Police investigating Elysee Mbem-Bosse for death threat against Harbaugh
The mainstream media is starting to pick this story up now and apparently police are investigating the account.

to be flirting with a very dangerous and fine line with the statements I read. It's OK to be upset, but you can do so without threatening to call the morgue. I hope for his sake this can be resolved, or he may have brought himself on a world of hurt.
Not mentioned is that he was asking Angelique what time coaches media availablity ended and if anyone can go to them.
Yup I was going to add the same thing. She obviously told him it was for media.
I would say this is more than just walking a fine line.
Something is seriously not right with him.
All of his deleted tweeted together make for a imminent threat of violence which is illegal. He stated a target, a time, a method of killing, a reason (rather unlcear but still), etc. He needs to be arrested
Harbaugh?!......Murdered by a linebacker??? Not with that quick release and pocket presence. SMH...
Not the time for a snarky comment.
Levity through wit is not snark.
I can't imagine he'll be charged as there are no direct threats.
But, an exit post is pretty much inevitable.
Doesn't feel good. I was angry at his age also.
Hopeful he finds whatever he needs to succeed elsewhere.
Edit: and apparently I missed the exit post.
Haters are going to try or spin it. He needs some help.
You need to take a step back and re-evaluate your priorities mate.
Hmmmm .... he had 3 statements there
This situation sucks - true
Haters are going to try to spin it - true
He needs help - true
The "He needs help" line was not there when I initally went to reply, assuming he edited it (though I may have just missed it.) That said doesn't change much. Hearing about this situation and getting worried about how haters may respond is such a weird ass response to me.
Well ain’t that some shit lol. I was wondering if it was edited because it seemed meh but alright by me
The kid is clearly in some serious pain.
The haters will try to spin it? There’s nothing to spin! He threatened to shoot people. End of story.
Ijohnb and another poster already tried to spin it as the program is out of control and how do coaches let t get to this
Statement from Michigan athletics: "Elysee (Mbem-Bosse) left the football program in mid-November and is no longer with the team."
— angelique (@chengelis) April 17, 2018
We all knew that already. I would’ve expected some acknowledgement of an investigation regarding the threats.
It’s possible they can’t comment further at the moment.
Yeah, we are not staee who openly violates privacy laws regarding our (former) students.
Why would the Athletics department acknowledge an investigation? Isn’t that the job of the police?
If he isn’t one of their student-athletes then they probably didn’t think it prudent to comment on an ongoing investigation that he is in the middle of. Let law enforcement do their job.
Hope he can get some help.
Exactly. Don't know what his situation is other than no longer being with the team. I hope he has someone in his corner that can step and and talk to him/guide him/get him any help, etc.
Sounds like he's suffering a real mental breakdown. Hopefully the tweets are a cry for help rather than reflective of actual intent.
Unfortunately cries for help and intent often go hand in hand.
A "cry for help," as in, saying stuff to get attention? Well, if that's what he wanted, he's got it. But when people get caught up in emotions like anger, some of them lose their filters, and start doing and saying things that they will regret for a long time.
Oftentimes, a person shouting "Hey I'm going to do this bad thing" is often doing so because they have no other way to ask for help. They want someone to step in and stop it. If you're supposed to be a big tough football player how do you admit that you feel weak, sick, in pain, etc, except it's not physical? He hasn't actually hurt anyone, and did seem to suffer a personal tragedy. Getting kicked off a football team is nothing--you can just transfer someplace else and play. So what else is going on there? Maybe it's because I teach and I'm receptive to kids with troubles and the way they may react with self-harm, but I'll choose sympathy for now.
Oh, I know what you mean. I've dealt with quite a bit of it myself. However, there's too much we don't know about his situation, and might never know, to understand everything.
My point was more that people who are following base emotional impulse may be more in "cry-for-help" mode but are still capable of doing some pretty dangerous things. Some suicide attempts, for example, are "cries for help." Sadly, not all of them fail as intended.
there is a problem there, and hopefully someone can help him. Glad the police are looking into it because too many times these kinds of things do turn violent and just make a bad situation much worse.
The threatening tweets he put out there could land him in serious trouble, but hopefully it leads to help.
I have a family member who is severly bi-polar and showed these same traits/and said similar damning things. We got this family member help immediately..it was a bumpy road.. and while he still needs to be ontop of his medication and therapy sessions...he is living mostly a normal life keeping it in check.
I see similariries here.....make sure he and everyone is safe, offer to help.
and that's why determining what is a real threat and what isn't is so difficult for law enforcement. The ratio of threats to self and others to real action is incredibly large.
To me, the most disturbing part of this is that he’s been off the team since November, but is tweeting this stuff five months later. Most people would’ve moved on by now. Instead, his anger seems to be building.
violations or some other matter not yet resolved. He was probably given conditions to live by with a chance for reinstatement if satisfied. He didn’t satisfy those conditions (or a prior matter couldn’t be resolved) and they said goodbye.
The facts will come out.

I believe these are study days leading up to finals later this week. Maybe the stress of finals is getting to him. Being removed from the team I'm sure was a blow that made him question his future plans. Now, at the end of the school year, if he's been struggling academically (I know, speculative, not casting aspersions but casting about for some scenario that helps to explain the situation) he may be looking at a negative situation there too. Maybe he lashes out at someone he thinks is responsible for his troubles.
Tru dat; I see a ginormous call for help, it seems he is tweeting some of the inner turmoil going on inside his head.
The problem these days is that there are such limited resources for mental health issues.
Sounds like not taking ownership of why he got booted, is regretting it, and childishly and criminally is blaming the staff.
This kid is a danger to himself and the community right now. He needs serious help!
He has likely thrown away what could have been a bright future on and off the football field.
Not the exact same situation, but it immediately made me think of the social media threats by Jonathan Martin (former Miami Dolphin).
Never a dull moment following this program
Hate to say it, but what a circus the Harbaugh era has been, not that this incident is his fault necessarily. Please just win some big games, so the off field stuff can be put to rest.
This is a really ridiculous post.
It's not like we were ranked #2 and winning on our secondary rival's home field less than 2 years ago.
Seeing your join date you probably weren't on the bandwagon but 2014 was the utter definition of a circus.
If your head coach getting death threats does not scream circus then I’m not sure what does... it’s totally bizarre. It will not play well in the media for the program. Been a fan of the program my entire life, dude.
It doesn’t scream circus to me. It screams an individual who needs some help, which is a fairly common occurrence in CFB, and everywhere for that matter.
Is it possible that theres more to this story that we dont know beyond a former player having a meltdown?
Is it really that outrageous that some of us find this whole situation strange?
That you are trying to make a kid’s mental breakdown into a football issue. It is outrageous and you are ridiculous and should seriously consider never posting here again.
That is the equivalent of the idiots trying to make the MSU scandal about a sports rivalry.
is fair to wonder whether there is anything else those in the football program could have handled anything differently to soften this kid’s fall. None of us know, we don’t know all the facts, but it is fair to consider. To believe that our coaches and the program is infallible is what keeps creating toxic athletic cultures across the country. This staff has made some missteps in the past with its handling of certain recruits and players (the Swenson situation was not handled well). Calling it a “circus” is misguided and inaccurate, but none of us know if anything could have been done differently to prevent this outcome, but it is not outrageous to discuss. If anything, keeping an open mind about the programs you follow would seem responsible.
Got to Michigan? 5, 10, 20? Or 1 out of approx 200? How about at Stanford? Or the 49ers? Do you think it is more likely that a kid is having a breakdown or that the staff decided to torment this one kid out of the hundreds?
How many current or former Harbaugh players are coming to his defense? If this was a culture issue, wouldn’t some of these guys come out saying that EMB has a legitimate gripe?
As far as this story that he got kicked off the team for attending to a family emergency, does that really sound like something consistent with our staff culture? Even if it was, wouldn’t taking it to the school administration sound like a better idea than going on Twitter and making death threats.
The reason you and your cohorts are coming off like total assholes is that you are trying to turn a mental health tragedy into some predisposed football culture issue. You really just need to stop.
"Is it possible that theres more to this story that we dont know beyond a former player having a meltdown"
Sure, it's possible.
Is it possible that some people who love controversy and made-up drama are desperate for some kind of juicy scandal, like little kids lifting up rocks in the hope that there's something wiggly underneath?
Same answer.
