosh. I'm sick of the "B10 is conspiring in favor of OSU" narrative

If there is a money grab conspiracy it would have obviously favored Wisky since if they won they would have been in

That is cutting off your nose to spite your face, as the fates of Michigan and Delaney's politicking are not only entwined, but aligned.

Can someone make it so that I never clicked on this?

And thus, would not have posted this comment...

So there wouldn't be any need to reverse my actions, hrm...

NEW THREAD!

If anything it would've been in the conference's interest to ref-job Ohio in the championship game.  An undefeated Wiscy was the best change for the B1G conference to represent in the playoffs - unless OSU repeated their 59-0 super saiyan mode, you couldn't really make the case for them squeezing in with 2 losses vs. 1-loss Bama especially seeing as how one of their losses was them getting carpet-bombed by 31 points against Iowa.

You know..no sensible coach would have answered that question the way Dantonio did...he didn't have to mention UM at all. By doing so he had to expect a response.

Although I agree, I get the sense that a great deal of the reason Delaney has it in for Michigan is because of Dave Brandon’s arrogant and overbearing attitude. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve felt that way since the “random drawing” sent Michigan to MSU two years in a row and synchrd the home and home cycle for MSU and OSU v Michigan.

This thread can be improved.  This might be a baby step but lets talk about how socks are arranged in sock drawers.  Color? Ankle? Shin or calf high socks?

I find that I really need at least two areas where I keep socks. The primary "everyday" socks need to be in or near my main dressing area. This is a truly elite group of socks. They are comfy and are used for either work (Monday through Friday 6:00 am selection times) or play (evenings and weekends selection times). Then there is another place with the other socks. For those you do t need everyday but can't live without. You don't want these in with your everyday socks because it dilutes those and makes it difficult to find your everyday socks once thier numbers start dwindling due to a build up of unwashed laundry. The socks that go to this other drawer of socks are typically your hiking socks, thick comfy lounge socks (huge), and any socks with red in them.

are just inifitely better football teams than 2015 MSU and 2016 OSU.

That seems more likely.

Also, just look Delaney.  He's probably not as much evil as he is incompetent. Example: Adding Maryland and Rutgers.

If you want to run a  successful referee conspiracy in the BIG10 to exclude Michigan,  then Jim Delaney is the last guy you want implementing it.
